summary: cast member reader and drew take on poguelandia

warnings: none

disclaimer: english is not my first language so I apologize for any grammar mistakes<3

the release of season 3 was just around the corner, and as a way to interact with the fans and give the new season some promotion, the obx team had decided to launch an event where fans would be able to live a pogue experience with the cast, which created a lot of anticipation in the fan community and had everyone in the world wishing they could attend, cause everyone was gonna be there to have a good time.

y/n was a little nervous, this event was a big deal, and as she arrived at the place in the back of the van with madelyn, her palms started sweating and her heart started racing. she had just joined the obx cast last season, along with carlacia, and this was going to be one of the first big interactions she was gonna have with the cast out in public as well as with the fans. she knew fans liked her character and cheered on her as an actress, but what if that was not the case when they saw her in real life? her impostor syndrome truly winning that day.

“everything ok y/n?” Madelyn asked noticing how the girl kept looking out the window as she played with her hands, a way to cope with her anxiety.

“i’m just feeling a bit nervous, that’s all. nothing to worry about” she answered seeing how the van came to a stop in a secluded area of the event.

her friend understood, to this day, she still got nervous at events, she believed it was impossible to get used to living this life and getting that much attention.

“just breathe, we’ll all be together and you’ll have a great time, trust me” Madelyn told the girl while she gave her a comforting smile. Both girls had instantly clicked since y/n joined the series, and had been glued to each other since then, they found a best friend in each other, and their love and care could be seen in and off screen.

“is drew already here?” y/n asked getting off the van and walking to where some of the crew were giving details on what they needed everyone to be doing.

just as she finished her question the tall man appeared around the corner making her smile, he was with Austin while a couple of crew members surrounded them, looking like they had just come from looking around the event, probably interacting with some fans. As drew noticed the van, he quickly began walking towards them, locking eyes with the anxious girl who relaxed immediately after seeing him approach.

“there’s my girl” he said into smile as he closed the distance between them hugging y/n to his chest, feeling her relax under his touch. “what took you guys so long?”

drew and y/n had met while filming season two of the show, and they had immediately become really good friends, best friends someone could say. they spent a lot of time in each other’s trailers, and their chemistry and the way they looked at each other was something all their friends could notice, but for some reason, it was something that both of them didn’t seem to grasp until long after they met, cause it was just before beginning to film season 3, that they couldn’t keep denying their feelings to each other, finally deciding to be together.

the only thing is, they decided to keep it private. and it’s not that they weren’t sure they loved each other, but they were scared of the reaction of the fans, so to that day, they have been trying to keep it low key, and it’s not like much changed, I mean, ever since they met they have had this bond that had fans questioning if they were more than friends, so all they had to do was keep the pda to themselves, even though they kind of fail in the attempt.

“traffic was insane, but it definitely allowed us to make our grand entrance” said Madelyn while she looked around seeing how they were the last to arrive.

drew could feel y/n’s quick heartbeat in his chest, so looking down to her he asked “is everything ok love?” while putting her hair behind her ear in a loving way.

y/n nodded slowly looking into his eyes and giving him a small smile “just a little nervous, don’t know what to expect honestly” she admitted.

Drew held her face while giving her a small peck on the lips “it’s ok to be nervous, if I’m being honest with you, on the way here my hands were dripping sweat” he said while stroking her cheek “and I’ll be next to you for as long as you need me to”

Y/n inhaled a deep breath while nodding to her boyfriend, she knew he was being serious, after all, since they started being friends and now as a couple, all drew had ever done was made her feel comfortable and secure, always giving her words of encouragement and being there for her when she needed a shoulder to cry on or someone to have a laugh with.

Drew took her hand in between his and started to walk towards where the rest of the cast was hanging out, as well as where some crew members were giving directions as to what kind of content they needed to film . “Let’s take on poguelandia” y/n said with a smile.

