Part 1 Part 2 Part 4

Letting Go (Levi Ackerman Series) Part 3

I was 16 when I was rescued from my abusive household. I remember that day clearly almost as if it happened yesterday. I spend my entire childhood within the walls of Sina as my mother and father were known for their presence in the church. We were known as the Huxley family. My father was an avid believer that the walls were gifted by the god and that we should protect it with our everything. Whereas my mother was a two timer; on one side she would be like my father preaching the same, but at the same time she herself didn’t believe the exact words that came out of her mouth and on the other side she was the town whore. She would sleep around with almost everyone just so she could get her way towards anything and everything.

I had a sister who was 7 years older than me and she would often go to my father telling him about mom sleeping around with other men whenever he wasn’t home but he would never believe her and beat her up or sometimes even lock her in our basement without food or water for several days at a stretch. When my mother came to know of this, she manipulated my dad into sending her to the Survey corps without any prior experience. My father loved my mother so he does anything she asks for….

Now you might think as to why the town people never told my dad of my mother’s behavior. That’s because whoever does so where mysteriously found dead the next day by my mother’s thugs. At one point, people were so scared of her that they started avoiding our entire family like a plaque. They turned deaf ears to our screams and pleadings.

I remember spending time with my sister, Kaylie, and if anything she was the mother figure in my life. She would buy me clothes and give me good food unlike my mother who would give me her leftovers. She taught me to read and to survive my mother’s abuse. I will forever be thankful for her.

Three weeks after my mother send her to the Survey corps, we received the news that she was killed by an abnormal titan and there was no part of hers that remained. I cried for years because I was missing her and my mother’s abuse only became worse after she left. I tried running away, but she always found me and dragged me back to the hell hole.

I first met Erwin, who was a captain back then, when he came to our house to give the news of my sister’s death. His icy blue eyes looking calculative as always with a hint of compassion for the loss of a family member. He had a very intimidating aura which helped him look strong and proud. He reminded me of my sister in various ways, one of which being that he would try his best to help save someone to the best of his abilities irrespective of what his elders or seniors opinion on the matter.

The next few times I met him, I thought it was a complete coincidence until I happened to eavesdrop on one of his conversations. He was staying for the time being at a castle in its ruins due to years of negligence. I was passing by to retrieve water for my family from the river near the ruins when I heard noises coming from the castle which was unoccupied for as long as I remember. I leaned against a broken window to hear well and that’s when I recognized Erwin’s voice. I couldn’t see who he was talking to but I heard something along these lines, “You know John….there’s something really off about the Huxley family.”

“What’s that?” I heard John ask.

“Don’t you think it’s strange that Kaylie Huxley, who was working in the church all years of her life, happened to suddenly join us out of nowhere just when we were leaving for the most dangerous expedition we have had in the last three years?”

“Maybe you’re just over thinking this Captain” John sighed.

Erwin paid him no mind and continued, “It’s not just that, when I was inquiring about their family in the neighborhood, everyone seemed to avoid talking about them almost as if they were scared about something happening to them if they spoke a word about the Huxley’s.”

“….That’s a bit of a stretch Captain. Maybe they’re just not as well known for the neighbors to speak about them” John replied exhaustedly trying to end the conversation there.

“Negative! Mr. Huxley is very famous in the church especially for his preaching and is also close to the royal family. So, there’s no way the people don’t know about them” Erwin exclaimed thoughtfully.

“Why are you so obsessed with their family? Maybe they just wanted to help humanity by sending their beloved daughter to the survey corps. They probably didn’t even know about the danger factor of the expedition. We don’t have much proof to question them for their actions” Said John.

“A family who works for the royalty and the church must make more than enough to feed a family of four. Remember when we went to give them news on the death of their elder daughter, there I saw a teen probably around 15 or 16 years with bruises on her body and rag like clothing. The moment Mrs. Huxley found me looking at her, she shielded her from my line of vision and I also noticed that Mrs. Huxley had quite some jewelry on her. I searched through church documents and found that the teen is their younger daughter, her name is Verity….Verity Huxley. If all of this is true then two major factors needs to be assessed here, one Verity is being abused or used as a slave and two, sending Kaylie to our dangerous expedition was no coincidence. They were trying to kill her.”

