Колючая кустарниковая гадюка (Atheris) — род ядовитых змей, обитающий в тропических лесах Южной Африки в таких странах, как Конго, юго-восточной Уганде и западной Кении. Считается одной из самых красивых гадюк, благодаря впечатляющей изогнутой чешуе в форме колючек, имеющей яркий разноцветный окрас.  Благодаря такому необычному строению чешуек, придающим змее щетинистый вид, она становится похожей на сказочных грозных драконов, поэтому сильно ценится среди владельцев искусственных террариумов. Ярко окрашенные колючие гадюки (желтые, красные или серые) редко встречаются в дикой природе.

Самцы колючей кустарниковой гадюки достигают в длину до 75 сантиметров, а самки — до 60 сантиметров. Колючая гадюка — живородящее пресмыкающееся, в среднем самка рожает до 12 детенышей за один раз, длина которых составляет около 15 сантиметров. Змея отлично лазит по кустарникам, небольшим деревьям и крупным цветам. Охотится, в основном, в ночное время на лягушек, ящериц, жуков и мелких млекопитающих. Человеку лучше избегать встреч с этой гадюкой, поскольку она относится к ядовитым змеям. Яд этой гадюки содержит нейротоксин с большой порцией цитотоксина. Поэтому, если колючая кустарниковая гадюка укусит человека, то его мышцы не только парализует, а приводит к сильному кровотечению внутренних органов.

The spiny bush viper (Atheris) is a genus of venomous snakes found in the tropical forests of South Africa in countries such as Congo, southeastern Uganda and western Kenya. Considered one of the most beautiful vipers, thanks to its impressive curved, spine-shaped scales, which have a bright multi-colored color. Thanks to this unusual structure of scales, which gives the snake a bristly appearance, it becomes similar to fairy-tale formidable dragons, and therefore is highly valued among owners of artificial terrariums. Brightly colored spiny vipers (yellow, red or gray) are rarely found in the wild.

Males of the spiny bush viper reach a length of up to 75 centimeters, and females - up to 60 centimeters. The spiny viper is a viviparous reptile; on average, a female gives birth to up to 12 young at a time, which are about 15 centimeters long. The snake is excellent at climbing bushes, small trees and large flowers.It hunts mainly at night on frogs, lizards, beetles and small mammals. It is better for a person to avoid encounters with this viper, since it is a poisonous snake. The venom of this viper contains a neurotoxin with a large portion of cytotoxin. Therefore, if a spiny bush viper bites a person, then his muscles will not only paralyze, but lead to severe bleeding of internal organs.

Остров Межной расположен в Кенозерском национальном парке  в Архангельской области. Территория парка представляет собой природный и историко-культурный комплекс, расположенный в юго-западной части Архангельской области, его западная граница проходит по границе с Республикой Карелия. В 2004 году Кенозерский национальный парк получил статус биосферного заповедника и был включён в Список биосферных резерватов ЮНЕСКО. С 2014 года является кандидатом на включение в список объектов Всемирного наследия.

Кенозерье называют озёрным краем — территория Парка имеет развитую гидрографическую сеть и насчитывает 251 озеро, 67 ручьёв и речек. Каждый из многочисленных водоёмов Парка открывает свою неповторимую красоту в изгибах берегов, плеске волн, цвете воды.  Площадь Кенозера — 68,6 км², с островами — 99,4 км². Всего островов — 70! Берега и холмистые острова озера покрыты сосново-еловым и сосново-берёзовым лесом. Есть по берегам и пляжи с чудесным белым песком.

Each of the Park’s numerous reservoirs reveals its unique beauty in the curves of the banks, the splash of waves, and the color of the water. The area of ​​Kenozero is 68.6 km², with islands - 99.4 km². There are 70 islands in total! The shores and hilly islands of the lake are covered with pine-spruce and pine-birch forests. There are also beaches with wonderful white sand along the shores.

Мрачно-фантастические работы выдающегося польского художника Здзислава Бексиньского. (Zdzisław Beksiński)

Очарование мрачных картин польского художника второй половины ХХ века Здзислава Бексиньского представляет собой нетипичный вариант сюрреализма с ярко выраженной апокалиптичной тематикой. Бексиньский стал известен своим уникальным и мрачно-фантастическим стилем. Его картины в основном созданы с использованием масляных красок на оргалитовых панелях, которые он подготавливал сам. Произведения Бексиньского, насыщенные темными тонами и пугающими образами, привлекают внимание зрителей своей глубиной и оригинальностью.

В работах Бексиньского часто присутствуют непонятные и загадочные персонажи, создающие атмосферу невероятного и потустороннего. Здзислав Бексиньский получил известность в Западной Европе, Японии и США. Он говорил, что он творит в одной из двух манер: барочной и готической. В первой преобладало содержание, а во второй – форма.Во время своего "фантастического" периода Бексиньский говорил: «Я хотел бы рисовать в такой манере, словно это сфотографированные сны».

