pairings. rafe cameron x fem!reader
about. rafe is leaving, and he feels he owes it to you to let you know
warnings. swearing and angst
ricky rocks. fat crush on rafe cameron đ»
âhey, sweetheart,â a hand lightly clamped down on your shoulder, taking you by surprised as you turned, seeing rafe and relaxing with a soft smile that he always loved so much.
âcountry club,â you smirked, âitâs been awhile.â
âmiss me?â
you rolled youâre eyes. of course you did, but you couldnât say it. it wasnât apart of the game, the taunting and teasing. admitting you missed his company and pretty face would be a humiliation of losing.. and you didnât like losing.
ânever.â
he scoffed lightly, shaking his head as he slowly eased into the seat next to you at your place at the bar. you were holding a glass of water that could be easily mistaken for straight vodka.. which is said because rafe did mistake it for the toxic drink when clasping the glass from your grip and sipping it lightly. he narrowed his brows in surprisal, questioning you as you watched him with a twinge of amusement.
âiâm cutting back.â
âoh really?â
âyeah.â
âdidnât know you were a quitter all of a sudden.â
âshut up,â you shook your head, turning your head back to the tv hinged high on the wall playing a tennis match.
he smiled, squeezing your shoulder before rubbing your back. he was hesitant about touching you when arriving and almost wanting to refrain from it, but he couldnât help himself; grazing his fingers over the skin that was slightly exposed from your lower back underneath your tight green tank top.
you eased in it, almost leaning into his warm touch of grazing his knuckles against your already hot skin, but also sending chills up your spine from the metal ring he always wore.
âyou play today?â
âmhm.â
âdid you win?â
âmhm.â
âwhyâre you cutting back?â
your eyes diverted from the television, gazing over to the glass cup that sat between you and rafe, almost empty, âi kind of blacked out and ended up somewhere i had never been to.. before.â
he shook his head, continuing to rub your back, âyou didnât call me?â
âi donât have your number, country club.â
âyes, you do.â
you shook your head, eyebrows slightly quirked.
âwhy wouldnât you have my number?â
âyou never gave it to me.â
rafe knew he didnât. there was a reason why.
âhowâd you get home?â
âtopper.â
he hummed in reply, of course, âyou shouldnât be stupid.â
âand what, be more like you?â you arched your brow and he paused with caressing your skin, âthe last time i checked, you were spending all of daddyâs money on coke.â
âdonât.â
âdonât what?â
âdonât be a brat.â
you smirked.
it was silent again and your eyes were back on the tv while his analyzed the side of your face intently, memorizing it.
âyouâre being creepy, country club.â
he hummed.
âwhyâre you being weird.â
âwhat do you mean?â
âusually.. weâre fucking or at your house, but right now youâre doing a terrible job at attempting to make small talk.â
thereâs a long silence and you almost swear you made him mad by the way he looks away from you and at the ground. but he isnât, he doesnât growl nor whisper a pointless insult or threat in your ear, he doesnât do anything but stay silent.
and it worries you.
ây/n,â he presses his lips into a thin line, âi cant see you anymore.â
âwhat?â
âi cant see you anymore. iâm going away and i donât know when iâll be back,â he avoids your stare, âi donât think i am coming back.â
âwhat, rafe, why?â your chest tightens and you feel as if youâre going to have a melt down, you didnât know why. âwhat do you mean youâre leaving?â
he looks up for a split second, enough time to recognize the hurt beginning to swarm your eyes, âsomething.. something bad happened or not really bad but- somethings come up and i have to leave.. with wheezie and rose.â
your body was now fully averted to face rafe as you were stunned and taken aback, not knowing how to consume this information.
you werenât sure why you felt this way. why you felt as if someone had dropped a million pounds on your stomach and it was getting hard to breathe from the lump forming in your throat. you knew you had some feelings for rafe, just not so much to the point someone could mistake you as love sick at this point.
âwhy?â
âhm?â
ârafe,â you paused, thinking of what you could say and you truly didnât know, but you stopped yourself from saying anything stupid or anything that would clue that you cared a lot more than you should. you slowly stood, clasping his bicep lightly, âgood luck, country club.â
you pressed a kiss on the side of his cheek before walking away, holding your breath from any noises that would indicated the pain you felt in your chest from it shattering.

best player, best bet.
pairings. hockey!jj maybank x fem!reader, hockey!rafe cameron x fem!reader
part three of four.
about. you and jj go shopping for a dress
part one, part two, part three
warnings. swearing, gif not mine, abuse :/
ricky rocks. this is to make up for the last part lol (i also hated the way this turned out tbh)
âhello?â
âhey, hockey puck.â
âmaybank.â
âdonât sound so excited,â you could hear his stupid grin from the other side of the line, it made your lips twitch slightly as you slowly sat at the edge of your bed.
âwhat do you want?â
âward called for a dinner rehearsal,â he mumbled, âi need you there.â
âwhy?â
he sighed, rubbing his chin, âward wants to get to know everyone before âthe big showâ, make sure everything moves smoothly.â
âiâve already met ward,â you gritted, reminiscing about all the times you attended the elizabeth city hockey parties he hosted at the end of the year to celebrate the season. you weren't so fond of him despite him being one of your biggest supporters.
âwhere are you right now.â
"i'm home.. why?"
it was silent and you could practically hear the gears in his head turn as he thought along with the silence, his lips pressed into a thin line as he paced his room within the cameron house, "you have a dress yet?"
°âą
jj had one hand gripping the steering wheel of his truck while the other held the gear shift, tapping his finger lightly so some sound filled the air. but it somehow made the atmosphere more awkward with no words to say and no things to do as you tapped your own fingers against the door, eyes glancing out the window every once and awhile, observing the gloomy air that was slowly falling over obx- - something you always loved when winter took over; when the cold nipped at your cheeks and turned them red, always giving you an excuse to wrap up in blankets and drink excessive amounts of hot drinks.
you tipped your head slightly, your eyes now roaming for something to create thought, and something did once you came to realization after studying the nice interior of the truck; clean, no sign of dirt anywhere. it smelt nice, even as jj's hockey bag was thrown in the backseat, which was unusual because the smell of sweat was always so distinct, even on your own bag, and you would consider yourself a cleanliness person.
jj was from the cut. you knew him and you knew who his friends were. you felt like an asshole thinking it but you have known him since third grade, when he had came in late on the first day with dirt staining his shirt and face. he was no stranger to fun and you were sometimes envious of it, having the ability to let go and not think.
so why was his truck so clean? you knew but you still asked;
"why do you live with ward?"
he seemed to tense a little, his grip on the wheel tightening while readjusting himself. his other hand no longer held the gear shift but was rather now running a hand through his hair, an audible exhale fizzling past his lips.
maybe you shouldn't have asked...
as well as knowing jj had the nature of letting loose and having no care, you were also aware of his rough home life with his father, something rafe had told you, something you wished you hadn't known.
"never mind, uh sorry-"
"no, no," he shook his head, shooing away your apology, "it's fine. not that big of a deal anyways."
silence and then...
"i've never really had.. anything," he rubbed his lips together, hesitant with whether or not he should be telling this to you, which he knew deep down that he probably shouldn't, but he wanted to, he wanted someone to know. "never anything to anyone until ward. he saw something in me that nobody saw and it was like finally someone cared. that's why i live with him.. i don't have to think about anything, worry about anything anymore because he runs my whole life and there's something comforting about that."
you watched him as he talked, trying his best to explain it while clenching and unclenching his fist around the black leather wheel, keeping a strong focus on the road due to not wanting to look at you.