[Verity as a first name is derived from a Latin feminine noun meaning ‘truth’]

I heard guards coming around the corner of the castle’s entrance so I decided to quickly get back to the path towards the river.

I didn’t see Erwin for the next few weeks so I just thought that he had left wall Sina to do his work since he was a captain afterall.

On the day after Halloween, I was woken up due to the commotion outside my house. I heard my mom screaming profanities at someone and it also sounded like many people were talking about something. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and blinked a few times. As soon as I was awake I called out, “Mom….can you open the door? I promise I won’t do it again…its dark in here and I’m a little scared. Can you please open the door mom? Please….” I trailed off when I heard someone opening the door to the basement I was locked in on because I ate mom’s leftovers the previous night without asking her.

The door was swung open while the light from outside almost blinded me and I squinted my eyed trying to adjust to the light. I looked up and was shocked to see Erwin with some senior officials standing on the doorway. Erwin turned and said to one of the officers, “She is their youngest daughter, Verity Huxley also the sister of Kaylie Huxley. She was the one I told you about.” The officer looked at me, my condition as well as my surroundings and then whispered something to one of the soldiers who then walked out. The officer then said to Erwin, “I’ll leave her to you then. Ensure a safe and healthy surrounding for her and then report back to me later.” They nodded at each other and everyone other than Erwin left the house.

“What happened to mom and dad?” I asked Erwin. He looked at me, smiled and said, “You don’t have to worry about them anymore…they’re where they belong. I know that you don’t know much about me and probably don’t trust me but I can give you a place you can call home and good food. So you might have to trust me and come with me.”

“Are you sure she won’t come wherever you’re taking me? Will I be safe?” I asked feeling a little hesitant to follow him knowing that she might hurt him if she gets a hold of me ever again. “I promise. And even if she does, I’ll keep you safe…she’ll never be able to hurt you like this again.” He said having a serious and genuine look on his face. He has kept his side of the promise so far.

Such a simple and cute story.

Heartwarming to read!!

The Guerrillas

The Guerrillas

Tumblr is based on a system of reblogs, not likes. Please reblog my work.

Pairing: ATEEZ ot8x gn!Reader (platonic)

Genre: one shot, fluff, sfw

Word Count: 1k

Summary: This was inspired by San saying that since the guerrilla challenge is hard [so], they didn’t go around looking for artists to do it, but if anyone wants to do it, they can knock on their waiting room. I thought it would make for a cute little OT8 one shot

Warnings: none I guess?

A/N: I know I just posted a Yeosang x reader time stamp a 24 hours ago, but like I just had to get this out of my system 😭😂

The Guerrillas

You were a part of the famous K-pop duo Cherry, known for its powerful performances and diverse music releases. Considering you had debuted around the same time as ATEEZ and that both groups were from small companies, you’d instantly clicked, and friendship blossomed easily between the ten of you.

You had been chilling backstage at a music show after a hectic day of recording. You still had time before you were supposed to go back to the dorms, so you were scrolling through stan Twitter when a tweet caught your eye. An atiny had tweeted about San’s messages on Universe, where he’d said that since the guerrilla challenge was complex, they hadn’t gone looking around for other idols to do it, but if someone wants to do it, they can knock on their waiting room. Someone had replied to that tweet, saying it would be cool if Cherry would do the challenge since the two groups were friends. After deliberating on it for a few seconds, you made up your mind. You stood up, telling your manager that you would be back in a while.

When you reached their waiting room, however, you started second-guessing yourself. Would it be a good idea to do the guerrilla challenge? There was a reason the boys hadn’t gone around looking for idols to do it with them. The choreography was tricky and required excellent dancing skills to pull off. You were so engrossed in your thoughts that you didn’t realize the door had opened, and Wooyoung was now standing in front of you.

He calls your name and his voice shook you out of your reverie, and you instantly smiled at the boy.

“Oh, hey, Woo!”

“Who are you talking to?” You heard Jongho’s voice from inside, followed by murmurs from the other members of ATEEZ.

Mingi popped up behind Wooyoung, face lighting up with a smile at the sight of you. He lightly pushed Wooyoung away and pulled you into the waiting room before bringing you into a hug. “Oh my god, hi! It’s been so long.”

“Definitely,” Seonghwa piped up, walking closer to you, ruffling your hair affectionately when Mingi let you go. “We love Cherry’s new album. My favorite track is ‘Miss-ing’ I’d expected it to have sad undertones, especially considering the name, but I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be EDM.”

