the idea that p1 is really just a normal guy that so happened to snap out of nowhere is so fucking boring to me, it just takes all the flavor out of his character. he's got paranoid delusions sure but that's not gonna be enough to drive someone to slaughter an entire town. there's gonna be way more to it than that and to be quiet frank if you go down the path of "the schizophrenia made him do it" that's the most baseline trite ableist take you can come up with. let him have some fucking agency over his actions.

nah, imo he was an unpalatable creep before the psychosis happened and that's why he ended up where he did. everyone writes him off as "just a quiet boy" because ppl looove to not take any closer looks at him or wonder what's goin on under the surface bc he's strange and they don't wanna bother with it.

my take is he already had the underlying tendency and desire for violence from the get-go, all the psychosis did was exacerbate what was already there and removed the tether that kept him in check. he Enjoys killing people, regardless of if he feels guilty or not. that is precisely why he's my favorite, because he's an inexcusable horror protag and that's way more interesting