"but i had to shape up and there's nothing wrong with a little discipline," he tilted his head a little, saying these words as if reminding himself of this. it made your chest tighten as you watched him a little closely with sympathetic eyes, but you weren't sure why.
the dinner rehearsal started at 6:30, giving you and jj an hour to find a black dress for the scout party. the two of you had been at it for already an hour and neither of you could find what you were looking for. but mostly because half the time the two of you were screwing around, trying on things that weren't even black nor a dress. sharing stupid hockey gossip, and even giving each other pointers.
you would have never thought you would ever been hanging out with jj on your free time or even finding joy in his company. it was unusual to say the least, almost wrong, but you couldn't find the nerve to care as you sat across from him in the waiting area of the dressing room.
"you going to try on those dresses or not?" he motioned toward the pile of black dresses the two of you had randomly compiled together before entering into the private area.
"i don't know."
"we got like half an hour before i have to drop you off and get you ready," he checked his phone before looking back up to you, giving you a pointed look. "i should've asked if you can get ready fast."
"i can."
"try on a dress."
you huffed before pulling yourself up to your feet, grabbing onto the pile before walking into the little room meant for changing. the first dress was a no-go right off the bat, the second one didn't even cover half your chest, and the thrid-
"you gonna let me see or not?" jj had himself propped up against the dressing room doorframe by his elbow, waiting for you to finally show him one of the many dresses the two of you had picked out.
"hold on," you slightly mumbled, extending your arm behind you, attempting to reach the zipper.
"i thought you said you got ready fast."
you opened the dressing room door with a annoyed frown, something that quickly lost its effect once you became taken aback when looking up to jj who had a smirk on his face, practically crammed up against you with how close he was leaned up against the doorframe. you huffed, losing the shock while holding the front of the dress tightly against your chest in fear of it slipping.
"i need you to zip me up."
"what?" jj looked caught off guard, now looking you up and down, almost not understanding your question till you turned around, revealing the low zipper the stopped right before your butt. he still looked shocked as his eyes met yours in the body length mirror placed in the center wall of the dressing room before traveling down toward the zipper. "this the dress i picked out?" he coughed, hesitantly clasping the small piece of plastic.
you hummed in reply, diverting your eyes to the ground as the feeling of his knuckles slowly dragging up the middle of you back made your stomach twist into knots. you held your breath as you connected the coldness to the silver ring he wore on his pointer finger.
you could hear him exhale as well the moment the zipper was pulled all the way to the top and he made sure to take a wide step away from you before fully looking you in the eyes. you turned to face him, giving him a lopsided smile before he finally spoke, "looks good."
that was the dress you chose.
°âą
"you're late," ward was on jj the moment he had walked through the front door with his hand tightly gripping the boy's bicep, attempting to guide him away and fast toward his room upstairs where you were sure a more formal outfit was laid out for him.
you clenched your jaw as your presences seemed to have been completely shrugged off as you were left at the front door alone.
after you had bought the black dress, jj drove you home to allow you to change. you wore a short purple dress that had practically knocked the breath out of jj due to him never seeing you in anything but your hockey gear and clothes that tended to cover you whole. you had to bite back a smirk.
the whole backyard must have been where everything was being hosted due to that being where everyone was mingling. it made you feel sort of out of place which was rather unusual since you had a the tendency to fit right in when it came to events like these. you had to.
"really went through with it, huh?"
you glanced back to see rafe holding a glass of alcohol. he was dressed up in a button up just like the rest of the boys were with slack pants. you grinned over to him with a slight tip of your head, "you look like a douche."
he scoffed, giving you a look up and down, "okay, princess." he threw back the rest of his drink before setting it down on a table. he shoved his hands in his pockets before strolling to your side, "i thought you were going to keep your dignity and not take his deal."
you shrugged, "i really want to win best player."
"so you're going to fuck him for it?"
you rolled your eyes before planting an elbow to his ribs, "don't be an ass. i've wanted this since elementary school and i think i can get it if jj steps down."
rafe only hummed.
you hadn't seen jj in over a half an hour, and after talking to rafe for what seem like ten minutes, but was really longer, he reminded you of your date. you had lowly swore to yourself before looking around and not finding him until you had walk to the long stretched dock where you found him lighting a blunt.
"a bit of a bad time for that, don't you think?"
he looked back at you with a raised brow as if daring you to stop him, but you only joined his side, planning on keeping your mouth shut until he spoke to you himself.. which seemed unlikely with the only sound filling the air being the waves crashing against the dock and him inhaling and exhaling smoke.
"you mad or something?"
he didnât say anything but instead kept his eyes trained on the setting sun. the sky swarmed with orange, it made your chest fill with warmth despite beginning to feel uneasy about jjâs now silent demeanor. it didnât feel right.
you took a step closer to him, trying to get a better look at his face in attempt to get a read on him, but you only felt your stomach drop as your hands couldnât help but reach for both sides of his face, pulling him to face you.
âjj,â you half gaped, your eyes wide and wild as you had your gaze set upon the newly placed bruise on his cheekbone. âwho?â
âwho do you think?â he took one last intake before flicking the blunt into the water. his face was warm and seemed to have seeped into your finger tips as they practically cradled his face. ây/n.â
your head tilted from side to side as you tried to gather and look for other bruises or cuts or anything that connected to harm- you couldnât even think or focus until his own hands grasped your wrists, now making sure you were looking him in the eyes, which were wide themself.
âit doesnât matter,â he wanted you to understand that, but he knew you wouldnât with how disappointed you seemed to be at his words, your face falling and slowly loosing your grip. âdoesnât matter, okay?
âyou must be stupid if you think iâm going to believe that,â you let go of him, slowly backing away with a deep frown etched into your face. âjj-â
âhockey puck-â
your face fell deeper into despair, âdonât you fucking dare.â your face turned into a scowl and you raised your hand, âthat stupid- jj you-â
âeverything going alright down here?â
your eyes interchanged toward ward who appeared out of nowhere, with a cautious demeanor. you eyes his closely as he approached the two of you closer with his steps slow and eyes full of hesitation as he scoped out the situation, very aware that something was off.
âyeah, everythingâs fine,â jjâs voice was quiet as he stared at you, almost signaling for you to keep your mouth shut with the way his eyes slightly widened. âi have to take y/n home.â
ward nodded, understandably with his hands stuffed into his dress pants pockets, âokay.â
you begun to walk before jj did with your hands tightly gripped in fists, mind racing but not knowing what to think. only anger.

dancing in the kitchen
summary: slow dancing with drew after a meal.
warnings: none, just a short one.
the kitchen was dimly lit by the ovenlight and the living room lamp, which was casting a small ray onto the floor. i was washing the remnants of tonight's dinner off of our plates, swaying to the quiet music in the background. tonight was particularly peaceful.Â
a warmth spread over me from behind, and i felt a pair of arms wrap around my torso. smiling, i leaned my head back to rest against his chest. drew now swaying with me. the euphoric feeling was delaying the task at hand.Â
âdrew. i canât finish the dishes with you distracting me like this,â i said calmly as i placed a freshly cleaned dish into the drainer. his body erupted into a laugh before moving his hands to my hips and turning me around. with me facing him, he replies, ây/n. the chores can wait.â
i roll my eyes playfully before drying my hands and giving in, as i always do. smirking, he forces me to continue swaying. moving my arms to his shoulders, i begin to run my fingers through his hair.Â
moments like these are my absolute favorite. the faint music in the background, usually an old jazz rhythm, drew looking at me with his soft gaze. i couldn't ask for more. we stay like this for what feels like hours before we are pulled out of our trance.Â
"why don't we head to bed?" drew asks, his sleepy eyes making my heart rate rise. "i want nothing more," i say faintly in reply. he breaks out his goofy grin before suddenly wrapping his arms around my waist and lifting me. i take this as a hint to then wrap my legs around him, giving him a slight peck as i do so.