“Your vocals are so good in the album, by the way! You should sing more,” Jongho added. “I mean, you’re an amazing rapper, but your singing skills are just as amazing and deserve more recognition.”

“Thank you,” you smiled shyly at the boys before greeting the group.

“Not that we’re not glad that you’re here, but what brings you here?” Hongjoong asked, curious about your sudden visit.

“Also, why were you just standing in front of the door? You looked like you were facing an existential crisis,” Wooyoung joined in the conversation, casually throwing his arm around your shoulders.

“Um,” you hesitated. Now that you were inside the waiting room, looking at their expectant gazes, you felt nervous.

“Are you alright?” Yeosang questioned, realizing that you were hesitating about something. “Do you need help? Did someone make you uncomfortable? Should one of us walk you to your waiting room? Do you want me to call your manager?”

“No, it’s not that,” you smiled at the usually quiet member, touched by his thoughtfulness. Your eyes found San’s, “Actually, I saw a tweet by an Atiny… You were talking about the guerrilla challenge on Universe and uh…”

San’s eyes lit up with glee at your words. “Do you want to do it with us?”

You nodded meekly, causing the eight members to smile at you fondly. They knew you were a fantastic dancer, but to see you this shy about doing the challenge warmed their hearts.

“Do you know the choreo?” Seonghwa asked softly.

You nodded again, “Yeah, manager-nim said we wouldn’t be able to pull it off, so the two of us learned it just to prove him wrong. Can I just say it is one of the most challenging dances I’ve learned? I was dying by the end of it. You guys are amazing, really.”

Hongjoong chuckled at your words, “Thank you. So, who do you want to do the challenge with?”

“I dunno. I was hoping that you’d be the ones to decide it, considering it’s your challenge…” You trailed off, eyes widening when all eight members looked at each other with sharp gazes.

Mingi suddenly brought his fist forward, causing the other seven to follow his actions, “Last two standing will do the challenge. Rock, paper, scissors.”

In the end, San and Seonghwa won the game and now sported huge smiles on their faces. You giggled at the dejected faces of your other friends. It seemed like they’d all wanted to do the challenge with another idol.

“Let’s practice it before actually filming it,” Yeosang said, grabbing the camera from one of the managers. “I know you said you learned the choreography, but can you dance the part once so we can see if you need any pointers?”

“Sure,” you looked at Yunho, who nodded at you before playing the music. You let the music wash over you as you danced, bringing out your stage persona as you danced to the beats until the music stopped.

The eight members blinked for a couple of seconds before breaking out in cheers and hollers.

“We should’ve just filmed the challenge directly,” Jongho laughed, shaking his head. “You're too good.”

Wooyoung nodded with a giggle, “I know, right? Oh, by the way, can you copy that move I do with my finger? It’ll look cool if you do it since you’ll be in the center.”

You nodded eagerly, following Wooyoung’s demonstration easily. It was definitely your point in the whole choreography.

“Let’s do it then,” San cheered, pulling Seonghwa into position slightly behind you.

After they had posted the challenge video on their SNS, you and the ATEEZ members had so much fun going through the meltdown that happened in both fandoms. Hongjoong even shared a screenshot of a tweet saying that ATEEZ should just adopt you as their honorary member because you were their friend and also the first idol who was brave enough to do the challenge.

His features are so godlike that he might as well be a god....

Pairing: Deity!Seonghwa x gn!Reader

Genre: one shot, meet cute, fluff, god!au, magic!au, sfw

Word Count: 1.1k

Summary: You accidentally make an offering to an ancient and obscure god. You didn't expect him to show up in front of you, his first worshipper in centuries.

Warnings: Friends who leave you behind in the forest, mentions of drinking, a tiny bit of angst if you squint

Starlight | P.sh

You felt foolish.

You should have known your “friends” would pull such a nasty prank on you. At this particular moment, alone in the forest at the edge of the town, you felt like cursing your friends to the fiery depths of hell.