After a few hours filming some content for obx’s social media, and interacting with some fans, some of the guys, along with drew and y/n decided you wanted to tag along and enjoy the music.

after your nerves and anxious thoughts had washed away after and eventful day, you let yourself enjoy the event and have fun with your friends, so after you got your drinks and arrived on the platform with the rest of the cast, you decided you were gonna enjoy the rest of the day with the people that you loved.

“feeling better already huh?” drew whispered into your ear as he stood behind you with his arm around your shoulders while he held his drink in the other hand.

you nodded while you let yourself rest your head on his chest behind you.

you two weren’t nervous about being this touchy in public, you had always been that way, which was why you always had the fans wondering if you two were friends or more than that. you had always been very comfortable around each other, and being physical with each other had felt natural from the begging, so nothing had changed about that, all you had to be careful with was no kissing in public, which was definitely hard cause it was all you two wanted to do while being around each other in the warmth of the desert.

“being around you always makes me feel better” you told him while you left a quick kiss to his arm that was still around you keeping you close to him.

drew tried to hide giddy his smile while he sipped his drink “glad to know the effect is mutual love” he answered as he rested his chin on top of your head as you both swayed together to the beat of the music playing in front of you guys.

what had started as a nerve wracking experience for you had definitely turned into one of the best days with your friends and boyfriend.

TikTok

*a fan video captured the two of you swaying to the beat of khalid’s music and drew had his arm around you and you rested your head on his chest*

a million things - rafe cameron

SUMMARY: requested by @willowpains - heyy, could I request a rafe blurb where he finds reader back on obx and apologizes for all he’s out the pogues through? they have a lil moment of tension and fluff but at the end reader just can’t seem to trust rafe again? THANK U SM<3

WORD COUNT: 1.7k

WARNINGS: curse words, angst

There were a million things that you wanted to say to Rafe Cameron.

“That’s where he was? On that boat with the cross?” you asked Sarah, after she’d just answered the many questions you had after Rafe just up and disappeared.

Sarah nodded, swinging her legs slightly off the dock you sat at. “He’s really changed y/n,” she said softly, a swift shake of her head. She knew this was something you didn’t want to hear. “I mean he’s always been an asshole, but- this is just,” she turned her head to finally look at you, “I think he’s gone, y/n. He tried to kill me, for God’s sake. He beat the hell out of Pope, he tried to kill Kie. Peterkin..” she dragged on, shutting her eyes tightly. She couldn’t bear to look at your face when she told you the man you loved, wasn’t the man you loved anymore.

You let out a breath that you’d been holding in, and the only thing you could get out was a small, “wow.”

You looked out at the ocean as you played with your hands in your lap. You knew it, deep down, everything that Sarah just said to you was true. But admitting to yourself that Rafe was the man that he’d proven to be so many times before, was the hardest thing you’d ever have to do. “Where is he now?”

“Still in Barbados,” she said, and you simply nodded. You felt Sarah’s hand on your shoulder, pulling you in for a side hug.

You rested your head in the crook of her neck, and you couldn’t help but chuckle dryly to yourself. “I should have seen it, Sarah. I just kept making excuses for him.”

Sarah let out a sigh, twirling your hair between her fingers comfortingly, “because you love him. No one blames you for loving him, y/n.”

You spent a couple minutes on the dock with Sarah, then a couple by yourself after she’d excused herself to go find John B. She’d came straight to you after getting back from the island, and she still didn’t even know if John B was back to obx.

You walked home in silence, taking the long way home. You replayed every single moment with Rafe, every good memory, and every bad memory that you’d pushed out of your mind. You’d seen it everyday, the broken side of him rising to the surface. And you stayed with him. You did everything you could to help him, to make him feel loved. Because God knows you love him. And the worst part? You still did.

You reached your street, and you walked the last couple feet with your head down to the ground. You could never, in a million years, have guess what you’d be met with when you reached the stairs of your front porch.

There were a million things that you wanted to say to Rafe Cameron.