he walks us to the bedroom like this. after laying me carefully on the bed, he collapses on top of me. with his head tucked in my neck, i reach up to turn the lamp off, and we both fight to pull the blanket over us.Â
one hand is lost in his hair, and the other runs back and forth over his strong back. a content sigh leaves his lips. we fall asleep holding each other as if we'll never get the chance to do so again.
nothing special, i just thought it was cute <3
anxious
summary: drew comforting you after feeling anxious at a party.
warnings: mentions of anxiety
as the minutes pass, that twisting feeling in my stomach grows stronger. the music is sounding louder, and the air feels thinner. bodies brushing past, only making these feelings more apparent. parties have never been easy for me, but i can usually suppress my anxiety long enough to socialize.Â
tonight has been particularly difficult. drew invited me to a party thrown by his hometown friends. nothing extreme; it was simply a house party with some drinks and music. the beginning was great; everyone was very welcoming. after the introductions were over and it came time to find a group, my mind began to race. overthinking has always been a flaw of mine, and it became very obvious in this moment.
for a while, i was able to stand off to the side and observe. i watched drew go up to everyone. i watched as they all lit up while he spoke. so interested in his stories and what he had to say. he reciprocated these emotions, giving everyone his full focus.Â
i have always admired this about drew. his ability to make everyone feel comfortable and close to him. an ability i have always wanted. however, this eventually became old, and i worried someone would catch me staring.
finding myself on a random couch, i spoke briefly to the girl sitting next to me. she was nice and included me in the conversation, but i still felt like i didn't quite belong. after this, i needed a second to breathe. stepping outside into the cool air, my feelings subsided for a second.
not even five minutes passed before the door behind me flew open, i jumped slightly before turning around. "what's wrong, y/n?" drew asked, sitting down next to me. wrapping his arm around my shoulders.
"drew i'm okay, i just got a little overwhelmed. go talk to your friends," i assure, smiling up at him. he squeezes me a little tighter and says, "no we can go home, i've talked to everyone i wanted to." he begins to stand.Â
i shake my head, "you spend a lot more time with me than you do with them. i promise i'm okay." his hand glides from my shoulder to my own hand, squeezing it. "i wouldn't want it any other way. if you're uncomfortable, we're going home."
giving him a weak smile, i say, "are you sure? i feel bad." in an attempt to make me laugh, he looks at me as if to say you already know the answer. "i've never been more sure about anything." he disappears into the house to say his goodbyes.Â
almost immediately, he is back by my side. he interlocks his fingers with mine as we walk back to his car. drew holds the door open for me as i climb into the passenger seat. before closing it behind me, he leans forward, giving me a quick kiss.
he gets into the driver's seat wordlessly. placing a hand on my thigh after he pulls the car out of the packed driveway. âthank you, iâm so lucky to have you,â i say barely louder than a whisper, still feeling a bit guilty.Â
running his thumb back and forth over my thigh, he replies, ây/n, i love you. i want you to be happy and comfortable. donât ever feel bad for feeling anxious.âÂ
âi love you so much,â i say, laying my head on his shoulder. closing my eyes to take in the moment. i feel so safe.
for my anxious readers <3
pairing: drew starkey x fem. reader!
summary: cast member reader and drew take on poguelandia
warnings: none
disclaimer: english is not my first language so I apologize for any grammar mistakes<3
the release of season 3 was just around the corner, and as a way to interact with the fans and give the new season some promotion, the obx team had decided to launch an event where fans would be able to live a pogue experience with the cast, which created a lot of anticipation in the fan community and had everyone in the world wishing they could attend, cause everyone was gonna be there to have a good time.
y/n was a little nervous, this event was a big deal, and as she arrived at the place in the back of the van with madelyn, her palms started sweating and her heart started racing. she had just joined the obx cast last season, along with carlacia, and this was going to be one of the first big interactions she was gonna have with the cast out in public as well as with the fans. she knew fans liked her character and cheered on her as an actress, but what if that was not the case when they saw her in real life? her impostor syndrome truly winning that day.
âeverything ok y/n?â Madelyn asked noticing how the girl kept looking out the window as she played with her hands, a way to cope with her anxiety.
âiâm just feeling a bit nervous, thatâs all. nothing to worry aboutâ she answered seeing how the van came to a stop in a secluded area of the event.
her friend understood, to this day, she still got nervous at events, she believed it was impossible to get used to living this life and getting that much attention.
âjust breathe, weâll all be together and youâll have a great time, trust meâ Madelyn told the girl while she gave her a comforting smile. Both girls had instantly clicked since y/n joined the series, and had been glued to each other since then, they found a best friend in each other, and their love and care could be seen in and off screen.
âis drew already here?â y/n asked getting off the van and walking to where some of the crew were giving details on what they needed everyone to be doing.
just as she finished her question the tall man appeared around the corner making her smile, he was with Austin while a couple of crew members surrounded them, looking like they had just come from looking around the event, probably interacting with some fans. As drew noticed the van, he quickly began walking towards them, locking eyes with the anxious girl who relaxed immediately after seeing him approach.
âthereâs my girlâ he said into smile as he closed the distance between them hugging y/n to his chest, feeling her relax under his touch. âwhat took you guys so long?â
drew and y/n had met while filming season two of the show, and they had immediately become really good friends, best friends someone could say. they spent a lot of time in each otherâs trailers, and their chemistry and the way they looked at each other was something all their friends could notice, but for some reason, it was something that both of them didnât seem to grasp until long after they met, cause it was just before beginning to film season 3, that they couldnât keep denying their feelings to each other, finally deciding to be together.
the only thing is, they decided to keep it private. and itâs not that they werenât sure they loved each other, but they were scared of the reaction of the fans, so to that day, they have been trying to keep it low key, and itâs not like much changed, I mean, ever since they met they have had this bond that had fans questioning if they were more than friends, so all they had to do was keep the pda to themselves, even though they kind of fail in the attempt.
âtraffic was insane, but it definitely allowed us to make our grand entranceâ said Madelyn while she looked around seeing how they were the last to arrive.
drew could feel y/nâs quick heartbeat in his chest, so looking down to her he asked âis everything ok love?â while putting her hair behind her ear in a loving way.
y/n nodded slowly looking into his eyes and giving him a small smile âjust a little nervous, donât know what to expect honestlyâ she admitted.
Drew held her face while giving her a small peck on the lips âitâs ok to be nervous, if Iâm being honest with you, on the way here my hands were dripping sweatâ he said while stroking her cheek âand Iâll be next to you for as long as you need me toâ
Y/n inhaled a deep breath while nodding to her boyfriend, she knew he was being serious, after all, since they started being friends and now as a couple, all drew had ever done was made her feel comfortable and secure, always giving her words of encouragement and being there for her when she needed a shoulder to cry on or someone to have a laugh with.
Drew took her hand in between his and started to walk towards where the rest of the cast was hanging out, as well as where some crew members were giving directions as to what kind of content they needed to film . âLetâs take on poguelandiaâ y/n said with a smile.
âŠ
After a few hours filming some content for obxâs social media, and interacting with some fans, some of the guys, along with drew and y/n decided you wanted to tag along and enjoy the music.
after your nerves and anxious thoughts had washed away after and eventful day, you let yourself enjoy the event and have fun with your friends, so after you got your drinks and arrived on the platform with the rest of the cast, you decided you were gonna enjoy the rest of the day with the people that you loved.