This morning, your childhood friend had asked you to accompany them and a few others to the pub. You’d agreed, it had been an exhausting week, and you needed a pick-me-up to start the weekend on a better note. After a few drinks, the four of you found yourselves in a McDonald’s, playing a game of truth and dare. Your friend was dared to step into the forest and stay there for five minutes. The others had agreed to walk to the edge with them to ascertain they’d complete the dare. But you weren’t expecting your friend to turn the tables on you and ask you to go deeper and wait for them to come to you. A few minutes later, when no one had arrived, you shouted their names to no avail. The fact that they had left you in the forest with nothing but a bag of french fries sobered you up quicker than anything else.

Sighing, you looked around, hoping to find a trail to get back to the edge and make your way home. You didn’t find one, but something else caught your eye. It was a moss-covered statue similar in style to the Roman ones you’d seen in books and documentaries. Intrigued by the random statue in the middle of nowhere, you approached it cautiously. You went around it, looking for a name or something that would tell you something about it, only to be disappointed.

Finding yourself at the front of the statue again, you decided to get closer, only to trip on a raised brick. Looking down, you realized it had some text, and you dropped down to brush the leaves aside.

The God of Stars

“So, you’re a god, huh?” Your eyes took in the statue’s almost life-like features, wonder filling you at the artist’s beautiful craftsmanship. You chuckled sadly, “Must be pretty lonely to be in the middle of nowhere.”

“Unfortunately, I don’t have much to offer you, my friends left me in this forest, and I’ve nothing but this. Something tells me you’d appreciate these fries more than I do right now,” you mumbled a prayer under your breath and placed the bag of uneaten fries at the feet of the statue.

It happened in a flash, one moment, the forest was calm, and the next, a gust of wind had caused all the fallen leaves to rise from the ground. You closed your eyes, crouching to protect yourself from the sudden onslaught of wind, leaves, and dust. You opened one eye when the wind died, only to choke on air when you saw a beautiful hand stretched out in front of you.

Your gaze followed the hand up the person’s arm and landed on his face. He was beautiful, to put it simply. His hair was silver and shone in the dark, the silvery wisps glowing in the moonlight. Though his expression was impassive, his eyes were shining with glee, so much so that it seemed as if there were stars in his eyes. His skin seemed to shimmer with gold, like the rings that adorned his fingers. You blinked at the man, wondering who he was and how he’d found you. You were sure no one had been around moments ago.

“You know, my hand is going to start cramping if I hold it out much longer,” his voice was lovely too, like how you would imagine silk would sound, and a few octaves lower than you imagined it to be, what with his delicate features. You hesitantly placed your hand in his, allowing him to help you into a standing position.

“Who…” Your voice caught your throat when you saw the bag of french fries in his other hand. You looked behind him to see the empty pedestal where the moss-covered statue had once been.

“I see you’ve put two and two together,” the corner of his lips quirked upwards when he saw your shocked and mildly fearful expression. “I won’t hurt you, mortal. After all, you’re the first person to have prayed to me in centuries.”

“Centuries?” You asked softly. The way he’d said that sounded really sad, and you felt a tinge of sorrow for the man– no, god in front of you.

He hummed, his eyes gazed into the distance as if he was seeing things that had long since passed. “I used to be one of the gods of the pantheon the humans of this place worshipped long ago. Then one day, they were driven away because of famines, and it wasn’t until your ancestors built the town that I saw humans again. But a few decades later, everyone forgot about me, so here I’ve been, sleeping through it all.”

“I’m sorry,” you mumbled, not knowing what else to say.

He shrugged, “It’s not a big deal. It’s just what happens with the rise and fall of civilizations. Anyways, do you have a name?”

“Do you?” You retort, curious to know the name of the deity in front of you.

Your question caused him to chuckle, a melodic sound that reminded you of the wind chimes you’d hung on your windowsill. It was a sound you could hear for the rest of your life.

“Of course I do,” he replied, amused by your curiosity. “My name is Seonghwa.”

“That’s a surprisingly fitting name,” you commented. You were surprised by how you had taken this whole meeting with a god thing in stride. It was either due to you still being slightly drunk or because he had a calming presence. You’d like to think it was the latter.

He huffed out another chuckle before humming in agreement. “I still don’t know your name.”

“Ah,” you smile apologetically and introduce yourself.

“So, what kind of people are your friends? You don’t just leave your friends in the forest, in the middle of the night, no less,” he said. His tone reminded you of a disapproving parent disappointed by their child’s actions.

“They were drunk,” you shrugged.

