Роберт МакГиннис  - американский художник и иллюстратор. В первую очередь МакГиннис известен своими иллюстрациями обложек книг,число которых составляет около 1200 и более чем 40 афиш для фильмов,наиболее известные из которых афиши к фильмам про Джеймса Бонда.

Robert Edward McGinnis родился в Цинцинати в 1926 году, а вырос в сельском Вайоминге, штата Огайо. Его талант, как художника, вначале, поддержал его отец, который помог сыну нарисовать его любимого мультипликационного персонажа морячка Попая. Мать Роберта, Милдред, не отставала от отца и настаивала на том, чтобы её сын посещал уроки рисунка, проводимые по субботам в Музее Искусств Цинциннати. После окончания школы, Макгиннис автостопом добрался до Калифорнии, где начал работать на студии Уолта Диснея, в качестве ученика, рисуя Микки Мауса и других персонажей мультфильмов, он учился искусству анимации. В 1985 Роберту МакГиннису, за его работы, журналом «Romantic Times» был присвоен титул:«Romantic Artist of the Year».

Robert McGinnis is an American artist and illustrator. McGinnis is primarily known for his illustrations of book covers, of which there are approximately 1,200, and for more than 40 film posters, the most famous of which are those for the James Bond films.

Robert Edward McGinnis was born in Cincinnati in 1926 and grew up in rural Wyoming, Ohio. His talent as an artist was initially supported by his father, who helped his son draw his favorite cartoon character, Popeye the sailor. Robert's mother, Mildred, did not lag behind his father and insisted that her son attend drawing classes held on Saturdays at the Cincinnati Museum of Art. After graduating from high school, McGinnis hitchhiked to California, where he began working at Walt Disney Studios as an apprentice, drawing Mickey Mouse and other cartoon characters, learning the art of animation. In 1985, Robert McGinnis was awarded the title "Romantic Artist of the Year" by Romantic Times magazine for his work.

Снежный барс, или ирбис — одна из самых малоизученных диких кошек во всём мире. На 2020 год популяция зверя во всём мире составляет от 2,7 до 3,3 тысячи особей — это невероятно мало, — но точной численности не знает никто.  Исследовать ирбиса сложно из-за труднодоступности мест обитания и скрытного образа жизни. Животное любит высокогорную местность, крутые каменистые скалы: максимальная высота, на которой был обнаружен барс — 6 000 метров, но чаще всего они живут на высоте 1 500 – 4 000 метров над уровнем моря. Некоторые интересные факты об этом прекрасном хищнике:

*Снежный барс, в отличие от других диких кошек, не умеет рычать. 

* У барсов очень длинный хвост, который составляет три четверти длины его тела и кажется очень массивным, но на самом деле он просто пушистый.

*Средний размер взрослого барса — 45–55 кг, 2–2,5 метра с учётом длинного хвоста и чуть больше полуметра в холке.

*В отличие от своих более крупных сородичей — льва, тигра, леопарда и ягуара, которые весьма опасны для человека, ирбис почти безобиен.

*Несмотря на своё название, снежные барсы не любят ходить по глубокому рыхлому снегу и передвигаются в основном по проторенным тропам.

*Барсы могут побороть добычу, в три раза больше его самого: они выскакивают из укрытия и прыжками в 6–7 метров настигают её. Не поймав добычу сразу, ирбисы могут погнаться за ней, но не дальше 300 метров, а иногда решают и вовсе не преследовать её.

The snow leopard is one of the most poorly studied wild cats in the world. As of 2020, the population of the animal worldwide ranges from 2.7 to 3.3 thousand individuals - this is incredibly small - but no one knows the exact number. *The average size of an adult leopard is 45–55 kg, 2–2.5 meters including the long tail and a little more than half a meter at the withers.

*Unlike its larger relatives - the lion, tiger, leopard and jaguar, which are very dangerous to humans, the snow leopard is almost harmless.

*Despite their name, snow leopards do not like to walk on deep, loose snow and move mainly along beaten paths.

*Leopards can overcome prey three times larger than themselves: they jump out of cover and overtake it with jumps of 6–7 meters. Having not caught the prey right away, snow leopards can chase it, but not further than 300 meters, and sometimes they decide not to chase it at all.

Уиллоуби-старший ( 15.10.16 - 04.02.84). Уиллоуби окончил Школу изящных искусств Национальной академии искусств в Нью-Йорке за два года, а не за традиционные четыре года. Он был автором и иллюстратором книги «Дым на ветрах», опубликованной Swallow Press, о своем более чем 25-летнем опыте среди хопи («Люди мира»). Один рецензент назвал его «наблюдателем, который действительно активно участвует». Все эти годы он также провел среди своих друзей-навахо. Уиллоби получил степень бакалавра искусств в философии. Он также имел степень доктора философии и любил называть ее «прикладной социальной этикой».