âfeeling better already huh?â drew whispered into your ear as he stood behind you with his arm around your shoulders while he held his drink in the other hand.
you nodded while you let yourself rest your head on his chest behind you.
you two werenât nervous about being this touchy in public, you had always been that way, which was why you always had the fans wondering if you two were friends or more than that. you had always been very comfortable around each other, and being physical with each other had felt natural from the begging, so nothing had changed about that, all you had to be careful with was no kissing in public, which was definitely hard cause it was all you two wanted to do while being around each other in the warmth of the desert.
âbeing around you always makes me feel betterâ you told him while you left a quick kiss to his arm that was still around you keeping you close to him.
drew tried to hide giddy his smile while he sipped his drink âglad to know the effect is mutual loveâ he answered as he rested his chin on top of your head as you both swayed together to the beat of the music playing in front of you guys.
what had started as a nerve wracking experience for you had definitely turned into one of the best days with your friends and boyfriend.

DONâT STOP THE MUSIC
pairing: drew starkey x fem. reader!
summary: cast member reader goes out with the obx cast to a bar
warnings: mentions of alcohol, drinking, being tipsy
disclaimer: inspired by donât stop the music by rihanna, the song always makes me daydream!
it was friday night, and after wrapping up filming for the day in Charleston, mostly everyone in the cast had decided that going out for drinks in town sounded like a solid plan, so after everyone gathered their things they split into cars to drive downtown into a bar JD had heard good things about.
you were in Austinâs car, and while he was driving, drew was sitting in the seat next to him, and left to chat and be the life of the drive where madelyn, madison and yourself in the back of the car.
you guys couldnât stop laughing, making jokes and singing to the songs on the radio like you were all doing karaoke, and the boys in front of you just keep laughing and singing with you three.
every now and then drew would look back and lock eyes with you, sending you a playful wink or replying to a joke you made. this was something normal in your friendship, so it wasnât something weird for your friends, even though they saw that the way you two acted was as if you two were more than friends.
but that was not the case, you two had instantly kicked it off, even though you had different personalities, that didnât seem like a problem for you to become close and have a fun time whenever you were together.
at first, you were intimidated by drew. getting to be the new cast member in a show were everyone else already knew each other was hard, and then, when you realized that the person you needed to have more chemistry for the sake of your character was tall, handsome and with a sarcastic personality, it was safe to say you were scared.
but you quickly realized that everyone was really nice and welcoming, as well as getting to know drew and finding out that he was the sweetest man you had probably encountered. he always made sure you felt comfortable with him in every scene, cause even though his character was pretty violent, he always wanted to make sure you knew that it was all an act, and I mean, you two were great actors, and made a great match in the show.
so your friendship in real life was not something that came as a surprise to anybody, you had most of your scenes with him the first few days, so rehearsing and going through lines together was an everyday thing. and thats how you became an iconic duo, as the fans would call you two.
arriving at the bar, everyone gathered around at a table and ordered drinks, starting to chat and laugh at the jokes and funny stories from set everyone was sharing.
ây/n, we should do tequila shots!â madelyn suddenly gasped grabbing your arm, as she was seated next to you.
âthatâs the best thing Iâve heard all night!â you answered looking at her âwhoâs down for some tequila shots?â you shouted so everyone could hear, and immediately approving noises were heard.
âweâre starting out strong huh?â drew asked, as he was seated next to you, sipping on his bear.
âweâre not wasting any time which is differentâ you smiled to him as you saw the waiter approach with many shot glasses and a bottle of tequila.
âthen I guess we should get to itâ
Drew got up and started pouring the alcohol on every glass, handing one to everyone as we all cheered.
âto great friendships and an awesome filming season!â chase shouted as we all cheered and clashed our shots together.
before i could take my shot, drew took my arm and tangled it with his so we could drink our shots together.
âwe need to do it this wayâ he said as he finished crossing both our arms while we stood face to face holding our shot glasses.
âsays who?â I asked laughing enjoying the dynamic way too much, as well as liking to have him that close to me.
âeveryone knows it, this is the right way to do shots!â he shouted as he raised his hand a little ready to drink.
âletâs do it thenâ
I smiled before we both downed our shots at the same time.
after a few more rounds of shots, french fries and sloppy drinking from the bottle, people around started dancing and letting loose, which made us want to join the fun.
plus, the alcohol in our system definitely made us more confident than usual.
madelyn and chase were the first ones on the dance floor, while the rest of us stayed drinking and eating at the table, watching them like they were part of a rom com.
after a few songs had passed, drew stood up next to me and offered me his hand.
âletâs danceâ he said as he gave me a smile.
he knew I couldnât say no. not when he looked at me like that.
I quickly took his hand as he guided us to the dance floor, where everyone was singing and jumping up and down, moving to the rhythm of the songs.
i was glad the lights were dim, because the blush on my cheeks was something that I couldnât hide, not when the alcohol made me react to him like it always happened.
Do you know what you started? I just came here to party, but now we're rockin' on the dance floor, actin' naughty
around us, everyone was dancing, and staying apart was difficult, so we found ourselves dancing very close to each other. not that we wouldâve liked it any other way.
âI didnât know you liked dancingâ i shouted a little, getting close to him so he could hear me over the music, which was a lot louder in the dance floor.
he smiled while letting out a laugh.
âIâm not the biggest fan, but I know you do love doing itâ he answered leaning down as he took my hand and gave me a little spin making me giggle.
lord did he make me feel some type if way.
âso if I told you I love going to the beach and swimming in the ocean at midnight, would you come with me?â I asked getting closer to him, looking into his eyes.
he smirked while he let out a small laugh, leaning down on my ear.
âI would go anywhere with you, even if you didnât ask me toâ
Your hands around my waist just let the music play, weâre hand in hand, chest to chest, and now we're face to face
his hands held me by the waist, while we swayed slowly side to side, trying not to stay still in between the sea of bodies jumping up and down to the music around us.
my hands went from resting on his chest, to around his neck, letting them hang on his back, making us closer than ever.
i could feel his gaze on my lips, as I couldnât tear my eyes from his, being fully captivated by the blue color, that seemed darker under the lights in the bar.
âI really wanna kiss you right nowâ drew said as one of his hands went from my waist to my cheek, brushing some of the hair out of my face.
I wasnât sure if it was the alcohol, or the adrenaline of him telling me that, but i was scared that he could hear or feel how fast my heart was beating, almost wanting to get out and answer for myself.
âand whatâs stopping you?â it almost felt like a whisper, but his smile gave away that he had listened to me.
so he closed the distance between us.
his lips were soft and hungry at the same time, like he had been waiting to do that for a long time. and i wouldnât be surprised, because this was something i had found myself daydreaming of a few times.
one of his hands still held me by the waist, as the other one was between my cheek and my neck, keeping our faces together, and i didnât want us to pull apart.
how long can someone survive without breathing? Iâd be willing to find out.
Don't you feel the passion ready to explode? what goes on between us no one has to know, this is a private show
after breaking the kiss, i rested my head in his chest, attempting to hide my smile while trying to catch my breath.
âoh donât go shy on me now dollâ he said as he slowly lifted my face with one of his hands, softly stroking my cheek.
his eyes softened as his smile took over most of his face, and he laughed a little when he saw my flustered state.
âwill it make you feel better if I told you that i had been wanting to do that for a long time?â he said as he looked me in the eyes.
drew just couldnât let me compose myself.
ânow youâre just bluffingâ i said as i hit him in the chest in a playful way.
he laughed with me in between his arms, as i placed my hands in his chest, looking up to him with a smile on my face.
âdid you really never noticed how down bad i was for you?â he asked as his arms kept holding me close to him.