But now that he was standing in front of you, not a single word came to mind.

His back was toward you, and his hair was different, but you knew it was him. You wanted to turn around- run in any direction before he could see you. But you were frozen in place. Your feet may has well have been cemented into the concrete.

Rafe knocked on your door loudly a couple times, still unaware you were standing no more than 10 feet behind him. It was only a moment before he sighed deeply with a defeated shake of his head, finally turning around. He made it down one step before stopping dead in his tracks. “Y/n,” your name left his mouth quicker than he even realized you were really in front of him.

He stared at you for a few moments, blinking a couple times to reassure himself you were really there. You would be lying if you said you didn’t have to do the same thing.

Before you knew it, you heard Rafe’s footsteps on the concrete steps, and then he was right in front of you.

His hand reached out to touch your arm, and you stepped back at the contact. Rafe pulled his hand back, his face falling from the small smile that had previously been on his face. “What’s wrong?” he asked softly, his blue eyes begging you to say something.

“Rafe,” you said delicately, tearing your eyes from his and down to your shoes. “I can’t do this.”

Rafe’s whole body tensed at your words and his eyes narrowed in confusion. “I don’t understand- I don’t- is this because I left?”

“No- well yes. It’s about everything Rafe. Everything you’ve done,” you forced the words out. You hated yourself for putting the look on his face that you were staring at now. That same broken look that tore you up inside every time.

“No y/n,” he said, putting his hands on your shoulders. You didn’t back away this time. “That’s why I came back, okay? I know I’ve done some awful things. I just get these thoughts in my head,” he took his hand from your right shoulder and hit his head forcefully. You flinched ever so slightly, and your eyes softened. “I just cant control it. And I’m sorry- I’m so sorry for everything. I’m so sorry I hurt Sarah,” his voice broke at her name, and he shut his eyes tightly for a moment. “And the pogues- your friends. I shouldn’t have put them through all that. The gold, the cross, all of it. I’m sorry, and I wish I could take it all back.”

You shook your head slightly, squeezing your eyes shut to think. “I want to believe you-”

“Then believe me,” he squeezed your shoulders a little, but not to tightly. “Please,” he breathed out, his eyes begging yours.

You gave into your first instinct, leaning into him and closing your arms around him in a tight hug. Rafe let out a breath of relief into your neck, goosebumps appearing all over your arms. You breathed in his scented cologne, a sense of familiarity overwhelming you.

This was the problem. All it took was his arms around you, and you immediately dismissed everything that Rafe had done. “I missed you,” he muttered into your skin, holding you even tighter.

“I missed you too,” you whispered, physically unable to keep the words in.

Rafe stayed the night at your house, and you spent the majority of the night catching up. “I’m all in with you y/n. I love you,” Rafe had whispered into your shoulder before falling asleep.

When you awoke the next morning, the side of the bed next to you was cold and empty. You sat up slowly, turning to check the clock. It was only 7:15. “Rafe?” you called out, getting no response.

You slipped out of bed, making your way down the hall, stopping abruptly when you heard Rafe’s voice. “-tonight. Yeah, it’s gonna be on the train tonight so I need you to get it,” he spoke in a hushed tone, likely to keep you from hearing. Your eyebrows furrowed, tiptoeing a little closer to hear better. “He’s trying to give it to a fucking museum, Barry. You have any idea how much this thing is worth?” Pause. A soft scoff escaped your lips when the realization hit. “Yes, fine, 50/50.”

You shook your head, beyond pissed. You turned on your heel, going back your bedroom. The floor creaked at just the wrong moment, and Rafe went dead silent. You closed your eyes tightly, mentally cursing your old-ass house. “Gotta go,” Rafe said, hanging up the phone.

You had just reached your bedroom door when you sensed his presence behind you. “Hey,” he said in a normal tone. A chillingly normal tone.

You couldn’t stop the laugh from escaping your lips, “seriously? What was that phone call about?” You crossed your arms, awaiting an excuse.

