Submitting To Gods Will Should Not Be Used To Avoid Proper Consideration, Communication, And Discernment.
“Submitting to God’s will” should not be used to avoid proper consideration, communication, and discernment.
The vast majority of the time, you do not come to know the will of God for your life in a vacuum. It is not contrary to the will of God to make plans or consider what you think your ideal life might be, or even where you think God might be leading you.
Pray, think, and feel the hand of God in your life.

Happy feast day of St. Monica, whose prayers helped save my brother.
I have a lot of emotions about St. Monica, please bear with me.
My brother is a drug addict. He’s been sober for two years now, and I am so, so proud of him and grateful to God. But for years before that, I spent every day waiting for the call that he was dead. If you haven’t had a loved one in the depths of addiction like that, I’m not sure there’s words to describe the pain, the sorrow, and the fear. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
Through this, I assembled a small group of Saints to pray for my brother and my family.
I figured if St. Monica could pray until her son became a Saint and Doctor of the Church, maybe she could pray for my brother to survive. This is a woman who could understand our unimaginable pain, who wept with us every night over my brother the way she wept every night for her son.
My brother isn’t a Saint. He isn’t even Christian. But my brother is alive, he is sober, he is thriving. This is but by the grace of God, and I am so grateful for the prayers and company of St. Monica as we fought to bring him home.
St. Monica, pray for us.
I feel like too often we are not sufficiently focused on actually solving problems, because we’re too wrapped up in (1) whether we are right or (2) whether we can enforce our view of morality (or (3) our power fantasies)
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a top tier sacrament and you should go