I smiled as I confidently stood on the tips of my toes and kissed him again, this one being a bit shorter that the other one.
he smiled looking to the side trying to hide his now rising blush.
âI guess i thought something a couple of times, but i didnât wanted to disappoint myself, it couldâve all been in my headâ I said honestly.
drew turned to look at me, and we stayed like that for a bit, staring at each other, being close, and soaking in what had just happened between us.
âwell, for the record, this is realâ he said motioning to us âand it was never in your headâ
drew leaned down and pecked my lips.
âletâs get out of hereâ he took my hand in between his as we started walking towards the exit.
âwhat about the rest?â I asked trying to find them in the now crowded bar, while we headed to the door.
âtheyâll figure it outâ he laughed as we were now on the parking lot.
âand where are we going?â my eyes locked with his, that shined under the moonlight.
drew smiled while he held me between his arms.
âIâm taking you for a swim at midnight, just like you wantedâ.

âWhy you actinâ shy for now?â Drew asked, smirk on his face as his large hands yanked your thighs apart that you were squeezing together. Your pussy was leaking, dripping onto white sheets as your eyes raked over the stunning man in front of you. The expensive suit jacket he had been wearing was placed carefully in the chair, the clean white button down opened to reveal his toned stomach. You watched with a bite to your lower lip as he kneeled down, his blue eyes shining as he looked up at you. âKeep your legs open, understand me?â He said, voice low.
You nodded, your mouth falling open in a soft moan as his tongue began licking through your sweet folds. He immediately groaned, the taste of your leaking hole exactly what he needed after such an incredible day. His pert nose rubbed against your clit, his mouth hungrily diving in for more as he yanked your hips down further. âPussy is so goddamn wet for me.â He groaned, your juices already leaking down his chin.
You reached a hand down to tug at his grown out hair, gripping it tightly as he sucked on your aching clit. âD-drew..â You whined, loving the feeling you got to be the one calling out his name. He hummed against your core, his tongue sliding in your creamy hole as he rubbed the tip of his nose against your pearl. âLet daddy drink that sweet shit up.â He mumbled, a desperate drawl from the manâs voice whom was in love with you and you only. The one whose handsome face got to be between your thighs in the hotel room of Venice Italy after the amazing film festival he got to experience with you.

A soft and gentle Hawaiian breeze filtered through the open windows of the Airbnb, carrying with it the salty scent of the ocean and the distant sound of waves crashing onto the shore. The golden sunlight filtered into the bathroom where you stood, brushing the last bit of blush on your cheeks as you prepared for the day. It was only the second morning of your vacation in Hawaii, but already you could feel a deep sense of peace and contentment.
Through the thin walls, you could hear the soft murmur of conversation from the living room, where Drew was keeping your son, Rustyn, entertained. At only two years old, Rustyn had a way of commanding attention wherever he went. His bright, inquisitive mind and sweet nature often left you in awe, as he continuously found ways to make everyone around him feel special. Whether it was a loving compliment or a random fun fact he had picked up from one of his many TV shows, Rustyn always knew how to leave an impression.
Just as you were finishing up your makeup, you heard a light knock on the bathroom door, and soon a small voice called out.
âMommy, can I come in?â
The door creaked open, revealing Rustyn standing in the doorway, his big blue eyes peeking up at you with admiration. He walked inside, his little feet padding across the tiled floor, his excitement for the day evident in the way he carried himself.
âMommy, you look beautiful today,â Rustyn said, his tiny voice full of awe, as if he couldnât believe how lucky he was to have such a pretty mom.
You felt your heart swell with love, as it always did when Rustyn offered these sweet compliments. Leaning down, you scooped him up into your arms and pressed a kiss to his forehead.
âThank you, sweetheart,â you said, smiling into his soft curls. âYouâre so sweet.â
Just then, Drew appeared at the doorway with a grin on his face. He leaned against the doorframe casually, his eyes soft as he looked at the two of you. âRustynâs right, you know. Mommy always looks pretty.â
You smiled at Drew, warmth flooding your chest at the sight of him standing there, his playful charm radiating through his teasing words. Even after all this time, Drew still had a way of making you feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.
âOh, stop it, you two,â you said with a laugh, setting Rustyn down as you finished gathering your things.
âYouâre so special to me, Mommy,â Rustyn added sweetly, wrapping his arms around your neck with a big hug as if to emphasize just how much he loved you.
From the living room, you could hear Todd and Jodiâs soft âawwâ as they watched Rustynâs display of affection. His grandparents were always so proud of how kind-hearted and loving he was. Every little word Rustyn said seemed to have the power to melt hearts. You smiled to yourself, grateful for the love that surrounded your family.
âOkay, okay,â you said with a grin, ruffling Rustynâs hair. âLetâs go get some breakfast. Are you ready for a fun day, baby?â
Rustyn nodded enthusiastically, his little face lighting up. âYeah, Mommy! I wanna go see fishy!â
Drew chuckled as he grabbed the car keys. âAlright, letâs get going, then.â
As you walked out of the Airbnb, the sun kissed your skin, and the smell of the ocean surrounded you. You couldnât help but feel incredibly lucky to be spending this time with your little family and Drewâs parents, siblings. The connection between all of you felt so strong, and you knew Rustyn was growing up surrounded by so much love from everyone around him.
Once everyone had gathered their things, Drew packed up the rental car, making sure Rustyn was safely strapped into his car seat before helping you into the front passenger seat. Todd and Jodi settled into the back, chatting softly about the day ahead. The air was filled with the warmth of a family vacationâeasy-going, full of laughter, and stress-free.
Drew started the car, glancing over at you with a soft smile before shifting his attention to the road. âSo, what are we thinking for breakfast? Pancakes for Rustyn, or something more adventurous?â
You laughed. âRustyn could eat pancakes every day if we let him.â
From the back seat, Todd chuckled, âThe kid has good taste.â
As the car rolled down the scenic coastal road, the windows open to let the cool breeze in, Rustyn began his usual habit of filling the car with his boundless curiosity.
âMommy, did you know that dolphins are really smart?â he asked from his car seat, his little legs kicking back and forth as he peered out the window.
You turned slightly in your seat, smiling at him. âOh yeah? How smart are they?â
Rustynâs face scrunched up in thought as if he was recalling one of the many nature shows he loved to watch. âThey can talk to each other with squeaks!â
âThatâs right, baby,â you said, nodding in encouragement. âDolphins are very smart.â
Drew glanced in the rearview mirror, clearly amused. âWhat else do you know about dolphins, Rusty?â
Rustyn continued excitedly. âAnd turtles! Turtles can live for a really, really long timeâlike, a hundred years!â
Todd, sitting in the back, grinned and leaned forward slightly. âIs that so, Rusty? Youâre a walking encyclopedia, arenât you?â
Rustyn beamed at the praise, clearly proud of himself. âI know lots of things!â
Jodi chimed in with a warm smile. âYou sure do, sweet boy. Maybe youâll be a marine biologist one day.â
Rustyn seemed to like the sound of that. âWhatâs that?â
âItâs someone who studies ocean animals, like dolphins and turtles,â you explained, watching as his eyes lit up with interest.
âYeah! I wanna be a marine⊠biologist!â Rustyn said, his face scrunching up as he tried to say the word correctly.
The entire car burst into laughter, everyone already so charmed by Rustynâs enthusiasm for life. Drew reached and squeezed your hand, a gesture of shared pride in your little boy.
âHeâs going to do great things,â Drew said softly, his voice filled with love as he looked back at Rustyn, who was now babbling happily about his future ocean adventures.
When you arrived at the breakfast spotâa quaint beachside cafe with a view of the oceanâyou saw that Drewâs siblings, Logan, Brooke, and McKayla, were already there, waiting for you all at a large outdoor table. The sea breeze was refreshing, and the early morning sunlight cast a warm, golden glow over everything.