Сам Бексиньский погиб в собственной варшавской квартире, где его обнаружили с семнадцатью колотыми ранами в феврале 2005 года. Виновным признали 19-летнего сына коменданта дома, в котором жил художник. Причиной нападения стал отказ Бексиньского дать денег в долг. Художник остается одним из самых влиятельных и инновационных представителей современного искусства, продолжая вдохновлять новое поколение художников своим неповторимым стилем и философией.

The charm of the dark paintings of the Polish artist of the second half of the twentieth century, Zdzislaw Beksinski, represents an atypical version of surrealism with a pronounced apocalyptic theme. Beksinski became known for his unique and darkly fantastic style. His paintings are mainly created using oil paints on hardboard panels, which he prepared himself. Beksiński's works, rich in dark tones and frightening images, attract the attention of viewers with their depth and originality.

Beksinski's works often feature incomprehensible and mysterious characters, creating an atmosphere of the incredible and otherworldly. Abstraction and realism are intertwined in his works, giving them a special charm and mystery. The artist explored themes of death, destruction and loneliness, conveying these emotions through every stroke of the brush. Beksinski skillfully combined darkness with beauty, creating amazing images that make us think about the meaning of life and its frailty. He once said: “It is what appears in your soul that matters, not what your eyes see.”

Zdzisław Beksiński gained fame in Western Europe, Japan and the USA. He said that he creates in one of two styles: baroque and gothic. In the first, content predominated, and in the second, form. During his “fantastic” period, Beksiński said: “I would like to paint in such a manner as if they were photographed dreams.”

Beksinski himself died in his Warsaw apartment, where he was found with seventeen stab wounds in February 2005. The 19-year-old son of the commandant of the house where the artist lived was found guilty. The reason for the attack was Beksinski's refusal to lend money. The artist remains one of the most influential and innovative representatives of contemporary art, continuing to inspire a new generation of artists with his unique style and philosophy.

Большой Каньон в Гренландии — самый длинный каньон на Земле, расположенный подо льдом Гренландии. Впервые о Ледяном Каньоне было опубликовано в августе 2013 года учёными из Бристольского, Калгарийского и Урбинского университетов.

Ледяной Каньон – холодная, но притягательная достопримечательность мира. Ледяная река несет холодную и удивительно прозрачную воду из древних ледников прямиком в океан, образуя на своем пути фантастические каньоны.  Большой каньон Гренландии расположен на северо-восточном побережье острова, вдоль берега Медвежьей бухты.  Он берет свое начало в центре острова и тянется до его северного побережья. Протяженность каньона – больше 750 километров. Глубина расселины достигает 800 метров, а ширина – 10 километров (масштабы напоминают Большой каньон в Колорадо). V-образные стены и плоское дно каньона говорят о том, что его создала вода, а не лёд. Как считают исследователи, примерно 4 млн лет назад гренландский мегаканьон мог быть руслом реки. Его образование позволяет объяснить, почему подо льдом Гренландии не возникли подледные озера, как это произошло в Антарктиде.

Ice Canyon is a cold but attractive landmark of the world. The icy river carries cold and surprisingly clear water from ancient glaciers straight into the ocean, forming fantastic canyons along its way. The Grand Canyon of Greenland is located on the northeast coast of the island, along the shore of Bear Bay. It originates in the center of the island and stretches to its northern coast.The length of the canyon is more than 750 kilometers. The depth of the chasm reaches 800 meters and the width is 10 kilometers (the scale is reminiscent of the Grand Canyon in Colorado). The V-shaped walls and flat bottom of the canyon indicate that it was created by water, not ice. According to researchers, about 4 million years ago, the Greenland megacanyon could have been a river bed. Its formation helps explain why subglacial lakes did not arise under the ice of Greenland, as happened in Antarctica.

During northern lights season, the Grand Ice Canyon transforms into a magical place where ice formations reflect the light of the northern lights, creating a unique light show in the icy landscape.

Мохноногий сыч  один из самых миниатюрных представителей семейства совиных. Размер птицы в среднем не превышает размера голубя и вес пернатого не превышает 200 г. Длина представителей подвида может колебаться от 21 до 27 см. Размах крыльев – 55-62 см. длина хвоста колеблется от 7 до 11 см. Продолжительность жизни в естественных условиях – 5-7 лет. В неволе живет несколько дольше. Птицы, воспитанные в неволе хорошо приручаются. Но получить потомство в таких условиях чрезвычайно сложно. Получить птенцов удается очень редко.

Мохноногий сыч предпочитает селиться в горной или равнинной местности. Очень важно наличие хвойных растений, хотя часто встречается и в мешаных лесах. Сыч ведет оседлый образ жизни, но если наступает холод, то может мигрировать в более южные районы, богатые на добычу. В том случае, когда такой возможности нет, и сыч зимует там, где обитает, то предпочитает держаться ближе к человеческим поселениям.