Rafe shrugged, walking past you and into your bedroom, “just business stuff.”

You stared at him in disbelief. You finally saw it. “God, Rafe,” you shook your head, walking over to him. “After everything we’ve been through you still can’t tell the truth? I just heard you on the phone. All of it,” your raised voiced, “you told me you came back for me - to apologize, right? Then why the hell are you trying to get the god damn cross back the same day you get back? Huh? And conspiring with Barry? The guy who fucking turned you into the police,” you were yelling in his face now. You couldn’t hold in your frustration anymore. Rafe stayed silent, simply staring at you, jaw clenched.

“And that’s not even the worst part. The worst part is that you lied to my face about it!” your palms made contact with his chest, pushing him back.

His eyes widened in shock, and he reached out to grab your shoulders. You pushed his arms back before he could touch you. "Stop it, Rafe! You can't just hug me and kiss me everytime I'm pissed at you and make it all better, you just can't," you shook your head, running your hands frustratingly through your hair.

He moved closer to you again, "I know, okay? I'll tell you the truth-"

You shook your head, forcefully this time. "I can't trust you to tell the truth anymore, Rafe," you spoke quieter now, your head was clear. You knew as soon as you said the words that it was the truth. You couldn't trust him. You knew what you had to do. "I’m done, Rafe. For real this time,” you added, meeting his eyes.

His mouth parted slightly, and his eyes glimmered with the realization that you were telling the truth. “No, please-” his voice cracked. The sound of that would usually make your heart clench, and you’d be right back in his arms within seconds.

But you couldn’t do it anymore.

“I’m sorry, Rafe,” you said gently, almost coldly. “But it’s over.”

You broke eye contact with him, telling yourself that it would be the last time you ever looked at Rafe Cameron with love. The more you loved him, the more you got hurt, you finally saw that.

Rafe’s arms dropped to his sides. Seconds later he practically fell to the ground, leaning against your bed. His body nearly lifeless in response to realizing it was truly over. You refused to look back.

That’s where you left him.

There were still a million things you had to say to Rafe Cameron.

But you could live without saying them.

Mastermind - Drew Starkey

SUMMARY: requested by @willowpains - could I request a drew blurb with cast mate reader based on the Taylor song mastermind?

WORD COUNT: 1.9k

WARNINGS: none

“Alright, I’m here,” you spoke into your phone quietly, shifting through the crowd of guests to get to the restroom.

“You’re sure he’ll be there?” Madeline asked you, no doubt biting her nails in anticipation to see how your plan played out.

“Absolutely,” you said with a small smirk. You let the bathroom door close before bending down to check for any other people in the restroom. You let yourself breathe when you found no occupants of the stalls.

“Where are you right now?” Madeline asked.

“In the bathroom,” you said, walking over to the mirror, giving yourself an in-depth look. You put the phone on speaker, setting it on the countertop by the sink.

“You can’t hide in the bathroom the whole time,” Madeline said.

You rolled your eyes, “I’m just making sure I look good. I can’t run into him as soon as he gets here anyways. Trust me, I know what I’m doing,” you reminded her with a small proud smile.

Madeline chuckled, “you’re right, sorry, I always forget that you’re practically a criminal mastermind. I mean seriously, how do you come up with this stuff?”

The bathroom door swung open, two ladies walking in. You gave them a friendly smile, and picked up your phone, “gotta go Mads, I’ll keep you updated.”

You adjusted the fabric of your dress one last time, mentally thanking yourself for picking the red one. Once satisfied with your appearance, you slipped your phone into your purse, and exited the bathroom.

Your eyes scanned the large room, almost immediately finding who you were looking for. Drew was dressed in a dark blue suit, that you were almost positive he’d taken from Rafe’s wardrobe. His skin was tan, much like yours, as you were just filming in the scorching sun not three days ago. You kept your eyes on him as he spoke to the guy next to him, moving cautiously closer to him while he was distracted.