Brooke was the first to spot you, waving you all over with a grin. âFinally! We thought you guys were never going to show up.â
âSorry, Rustyn had to give us a marine biology lesson on the way here,â Drew said with a chuckle as he approached the table.
Logan laughed, reaching down to high-five Rustyn, who was already eager to share more of his newfound knowledge. âRusty, my man! What did you teach them this time?â
âTurtles can live for a hundred years!â Rustyn declared proudly, his chest puffing out with pride.
McKayla smiled fondly at her nephew, reaching over to ruffle his hair. âWell, look at you, little genius.â
The conversation flowed easily as everyone sat down, catching up with each other and enjoying the relaxed vibe of the island. Drewâs family was always warm and welcoming, and it felt so natural to be surrounded by them. Rustyn, ever the center of attention, charmed everyone with his sweet compliments and random facts, making sure to tell each person at the table how much he loved them.
At one point, as you waited for the food to arrive, a couple sitting nearby noticed Drew. They exchanged nervous glances before hesitantly approaching the table.
âHi, sorry to interrupt,â the woman said, clearly excited but trying to be respectful. âWeâre big fans of your work, Drew. Could we get a picture?â
Drew smiled kindly, ever gracious with his fans. âOf course. No problem.â
As he stood up to take the picture with the couple, Rustyn watched intently from his seat, his little face full of curiosity. As soon as Drew finished and the couple thanked him, Rustyn piped up loudly, his voice full of pride.
âIâm a big fan of my Dada too!â
Everyone, including the couple, burst out laughing at Rustynâs unexpected but adorable declaration. Drewâs face flushed slightly as he reached down to ruffle Rustynâs hair, clearly touched by his sonâs words.
âYouâre too much, bud,â Drew said with a smile, leaning down to kiss the top of Rustynâs head.
The rest of breakfast was filled with more laughter, light teasing, and stories of the adventures everyone had planned for the day. Rustyn, always the star of the show, kept everyone entertained with his endless questions and sweet declarations of love for his family.
After breakfast, you all decided to spend the rest of the day at the beach. The sun was shining brightly, and the water looked impossibly inviting. Rustyn could hardly contain his excitement as you, Drew, and his siblings set up camp with a large umbrella and a pile of beach towels.
Rustyn tugged at your hand, his little face filled with anticipation. âMommy, can we go swimming now?â
You smiled, squeezing his hand. âOf course, sweetie. Letâs go!â
Drew grinned as he helped Rustyn into his floaties before scooping him up and carrying him toward the water. âLetâs see what youâve got, buddy.â
As soon as the cool ocean water lapped at your feet, Rustyn let out an excited squeal, splashing around with glee. Drew, ever the playful dad, lifted him high into the air before gently dunking him into the water, making Rustyn giggle uncontrollably.
After a while of swimming, you decided to take a break and build a sandcastle with Rustyn. The two of you sat side by side in the soft sand, gathering buckets of wet sand while Drew stayed in the water with Logan and McKayla. You helped Rustyn carefully pack the sand into a tower, guiding his small hands to shape the castle.
âMommy, look! I found a shell!â Rustyn exclaimed, holding up a small white seashell he had discovered buried in the sand.
âThatâs perfect, Rusty! We can put it right here,â you said, showing him where to place it on the sandcastle.
Drew, having spotted the two of you from the water, made his way back to the shore and dropped down beside you. âHowâs the sandcastle coming along?â
Rustyn looked up at him with a big grin. âGood, Dada! We found a shell for it.â
Drew nodded appreciatively, leaning in to examine the shell. âWow, you and Mommy are making quite the masterpiece.â
You chuckled, brushing some sand off your hands as you admired the nearly finished sandcastle. âHeâs a natural builder.â
After a few more minutes of playing in the sand, you leaned in close to Rustyn and whispered, âHey, baby, can Mommy have a kiss?â
Rustyn nodded, but instead of leaning in for a kiss himself, he had a different idea. With a mischievous grin, he grabbed both your face and Drewâs, pulling you two together with surprising force. He giggled, clearly wanting his parents to kiss each other.
Drew let out a soft laugh, his blue eyes twinkling with affection as he looked at you. âLooks like someoneâs playing matchmaker,â he said with a teasing grin.
You smiled back, your heart swelling with love as you leaned in to kiss Drew. It was a soft, tender kiss, made even sweeter by the fact that Rustyn had initiated it. When you pulled away, Drew still had that fond, loving look in his eyes.
âYouâve got good ideas, Rusty,â Drew said, ruffling his sonâs hair.
Rustyn giggled happily. âYouâre supposed to kiss! It makes you happy!â
Drew chuckled, pulling you both in for a group hug. âYeah, bud, it really does.â
As the day wound down, the entire family gathered under the umbrella, lounging on towels and sipping on cold drinks. Brooke and McKayla had picked up fresh coconuts from a nearby vendor, passing them around as everyone settled in to enjoy the sunset.
Logan and Todd were still determined to outdo each other in their impromptu sandcastle competition, while Jodi sat back, laughing at their antics.
Rustyn, now thoroughly exhausted from the dayâs activities, snuggled into your lap, his little eyes drooping as he fought off sleep. You brushed a hand through his soft hair, smiling down at him as he yawned.
Drew, sitting beside you, wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you close as the two of you watched the sun slowly sink below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange.
âThis was a perfect day,â you whispered, leaning your head on Drewâs shoulder.
Drew smiled, pressing a soft kiss to the top of your head. âYeah, it really was.â
Rustyn, half-asleep now heâs laying on your chest, murmured softly. âLove you, Mommy. Love you, Dada.â
Your heart melted at his words, and you looked down at him with a smile, your love for him overflowing. âWe love you too, baby,â you whispered back, pressing a kiss to his forehead.
As the last rays of sunlight disappeared over the horizon, you felt a deep sense of contentment wash over you. The love you felt for Drew, for Rustyn, and for the family surrounding you, was all you needed. This was your perfect momentâa moment filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of your little family.

The summers were always the best part of your childhood. You and Drew Starkey had been practically inseparable since you were six years old, running through the wide backyard of the Starkey home, laughing until your stomach hurt and your lungs ached from the chase. Your families were closeâso close that your mothers, Jodi and your mom, would joke that you and Drew were "destined for each other."
"Y/N and Joseph," Jodi would say with a smile as she watched the two of you playing in the grass. "Theyâre going to get married someday. Iâve always known."
Your mother would laugh, glancing over at you, sweaty and carefree as you chased Drew through the sprinklers. "Iâd be happy with that, Jodi," sheâd reply, "It would be perfect."
You didnât think much of it then. To you, Drew was just Drewâyour best friend, the boy who pulled you out of the creek when you fell in one summer and got scraped knees trying to rescue you. You couldnât imagine life without him, but back then, you were still young. The idea of growing up and getting married seemed like something distant, almost laughable.
One summer, when you were about six, you had a moment that defined your bond. The sun was setting, casting a warm, golden light over the Starkey backyard. You and Drew were sprawled on the grass after an afternoon of playing tag, breathing hard but smiling at each other.
âJoseph,â you began, turning your head toward him as you lay beside him, âcan I call you something else? Like a nickname?â
Drew raised an eyebrow and rolled onto his side, propping his head up on his hand. âLike what?â
âI donât know... Drew? It sounds cooler.â
He blinked, then laughed, as though the idea of you giving him a special name was the best thing he had heard all day. âSure,â he said, grinning. âCall me Drew.â
From that day on, the name stuck. Only you called him that, while the rest of the world called him Joseph. It was your little secret, a bond that made you feel like you shared something special. And you did.