“That doesn’t excuse their behaviour. You should make new friends.” Then as if suddenly remembering the bag of fries in his hand, he grabbed one, looking at it in fascination. With a bit of uncertainty, he nibbled onto it, eyes lighting up at the taste. “Oh, this tastes better than I expected.”

His awed tone caused you to laugh, and you made a decision, “Hey, Seonghwa, would you like to get some chicken nuggets to go with the fries?”

He smiled, nodding in answer, “Lead the way.”

Genre/warnings: werewolf au, college au, hurt/comfort (so angst and fluff are implied w that), so much cheesiness at the end that it made me cringe re-reading it, ends on a cliffhanger hehe <3

Part 2 Part 3 Part 4

Letting Go (Levi Ackerman Series) Part 1
Letting Go (Levi Ackerman Series) Part 1

V….. Yes you read that right, my name is V or rather you could say that people call me V. I’m 24 years old and I’m eyebrow’s Erwin’s sister….well to be honest adopted sister. I will tell you about that in another time. I work under Hange’s division and she’s also my best friend. She can be a little crazy but I love her regardless of her creepy obsession with titans. I have the highest number of Titan kills in Hange’s division and I’m proud to say that I’m pretty good at it inspite of Erwin trying his best to keep me safe during most expeditions. Right now I’m on my way to Erwin’s office; he said that he has some important matters to discuss with me. I am worried about him since the time he got his hand ripped off by a titan while trying to save some of his cadets. He really is an amazing commander and a smart one at that too.

I was talking to myself that I didn’t notice that I arrived at his office. I knocked on his door when I heard him speaking with someone. But I couldn’t make out what exactly they were talking about. “Name and business?” I heard Erwin asking.

“It’s V and you called me here to discuss some important matters…” I replied but my voice trailed off towards the end. I felt nervous almost as if my life would change once I entered the office. But I pushed through and entered when I heard Erwin say, “Come in”.

When I entered I saw Le- no Captain Levi standing in front of the desk with a strange expression on his face almost as if he was surprised but also kind of relieved for some reason. But as soon as he saw me enter the office, his expression went back to neutral emotionless, cold face. His bluish grey eyes looked at me for a second before he sat back down in the chair and took a sip of his tea. I looked at Erwin and then sat at the chair in front of him and adjacent to Captain Levi. For almost two minutes no one said anything and Erwin avoided my eyes, almost as if he was hesitating on saying whatever he wanted to say.

Letting Go (Levi Ackerman Series) Part 1

“I don’t have all day you know…I have to go to Wall Sina and give a report to Commander Pixis on behalf of Hange” I said deciding to end the awkward silence in the room. I saw Captain Levi looking at me through the corner of his eyes but decided not to comment on it.

Erwin let a deep sigh as see looked back up into my eyes and started, “V…you know I love you and I only want the best for you.” He looked at the window at the far right of his office and hesitated before continuing, “I want you to marry Levi”. I was shocked to say the least and I just stared ahead at the wall behind Erwin and zoned out. My thoughts were running a million miles an hour. I didn’t know what to do, I didn’t know what to say and it felt as if I was having an out of body experience. You might think that I’m overreacting and some might even think I’m under reacting. But that’s because people don’t know my history with Captain Levi not even Erwin knows, the only people that do know are me, Captain Levi, Hange, Furlan and Isabel.

Suddenly I saw Erwin trying to get my attention so I looked at him and tried to say something but no words would come out of my mouth. He sighed, “I’m sorry if it seems like I’m forcing something on you but I want to see you happy. You have never dated anyone and it doesn’t seem like you’re even interested in someone but I really want you to be happy and settled in case I don’t happen to be here anymore. In the last expedition when the titan bit my hand off I felt like that was going to be my last few moments and it really scared me, not just for my well being but for yours. I know you can take care of yourself and you’re an independent woman but I want to be at peace when I die knowing that you have someone’s shoulder to cry on and look after you…and I think Levi is the best choice because not only is he a capable captain but also my closest friend. Please V…marry him.”

The more he kept speaking, the more I started feeling sick but I know he’s very stubborn and also that he won’t take no for an answer. I turned to look at Captain Levi and saw him looking at his tea intently, swirling it around occasionally. I wanted to say no, I wanted to run away but then I was reminded of how Erwin looked after me all these years, saved me from my past and gave me memories to hold onto when I lost hope and it was at that moment that I knew what my answer was……..
