     𝐬𝐡𝐞  𝐰𝐚𝐬  𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫  𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞  𝐰𝐡𝐨  𝐰𝐚𝐬  𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝  𝐚𝐭  𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐲,     whether  that  be  physical  or  emotional.     she  had  relied  on  elena  to  be  the  one  to  navigate  her  through  their  more  difficult  moments  and  in  most  of  her  past  relationships,  she  would  just  remove  herself  from  the  situation  and  wait  till  the  heightened  emotions  had  calmed  down,  then  she  would  find  another  way  to  make  it  up  to  them  in  a  different  way.     sex  was     𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲     but  intimacy  scared  the  shit  out  of  her.     except  if  it  scared  her,  it  practically  left  ben  frozen  and  he  was  looking  to  her  help  him  through  this.     which  was  why  she  had  to  push  through  those  feelings  that  made  her  uncomfortable  and  help  him,  she  wanted  this,  she  wanted  him  more  than  she  ever  could've  expected.     knowing  how  difficult  it  was  for  him  to  talk  about  his  own  feelings,  but  he  was  trying,  made  it  easier  for  her  to  be  able  to  be  honest.     after  losing  elena  and  having  so  many     𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐬     about  how  things  went  down,  how  she  had  missed  out  on  not  saying  anything  about  how  she  feels,  she  wouldn't  let  that  happen  again  because  she  knows  elena  would've  wanted  her  to  keep  fighting  and  to  keep  loving  someone.

     𝐛𝐞𝐧  𝐰𝐚𝐬  𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝  𝐚𝐧𝐝  𝐬𝐡𝐞  𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫  𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭  𝐬𝐡𝐞  𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝'𝐯𝐞  𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧  𝐟𝐨𝐫  𝐡𝐢𝐦.     sure,  he  was a  good  and  fun  fuck,  but  falling  in  love  was  the  part  she  didn't  expect,  it  caught  her  off  guard  and  at  first,  it  made  her  feel  like  she  was  losing  it.     realising  that  she  didn't  want  anything  to  happen  to  him  made  her  feel  sick  at  first,  she  knew  that  if  she  felt  like  this,  it  meant  that  she  had  something  to     𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞     and  she  already  felt  like  she  had  lost  so  much.     she  didn't  realise  when  she  sent  butcher  and  the  boys  to  russia  that  would've  meant  they  would  find  soldier  boy.     she  had  believed  he  was  gone,  just  like  everything  one  else  and  then  he  comes,  it  shifted  everything  and  gave  them  some  sort  of  hope  that  they  could  actually  stop  ares.     but  as  much  as  she  was  scared  to  lose  him,  she  felt  better  going  into  any  fight  knowing  he  was  at  her  side.     they  worked  well  together,  better  than  anyone  had  ever  expected,  they  were     𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐲     and  fierce,  it  was  something  she  had  craved  without  realising  she  needed  it.     sure,  her  and  homelander  could  work  well  together,  but  he  had  been selfish  in  a  way  that  meant  there  wasn't  always  room  for  anyone  else.     which  she  had  been  worried  that  soldier  boy  would  be  the  same,  but  he  wasn't  and  the  two  of  them  just  seemed  to  know  exactly  what  the  other  was  thinking  in  a  fight,  able  to  finish  a  move  and  it  was  seamless.     he  may  have  been  unexpected,  but  now  she  would  do     𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠     to  keep  him  in  her  life  and  at  her  side.

     𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐞  𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬  𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐥𝐲  𝐚𝐬  𝐡𝐞  𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐬  𝐡𝐞𝐫  𝐮𝐩  𝐭𝐨  𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐬  𝐡𝐞𝐫  𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝,     her  hand  resting  on  his  chest  and  she  can  feel  the  shift  when  he  talked  about  russia  and  she  could  only  imagine  what  he  had  gone  through.     she  would  do  whatever  she  had  to  do  to  ensure  that  he  never  ended  up  in  a  place  like  that  again,  that  he  would  get  to  have  his  freedom  and  enjoy  his  life.     he  would've  fucking  earned  it  if  they  were  able  to  actually     𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩     ares  and  his  washed  up  version  of  the  seven.     when  he  cups  her  cheek  and  his  eyes  meet  hers,  she  can  feel  the  way  her  heart  is  racing  against  her  own  chest  and  she  almost  wishes  she  couldn't  feel  it,  it  was  distracting  and  all  she  wanted  to  do  was  hear  him  right  now.     yet  she  couldn't  help  but  blink  in  surprise  as  he  called  her  maggie,  a  name  that  felt  like  it  belonged  to  a  stranger  considering  how  many  people  called  her  maeve  over  anything  else.     his  words  meant  more  to  her  than  she  knew  how  to  say,  she  just  smiled  softly  before  moving  from  where  she  was,  straddling  his  hips  and  hands  move  up  to  cup  his  face  as  she  kisses  him  with  a  soft  groan.

     𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤  𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐲  𝐚𝐧𝐝  𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐡𝐞𝐫  𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝  𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭  𝐡𝐢𝐬,     feeling  vulnerable  but  she  knew  that  if  he  could  try,  so  would  she.     ben  was  right,  this  was  forever  and  she  wouldn't  ever  take  that  for  granted  again,     "     i  love  you,  ben.     you  and  me?     this  isn't  exactly  what  i  ever  expected,  but  i  don't  want  to  go  anywhere  without  you,     "     maggie  admits  softly,  teeth  pulling  on  her  bottom  lip  as  she  pulled  back  enough  to  look  over  him  properly.     he  was     𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥,     a  mess  of  dark  hair,  those  green  eyes  that  she  couldn't  stop  looking  at,  the  scruff  of  facial  hair  that  she  just  loved.     she  had  always  thought  he  was  attractive,  like  she  wasn't  blind  or  stupid,  but  seeing  him  in  person  and  getting  to  know  him,  he  became  so  much  more  to  her  than  just  the  hero  of  heroes  that  he  had  always  been.     maggie  knew  this  was  it,  he  was  her  forever  person  and  she  knew  elena  would've  wanted  this  for  her.     one  of  her  hand  moves  through  his  hair  as  she  moves  to  kiss  him  again,  this  time  soft  and  gentle  in  a  way  that  made  her  heart  almost  skipped  a  beat,     "     look,  i  don't  know  what  the  fuck  is  gonna  happen  with  ares.     but  when  this  shit  is  over,  or  whatever  happens,  as  long  as  we're  together     -     nothing  can  stop  us,  okay?     "

     𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤  𝐭𝐨  𝐥𝐚𝐲  𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞  𝐡𝐢𝐦  𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧,     leaning  on  her  elbow  as  she  looked  at  him,  sighing  softly,     "     speaking  of  ares  and  trying  to  stop  him,  i  have  a  crazy  suggestion  that  i  know  butcher  is  gonna  hate  and  it  might  be  impossible  to  even  do  but,     "     maggie  knew  that  if  anyone  would  listen  to  her  and  have  her  back  on  any  suggestion,  it  absolutely  would  be  ben.     but  she  also  knew  that  she  would  need  to  get  the  others  to  agree  before  even  taking  it  to  butcher,     "     i  think  we  need  to  try  and  find  homelander  and  starlight.     they  disappeared  but  they're  not  dead,  at  least  i  want  to  believe  they're  not,     "     she  tells  him,  looking  away  for a  moment  because  it  really  did  sound  insane  even  to  her,  despite  it  being  her  idea.     starlight  would  be  an  easy  sell,  but  homelander?     he  would  be  the     𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭  𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧     butcher  would  ever  want  to  ask  for  help.     but  she  knew  if  they  wanted  to  stop  ares,  they  needed  him,  even  if  it  pained  her  to  admit  it.     as  much  as  he  had  put  her  through  hell  over  the  years,  she  knew  that  strength  was  very  much  needed  right  now,     "     homelander  may  be  the  only  person,  apart  from  you,  who  is  strong  enough  to  stop  ares     .     .     .     we're  going  to  need  him,     "