Every summer, you counted down the days until you could visit the Starkey family. It was traditionâlong, lazy afternoons spent playing outside, followed by evenings watching the stars come out. The best part, though, was the mornings.
Drew knew how much you loved watching the sunrise. Each summer, no matter how early it was, he would wake up with you before dawn, just so the two of you could sit on the hill behind the house and watch the sky change from dark blue to shades of pink, orange, and gold.
âThink weâll always do this?â you had asked one morning, your knees pulled to your chest as the horizon turned golden.
Drew looked at you, the early morning light reflecting in his eyes. âYeah,â he had said simply. âWeâll always be friends.â
At that moment, as the sun bathed you both in warmth, you believed him with all your heart.
When you were twelve, your family made the big move to Asheville, North Carolina, to be closer to the Starkeys. At first, it was a dream come trueâyouâd see Drew year-round now, not just in the summers. But as exciting as the move was, it came with its own challenges. A new school, new classmates, and a feeling of unfamiliarity that settled deep in your bones.
You werenât exactly the social butterfly Drew was. He thrived in new environments, easily making friends with his magnetic personality. He was taller than most boys his age, athletic, and undeniably charming. He played basketball, acted in the school plays, and it seemed like everyone was drawn to him. You, on the other hand, were quieter, more reserved. Drew was your anchor, the one person who made you feel like you belonged.
Despite being in different classes, Drew always made time for you. Heâd wait for you after school, leaning against the fence near the basketball courts, a crooked smile on his face as he waved you over.
âCome on, slowpoke,â heâd tease. âIâve got snacks for us before practice.â
It became a routineâhim waiting for you, you showing up at his basketball practices with snacks or a drink to keep him going. Sometimes, youâd sit on the bleachers, watching him run drills, marveling at how easily he seemed to fit into this new world. You were happy for him, of course, but there was always a small, nagging feeling inside you, something that whispered that you were being left behind.
You brushed it off. After all, Drew was still Drewâyour best friend, the boy who stood up for you when some kids at school made fun of your appearance. Youâd never forget the day one of Drewâs classmates, a girl from the drama club, sneered at you during lunch.
âHow can someone like you even be friends with Joseph Starkey?â she had said, her voice dripping with disdain.
You had felt a hot flush of embarrassment creep up your neck, your fists clenching at your sides. But before you could respond, Drew had appeared out of nowhere, stepping in front of you protectively.
âWhat did you just say?â Drewâs voice was low, dangerous, his eyes narrowing at the girl.
The girl faltered, shrinking under his glare. âIâ I didnât meanââ
âYou donât get to talk to her like that,â Drew snapped, his voice ice-cold. âIf I ever hear you say something like that again, youâll regret it.â
The girl had stammered an apology before scurrying away, and Drew had turned to you with a reassuring smile, as if nothing had happened.
âDonât listen to people like her,â he had said softly, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. âYouâre worth so much more than their words.â
From that day on, you never doubted that Drew had your back. He was your protector, your confidant, the one person who made you feel safe in a world that often felt overwhelming.
When Drew turned seventeen, he became more serious about his future. You spent countless nights together, talking about his dreams, about how he wanted to pursue acting full-time after high school. It was clear to you that he had the passion, the drive, and the talent to make it big.
The day Drew landed his first acting role was a day youâd never forget. You were sitting in your living room when Drew burst through the front door, grinning from ear to ear.
âY/N! I got the part!â he shouted, holding up a script in triumph. âI actually got the part!â
Your heart soared with pride as you jumped up from the couch, wrapping him in a tight hug. âDrew, thatâs amazing! I knew youâd do it!â
The two of you celebrated that night, just the two of you. Drew asked you to help him practice his lines, and for hours, you sat on the floor of your living room, reading through the script with him. He was nervous, pacing back and forth as he recited his lines, but you were there, steady and patient, helping him work through every scene.
Before his first day on set, Drew had come to you, his usual confidence replaced with anxiety. âWhat if I mess up?â he had asked, his voice wavering. âWhat if Iâm not good enough?â
You had smiled softly, reaching into your bag and pulling out a small, crocheted keychainâa little dog with floppy ears that you had made yourself. âHere,â you said, handing it to him. âConsider this your good luck charm. Keep it with you, and I promise youâll be fine.â
Drew had chuckled, pocketing the keychain with a fond smile. âThanks, sunshine. Iâll keep it with me, always.â
That first role was just the beginning. After high school, Drew went off to college to study acting, and though the distance was hard, you made sure to keep in touch. Late-night phone calls, long text conversationsâDrew made sure you were still part of his life, even from miles away.
And when he landed his breakout role on the Netflix series Outer Banks, you were the first person he called.
âY/N! Guess what?â Drewâs voice had crackled through the phone, filled with excitement. âI got a role on a Netflix show! Can you believe it?â
Your heart had swelled with pride, even as a small, selfish part of you wondered what this meant for your friendship. âDrew, thatâs incredible! Iâm so proud of you!â
You meant every word, but as Drewâs career took off, the distance between you began to growânot just physically, but emotionally. His life was changing, and you werenât sure if you still had a place in it.
The first time Drew mentioned Odessa Aâzion, you hadnât thought much of it. She was a fellow actor on Outer Banks, and Drew had talked about how they had become fast friends on set. But as time passed, it became clear that Odessa was more than just a friend to Drewâshe was someone important to him.
At first, you tried to brush off the feeling of unease that settled in your chest every time Drew talked about her. After all, he was bound to make new friends in the industry. But it became harder to ignore the way he talked about Odessaâthe way his eyes lit up when he mentioned her name, the way she seemed to occupy so much of his attention.
The first time you met Odessa was at Drewâs birthday party. He had flown back to North Carolina to celebrate with friends and family, and you were excited to see him in person after months of only talking through texts and phone calls.
When you arrived at the restaurant, your heart raced with anticipation. It had been so long since youâd seen Drew, and part of you hoped that things would feel just like they used to. But as soon as you walked in, you saw him sitting with Odessa.
They were deep in conversation, laughing together as if they were the only two people in the room. You felt a pang of jealousy, something you hadnât expected. Drew had always been your person, your best friend. But now, watching him with Odessa, it felt like he was slipping away.
When Drew finally noticed you, his face lit up with a smile. âY/N!â he called out, standing up to wrap you in a tight hug. âIâm so glad youâre here!â
You hugged him back, but something felt off. The easy familiarity that had always existed between you was strained, and you couldnât shake the feeling that something had changed.
Odessa greeted you with a polite smile, introducing herself, but the way she looked at Drewâlike he was the center of her universeâonly made the knot in your stomach tighten.
The rest of the night passed in a blur. Drew introduced you to his castmates, and while everyone was friendly, you couldnât help but feel like an outsider. Drew and Odessa were inseparable, their laughter filling the room as they shared inside jokes you werenât part of.
Later that night, as the party began to wind down, Drew pulled you aside. âI need to take Odessa home,â he explained, his voice apologetic. âShe had a little too much to drink.â
You forced a smile, even as your heart sank. âYeah, of course. Go ahead.â
As you watched them leave together, something inside you shifted. You couldnât ignore it anymoreâthe distance between you and Drew wasnât just physical. It was emotional. And it hurt more than you were willing to admit.
Months passed, and while you and Drew still kept in touch, things werenât the same. The texts were shorter, the phone calls less frequent, and every time you tried to bring up something personal, something about you, the conversation somehow always shifted back to Odessa or Drewâs new life in Los Angeles. It wasnât that you didnât care about his successâyou were proud of himâbut it hurt to feel like an afterthought, someone on the periphery of his increasingly glamorous life.
