Also when people eventually open up to him, the man has no idea how to respond and generally ends up just. Not saying anything? Which certainly won't make them open up more often in the future.

I love how people think Sam is super open about his feelings and stuff when in reality the man's had exactly two long-term relationships (that we know of) and he wasn't honest with either of them. Not to mention the multiple apocalypses that have been started because he and his brother can't seem to function like normal adults.