You placed yourself between two people at the bar, about 4 people away from where Drew was standing.

“Vodka lemonade please,” you asked the bartender with a smile.

As soon as Drew looked to his right, he undoubtedly would see you as you innocently sipped your drink. All you had to do was wait, and make meaningless small talk with the stranger beside you.

No more than five minutes later, you felt a hand on the fabric covered part of your shoulder. “y/n?” you heard a familiar voice behind you. Your lips twitched into a smirk, and strategically changed into a shocked smile when you turned to face him. “What are you doing here?” Drew asked you, eyes trailing down your body unwillingly. He’d never seen you in a dress, so he couldn’t help himself. Exactly as you intended.

“Oh I know Melonie and she invited me last minute,” you waved off. You didn’t know Melonie. “What about you?”

“My buddy Brian invited me and I didn’t really have much else to do,” he said with a shrug. “I can’t believe you’re here,” he added with a wide smile, one that you hadn’t seen when he was speaking to his buddy Brian.

You smiled back at him, “I know, such a small world. We haven’t really seen each other much outside of set, have we?” you said as if it was the first time you’d had the thought.

Drew thought for a moment, “no we really haven’t.” A small smile played at his lips when he thought over his next words. “Seems like the universe has given us a chance to change that, eh?”

Your face flushed red and you let yourself smile, “I guess it has.”

You spoke at the bar for the better half of the night, only reminded that there were other people around you when the man playing the music had announced the last slow dance.

Your eyes met Drew’s as the music began to play, a question twinkling in Drew’s eyes. He took a couple steps toward the open area where couples had made their way to. You glanced down at his hand that was held out to you, waiting to be accepted, “shall we?”

You placed your hand in his, and God, if only you could put the feeling you got into words. If the red tint on Drew’s face and the smile on his lips was any indication, he felt it too.

You let Drew guide you to the dance floor, giddy smiles on both of your faces. Drew’s hands rested on your hips, and you placed yours around his neck comfortably. “You look gorgeous, y/n,” Drew spoke softly, eyes fixed on yours, “I should have said that earlier,” he added.

“You don’t look too bad yourself, Drew,” you returned the compliment, an ear-to-ear smile on your face.

You leaned in to rest the side of your head on his shoulder, swaying to the song you’d requested at the beginning of the night.

SIX MONTHS LATER

“You’re positive you want to meet my parents?” you asked Drew, giving him one final chance to opt out.

Drew gave you a look from the driver's seat, “well we’ve already driven 3 hours, so it might be a little late to change my mind,” he said with a grin, keeping his eyes on you for a moment. “Of course I want to meet them,” he added more seriously. “We’ve been dating for 6 months, it’s time I met the people who raised my favorite person in the world," he said sweetly, reaching over and placing his hand on your thigh comfortingly.

You let yourself relax, feeling slightly less nervous now. It was still terrifying though, Drew meeting your parents. They could be... difficult at times.

You made it to your hotel a little less than an hour before you had to be at dinner. You freshened up in the bathroom while Drew sat on the bed watching the TV.

“Almost ready, baby? We should get going,” Drew called out, standing up to get his shoes on.

You came out of the bathroom with a sigh, “I guess.”

Drew moved to you, placing his hands on your hips and pulling you in for a hug. “It’s going to be fine y/n. They’re gonna love me. I mean, what’s not to love about me?” he said into your hair.

You chuckled, shaking your head into his shoulder. “Nothing, you’re perfect. My parents are just protective, you know?”

Drew ran his hand up and down your back soothingly, “I get it. But I’ll work my charm on them and it’ll all work out,” he said confidently.

You chose to believe him, and you mustered up the courage to leave the hotel room, hand in hand with Drew.

You made it to the restaurant a couple minutes before the designated time, but you could already see your parents sitting at a table. “Oh God, they’re here,” you muttered into Drew’s shoulder, taking in a deep breath.

