About Greylock. This guy is a mystery to me. Personally, I feel like I’ve made up Greylock’s entire personality based on other fics and the small fragments from Baileywhoops, so he’s a strange amalgamation, lol. In this particular fanfic, I went with a version where Greylock is a bit unaware of himself—he picks up on and understands certain things but misses a lot of others (most of them).

In this fic he's literally like:

I also made him a bit weird. He has his own idea of what he considers romantic, as you can see. Above all, I feel like I gave him this trait where he wants everything to be immediate, so to speak. He doesn’t take Cedric’s perspective or his own faults into account when reacting.

He thinks things will magically fix themselves with one good gesture, and Cedric will fall for his (nonexistent) charms.

I don’t know, it was fun to write him that way, hahaha. By the way, the 'clown instincts' made me laugh a lot.

Also, yes, Muldo the Magnificent is really his name. He was literally only mentioned once, and I’m so obsessed. I’d love to know what Cedric and Cordelia’s school years were like.

Regarding the calculations you made, yes, Cedric is in tenth grade and Greylock, Muldo, and Cordelia are in eleventh. I have a headcanon that Cordelia is about a year older than Cedric, so that’s why. (Although I don't really know how grades are used because in my country the school classification is very different.)

As for the carrot joke, that’s my fault. It was terrible. I really didn’t know what to put, and it sounded better in my head and in Spanish. Greylock must have given me something.

I’m glad to hear Greylock’s actions are frustrating at some point, because all of this could have been avoided if he had acted like a normal person and apologized properly from the start. But honestly, neither of them is normal.

Muldo has to be the coherent one because no one else in this fic is.

Yes, yes, yes

I think one of the things that has help me to write is the thought that I only do it for fun. It's fun. It doesn't have to be the piece that changes modern literature.

Sometimes it's just sharing something that you imagined. It doesn't have to follow canon, after all, that's what fanfiction is for. There is a whole world of possibilities in fanfiction!

It's liberating to think about that sometimes.
