Hello again! (update under the cut)

I haven’t posted much in the last few months (although I have been enjoying everyones’ content).  I hadn’t intended to go on hiatus but life just got in the way.  I had no time to play or create new content and truthfully I was feeling lackluster about the game but with the exciting news about Seasons and a bit more free time, I’ll be posting more.  Thanks to everyone for sticking with me!

1. What is your favorite season? It’s a tie between Spring & Autumn. 🌸🍃

2. Do you prefer warmer or colder weather?  Colder weather; I get really grumpy when it’s too hot.

3. What do you do on a rainy day?  Nest at home… reading books or magazines in bed while listening to the sound of rain outside my window or every so often throwing on my rainboots and splashing in puddles. 🌧️

4. How is a typical winter where you live? Cold or not?  It never truly feels like winter where I live in Northern California (no snow, ever) but it does get chilly during the night.

5. Have you ever experienced snow?  Yes, it’s magical.  ❄️

6. True or false? “I LOVE RAIN!” True, but only when I can stay indoors. ☔

7. What is your go to food in the summer?  Fruit, salads, and paletas (especially strawberry, watermelon, or pineapple).

8. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?  Pistachio, caramel fleur de sel, Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food.  🍦

9. Coffee, tea or cocoa? EVERYTHING?  Definitely everything (also add hot apple cider).  ☕️

10. Describe your favorite seasonal clothing item?  The minute I feel the slightest hint of Autumn, I’m eagerly anticipating all the cozy, warm sweater coats, scarves, and boots.   🍂

11. What is your favorite Holiday?  Christmas and Halloween

12. If you were a season, which one would you be?  Autumn  🍁

The questions are as follows:

1. The boss of EA is in front of you asking for one statement about The Sims before he goes away and makes TS5. What do you say to him?

Please take your time developing TS5 and create a fully-formed game that takes inspiration from the best features of the past games: open world, CASt, more content, more building tools, more worlds, deeper gameplay, etc.  I know it may be a tall order… but be motivated to create the best game possible, listen and value long-time players’ ideas and suggestions, give the developers carte blanche to unleash their creativity, and invest in the future of this game instead of being driven solely by profit (although I actually think these changes would result in higher profits).

2. Do your Sims know you as their Sim God or are you the invisible deity to them? Well I am kind of omniscient and omnipotent in my game, at least when there’s no game bugs throwing me for a loop.  But I like to let my sims have some autonomy too; it results in some spontaneous moments that are very entertaining.

3. How do you see yourself connected to your Sims? Do those of you who say you love them, really mean this? How deep is your game? It always surprises me how attached I get to my sims and how much affection I feel towards them.

4. What’s your Sims Secret? Is there something going on in your game that none of your screenshots will ever tell us? WHO IS LOCKED IN YOUR BASEMENT???? What are those secret Sims doing behind closed doors? Don’t worry – no poor sims are locked in the basement or trapped in a pool. My sim secret is that I use the motherlode cheat for every single sim I play.

5. Can we learn anything from our Sims to take away for our real lives? And/or can you give us an example of how The Sims has influenced you outside of gaming. 

Playing the sims introduced me to the sims community, which encouraged me to come out of my private shell and start a simblr to interact with other simmers.  It reminded me how important it is to have a creative outlet.  I also learned how to use Photoshop as a result of creating my blog.