Drew’s arm tightened around your waist, “It’s gonna be fine, alright?” he whispered softly, pressing a kiss onto the top of your head.

You made your way over to the table, hand tightly wrapped around Drew’s. Your moms face lit up when she saw you, and she stood up to greet you immediately. You hesitatingly dropped Drew’s hand, letting your mom pull you in for a short hug, then your dad. You watched as your parents shifted over to Drew, silently praying that they behaved themselves.

“You must be Drew,” you father said, holding out his hand for a firm handshake.

Drew nodded his head curtly, a smile plastered on his face, “Mr. y/l/n,” he turned to your mom, “Mrs. y/l/n, it’s lovely to finally meet you both.”

You watched your parents exchange a look, and then smiles appear on both of their faces. Your mom pulled Drew in for a hug, and your mouth nearly dropped to the floor.

You composed yourself when Drew and your parents sat down at the table with you. “I’m so glad you two could finally come to see us,” your mom said, reaching across the table to grab your hand.

You were shocked, to say the least to witness this behavior from your parents. They were being genuinely nice. Maybe it was because it had been so long since you’d seen them?

You came out of your trance and smiled sweetly at your mom, “sorry it took so long.”

You all ordered your food, and fell into a comfortable conversation.

“So you guys had worked together for a while before you started dating, what changed?” your mom asked the two of you.

Your lips twitched into a smile as you remembered the night that changed your friendship with Drew into something much more.

You let Drew tell your parents the story while you reminisced about your greatest achievement; your most elaborate master plan.

"...it really was fate that y/n was there that night," Drew finished the story with a twinkle in his eyes.

Your mom grinned, looking between the two of you, “what a lovely story,” she said truthfully. “You’re sure it was fate? She’s always been a tricky one, that y/n,” she added, and you gave her a warning look. “Always gets what she wants,” she said with a small smirk, taking a bite of her steak.

Drew chuckled, locking eyes with you and raising his eyebrows.

“Come on Mom, don’t make me seem crazy,” you joked with a dismissive wave of your hand, “speaking of crazy, how’s aunt Jen?”

The rest of the dinner went much better than you could have ever expected. By the time your father had paid the bill, you felt like Drew and your parents got along even better than you got along with him. You'd take that over them not getting along any day.

You hugged your mom and dad goodbye, "it was great to see you guys."

"You too, sweetie," your mom said with a smile, turning to Drew. "It was great getting to know you, Drew. I sure am glad that fate brought you and my daughter together," she said, looking back at you and offering a not-so-sly wink.

“That wasn’t so bad, was it?” Drew asked you, once you’d made it to your hotel for the night.

You shook your head admittedly, taking your earrings out and placing them on the dresser, “they were like completely different people, Drew, I swear. They are never that welcoming to my boyfriends.”

Drew laid down on the bed with a sigh, a proud smile on his lips, “I’m not just any boyfriend, y/n.” He held out his arms for you to join him on the bed. You complied, rolling over his body onto the space beside him, lying halfway on his body.

You wrapped your arm around his middle, resting your head on his chest. You lied there for awhile, becoming nearly relaxed enough to fall asleep as Drew rubbed your back.

“Hey Drew,” you said, unable to stop yourself.

“Hm?”

“Remember my mom said at dinner, about the night we became more than friends?” you asked him, tilting your head up slightly to look at him.

“Mhm, I remember. Why do you ask?” he asked you.

“She was right,” you said softly, meeting his eyes, hesitantly awaiting a reaction.

Drew’s expression changed into a wide smirk, eyes twinkling with a familiar look of admiration, “I know,” he whispered.

Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, “what?” you breathed out, eyes scanning his face to see if he was telling the truth.

“I knew the whole time, baby,” he said, a satisfied smile plastered on his face, pulling you back down to lay on his chest. “It’s why I love you, my little mastermind,” he whispered into your hair.