Трое детей Уиллоуби запустили сайт об искусстве в память о своем отце и матери, Эйлин-старшей (26.06.21 - 24.03.10). Его дети — Тор-старший, писатель-художник и мастер-плотник; Дон Сеньор-Траск и Ленор Старший. Его семья также издает серию книг, в которых представлены произведения искусства и сочинения Уиллоби, в том числе «Песни юности», «Песни о любви» и «Большой рогатой сове, приди ко мне на порог, умирая».

Willoughby Senior (10/15/16 - 02/04/84). Willoughby graduated from the School of Fine Arts of the National Academy of Arts in New York in two years rather than the traditional four years. He was the author and illustrator of the book "Smoke on the Winds", published by Swallow Press, about his more than 25 years of experience among the Hopi ("People of the World"). One reviewer called him "an observer who is truly involved." He also spent all these years among his Navajo friends. Willoughby received a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy. He also had a PhD and liked to call it “applied social ethics.”

The three Willoughby children launched an art website in memory of their father and mother, Aileen Senior. (06/26/21 - 03/24/10). His children are Thor Senior , a writer-artist and master carpenter; Don Senior-Trask and Lenore Senior . His family also publishes a series of books featuring Willoughby's art and writings, including Songs of Youth, Love Songs and Great Horned Owl, Come to My Doorstep Dying.

Большой ржавеющий дракон в заброшенном аквапарке Вьетнама.

Аквапарк The Ho Thuy Tien открылся в 2004 году на окраине города Хюэ, что в центральном Вьетнаме. На момент открытия он был ещё не достроен. Но из-за своей нерентабельности аквапарк был вскоре закрыт.

За какие-то 10 лет парк развлечений пришел в упадок. Полопавшаяся краска, гостевые домики остались без крыш, горки, затянутые лианами - и над всем этим возвышается мрачная трехэтажная фигура дракона, который обвил куполообразное сооружение посреди озера. Раньше там были аквариумы, а сейчас - ржавчина, граффити и отвалившаяся краска. Бывший аквапарк нынче зарос травой и деревьями, и на его территории одно время водились крокодилы. Одно время проходила информация о том, что аквапарк хотели отреставрировать к 2013-2014 году, однако из этого так ничего и не вышло и обещания остались лишь обещаниями.

The Ho Thuy Tien water park opened in 2004 on the outskirts of the city of Hue, in central Vietnam. At the time of opening it was not yet completed. But due to its unprofitability, the water park was soon closed.

In just 10 years, the amusement park fell into disrepair. Peeled paint, guest houses left without roofs, slides covered with vines - and above all this rises the gloomy three-story figure of a dragon, which has entwined a domed structure in the middle of the lake. There used to be aquariums there, but now there is rust, graffiti and peeling paint. The former water park is now overgrown with grass and trees, and at one time there were crocodiles on its territory. At one time there was information that they wanted to restore the water park by 2013-2014, but nothing came of it and the promises remained just promises.

Русский художник, представитель символизма и модерна,  Иван Мясоедов (1881, Харьков – 1953, Буэнос-Айрес) родился в семье  знаменитого художника-передвижника Григория Мясоедова. Был внебрачным сыном художника Григория Мясоедова и художницы Ивановой. Еще ребенком Иван Мясоедов начал учиться рисованию в частной школе, организованной его отцом. В 15 поступил в Московское училище живописи, позднее — в Императорскую Академию художеств. Он мало чем походил на своего отца, и никакой преемственности в искусстве  не было. Все, что было мило Григорию Мясоедову, Иван Мясоедов презирал (и наоборот). Его привлекали мифологические сюжеты, эпический размах, подвиги, боги, герои — все то, от чего бежали передвижники. Художник Иван Мясоедов был прекрасным профессиональным гравером, что стало причиной большой беды. Проживая с женой в бедствующей Германии в 20-е годы, он рисовал и печатал английские фунты- за что и был арестовыван как фальшивомонетчик. Три года Иван проводит в Моабитской тюрьме, где  расписывает тюремную церковь.  Выйдя на свободу, он пишет целый ряд ностальгических полотен и в 1938 году бежит с семьей в Лихтенштейн по поддельному чешскому паспорту (сам «нарисовал») на имя «профессора Зотова». В княжестве Иван Мясоедов стал придворным художником, создал великолепные эскизы почтовых марок. В Лихтенштейне художник вновь попал под арест за подделку  государственных кредитных бумаг, а всю его семью лишили гражданства княжества.  После непродолжительного заключения Мясоедов с семьей в 1953 году переезжает в Аргентину.  По приезду в Буэнос-Айрес Иван Мясоедов внезапно тяжело заболел и умер  от рака печени. Ему было 73 года.

Russian artist, representative of symbolism and modernism, Ivan Myasoedov (1881, Kharkov - 1953, Buenos Aires) was born in the family of the famous Itinerant artist Grigory Myasoedov. He was the illegitimate son of the artist Grigory Myasoedov and the artist Ivanova. As a child, Ivan Myasoedov began to study drawing at a private school organized by his father. At 15 he entered the Moscow School of Painting, and later the Imperial Academy of Arts. He was little like his father, and there was no continuity in art. Everything that was nice to Grigory Myasoedov, Ivan Myasoedov despised (and vice versa). He was attracted by mythological stories, epic scope, exploits, gods, heroes - everything that the Wanderers fled from.

The artist Ivan Myasoedov was an excellent professional engraver, which caused great trouble. Living with his wife in poverty-stricken Germany in the 1920s, he drew and printed English pounds, for which he was arrested as a counterfeiter. Ivan spends three years in Moabit prison, where he paints the prison church. Upon his release, he painted a whole series of nostalgic canvases and in 1938 he fled with his family to Liechtenstein using a fake Czech passport (he “drew it” himself) in the name of “Professor Zotov.”

In the principality, Ivan Myasoedov became a court artist and created magnificent sketches of postage stamps. In Liechtenstein, the artist was again arrested for forging government credit papers, and his entire family was deprived of citizenship of the principality. After a short imprisonment, Myasoedov and his family moved to Argentina in 1953. Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, Ivan Myasoedov suddenly became seriously ill and died of liver cancer. He was 73 years old.

Колючая кустарниковая гадюка (Atheris) — род ядовитых змей, обитающий в тропических лесах Южной Африки в таких странах, как Конго, юго-восточной Уганде и западной Кении. Считается одной из самых красивых гадюк, благодаря впечатляющей изогнутой чешуе в форме колючек, имеющей яркий разноцветный окрас.  Благодаря такому необычному строению чешуек, придающим змее щетинистый вид, она становится похожей на сказочных грозных драконов, поэтому сильно ценится среди владельцев искусственных террариумов. Ярко окрашенные колючие гадюки (желтые, красные или серые) редко встречаются в дикой природе.

Самцы колючей кустарниковой гадюки достигают в длину до 75 сантиметров, а самки — до 60 сантиметров. Колючая гадюка — живородящее пресмыкающееся, в среднем самка рожает до 12 детенышей за один раз, длина которых составляет около 15 сантиметров. Змея отлично лазит по кустарникам, небольшим деревьям и крупным цветам. Охотится, в основном, в ночное время на лягушек, ящериц, жуков и мелких млекопитающих. Человеку лучше избегать встреч с этой гадюкой, поскольку она относится к ядовитым змеям. Яд этой гадюки содержит нейротоксин с большой порцией цитотоксина. Поэтому, если колючая кустарниковая гадюка укусит человека, то его мышцы не только парализует, а приводит к сильному кровотечению внутренних органов.

The spiny bush viper (Atheris) is a genus of venomous snakes found in the tropical forests of South Africa in countries such as Congo, southeastern Uganda and western Kenya. Considered one of the most beautiful vipers, thanks to its impressive curved, spine-shaped scales, which have a bright multi-colored color. Thanks to this unusual structure of scales, which gives the snake a bristly appearance, it becomes similar to fairy-tale formidable dragons, and therefore is highly valued among owners of artificial terrariums. Brightly colored spiny vipers (yellow, red or gray) are rarely found in the wild.

Males of the spiny bush viper reach a length of up to 75 centimeters, and females - up to 60 centimeters. The spiny viper is a viviparous reptile; on average, a female gives birth to up to 12 young at a time, which are about 15 centimeters long. The snake is excellent at climbing bushes, small trees and large flowers.It hunts mainly at night on frogs, lizards, beetles and small mammals. It is better for a person to avoid encounters with this viper, since it is a poisonous snake. The venom of this viper contains a neurotoxin with a large portion of cytotoxin. Therefore, if a spiny bush viper bites a person, then his muscles will not only paralyze, but lead to severe bleeding of internal organs.