When Drew invited you to his familyâs annual BBQ, you hesitated. Part of you wanted to turn down the invitation, not wanting to face him and Odessa again. But the other part of youâthe part that still longed for the closeness you once sharedâcouldnât say no. This was the Starkey house, the place that had always felt like a second home to you, the place where your friendship with Drew had blossomed.
The afternoon sun was just beginning to set as you arrived at the familiar Starkey home. The front porch was adorned with string lights, and the smell of grilled burgers wafted through the air, mixing with the sound of laughter from the backyard. It shouldâve felt like a homecoming, but instead, all you felt was a growing sense of unease.
As you stepped into the backyard, the knot in your stomach tightened. Drew was there, sitting beside Odessa, his arm casually draped along the back of her chair. They were laughing, their heads close together as if they were sharing some private joke. For a moment, it was like watching strangersâpeople you knew but didnât recognize anymore.
Before you could retreat, McKayla spotted you. âY/N!â she called out, running over with a grin. Her hug was warm, and it reminded you of why you had come. The Starkeys were still like family, even if your relationship with Drew had changed.
âI missed you so much!â McKayla said, pulling back to look at you with a beaming smile. âItâs been forever.â
âI missed you too,â you replied, your smile softening as you hugged her again. If anything, McKayla had always made you feel welcome, like you were still an important part of their family.
Just as McKayla let go, Todd walked over, his familiar grin lighting up his face. âThereâs my favorite little girl!â he boomed, wrapping you in one of his signature bear hugs. âHowâve you been, Y/N?â
âIâve been good, Todd,â you said, your voice a little quieter now. âHow about you?â
âOh, you know, keeping busy,â Todd replied, his tone warm. âWeâve missed you around here, you know. This place isnât the same without you.â
Jodi joined the group, pulling you into a soft hug. âY/N, itâs so good to see you again,â she said, her smile kind but tinged with something deeperâan understanding, perhaps, of the distance that had grown between you and her son. âHow are your parents?â
âTheyâre good,â you answered. âTheyâre actually in Rome right now, celebrating their 35th anniversary.â
âAh, Rome,â Jodi sighed wistfully. âLucky them. They always did know how to celebrate big.â
You smiled at the familiarity of their banter, grateful for their warmth, but it wasnât enough to stop the tightening in your chest. Every few minutes, your eyes would drift back to Drew and Odessa. The easy way they sat together, the way Drewâs hand occasionally brushed her arm as he spokeâit was hard to ignore. Even harder to accept.
âLetâs get you something to drink,â McKayla suggested, sensing your unease and pulling you away from the crowd. As you followed her inside, you passed Drew and Odessa. Drew glanced up at you, a smile briefly crossing his face.
âHey, Y/N! Glad you could make it,â Drew said, his tone casual, but there was a distance in his voice that hadnât been there before.
âYeah, wouldnât miss it,â you replied, trying to keep your tone light, even though your heart ached.
You could feel Odessaâs eyes on you, though her smile was polite. âNice to see you again,â she added, her tone friendly but not warm. You nodded, but the knot in your chest tightened as the conversation shifted back to something between her and Drew.
As the night progressed, Drew suggested watching Hellraiserâthe movie he and Odessa had filmed together. It was the project he had talked about non-stop for months, and while you had been happy for him, you had avoided watching it. The idea of seeing Drew and Odessa on screen together, so intimately connected, made you uneasy.
âI think youâll like it,â Drew said as the group settled in front of the outdoor screen. âItâs one of my favorite projects.â
You sat between McKayla and Todd, grateful for the distance between you and Drew, but as the opening credits rolled, the familiar knot in your stomach returned.
At first, you tried to focus on the movie, telling yourself it was just another role for Drewâjust a job, nothing more. But as the film progressed, your discomfort grew. Drewâs character, Trevor, and Odessaâs character, Riley, had an undeniable chemistry, one that felt far too real. Every glance, every touch between them on screen felt intimate, too personal.
And then the first love scene played out.
You had prepared yourself for it, but nothing could have braced you for how raw it felt to watch Drew and Odessa in such a vulnerable, intimate moment. The room around you seemed to fade, and all you could focus on was the way Drew looked at her on screen, the way their bodies intertwined in a way that felt too real to be acting.
Your breath caught in your throat, and you fought to keep your expression neutral, but the weight in your chest was growing unbearable. You hadnât realized how much it would hurt to see him like this, to be confronted with the reality of how much you were no longer a part of his life.
A lump formed in your throat as you forced yourself to stay seated, but when the second love scene began, you couldnât take it anymore. The emotions you had been pushing down for months suddenly overwhelmed you, and without a word, you stood up, muttering a quick excuse to McKayla before making your way to the front porch.
As soon as you were outside, you collapsed onto the porch steps, gasping for air as the tears finally spilled over. You had been trying so hard to keep it together, but seeing Drew and Odessa like thatâso close, so connectedâhad broken something inside you.
âY/N?â
McKaylaâs voice was soft, and you quickly wiped at your eyes as she stepped outside, sitting down beside you. She didnât say anything for a moment, just sat with you in the quiet, the sound of the movie still playing faintly in the background.
âAre you okay?â she finally asked, her voice filled with concern.
You shook your head, your voice trembling as you spoke. âI donât think I can do this, McKayla. Watching them together... itâs too much.â
McKayla sighed, her brow furrowing in sympathy. âI get it, Y/N. Itâs hard. But you have to talk to him. He doesnât know how much youâre hurting.â
âI donât think he even cares,â you whispered, your voice cracking. âHeâs so wrapped up in Odessa and his career... I donât think I matter to him anymore.â
McKayla shook her head firmly, turning to face you fully. âThatâs not true, Y/N. I know my brother. He still cares about youâheâs just blind to everything right now. But you need to tell him how you feel. You deserve that.â
You wiped at your eyes, trying to steady your breathing. âI donât know if I can.â
âYou can,â McKayla said softly, her hand resting on your shoulder. âYouâve been there for him through everything, Y/N. He needs to understand how much youâre hurting.â
You nodded, but the thought of confronting Drew still terrified you. You werenât sure if you were ready to face him, to lay everything out on the table. But one thing was clearâyou couldnât keep pretending everything was okay. You couldnât keep carrying this hurt on your own.
The next morning, you woke up with the same heavy feeling in your chest. You had tossed and turned all night, replaying the movie over and over in your mind, each scene only deepening the ache in your heart. You needed to leave. As much as you loved the Starkeys, being hereâbeing around Drew and Odessaâwas too painful.
You packed your bags quietly, leaving a note for McKayla and Todd, thanking them for their hospitality. Slipping out of the house before anyone else woke up, you drove home, your heart heavy with unresolved emotions.
Back at the Starkey house, McKayla sat at the kitchen table with Todd, sipping her coffee as the morning sunlight streamed through the windows.
âShe left early,â McKayla said quietly, setting her mug down with a frown. âShe didnât say goodbye.â
Todd looked up from his newspaper, his brow furrowed. âThat doesnât sound like her. Did something happen?â
McKayla sighed, glancing out the window. âI think things are worse than we thought. Y/N... sheâs been really struggling, Dad. Watching Drew and Odessa together... itâs been breaking her heart.â
Toddâs face softened with understanding, his eyes clouded with concern. âSheâs been a part of this family for so long. I hate to think sheâs feeling left out.â
Before McKayla could respond, Drew wandered into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes groggily. âMorning,â he mumbled, heading straight for the coffee pot. But when he noticed the tension in the room, he paused, frowning.
âWhatâs going on?â he asked, looking between McKayla and Todd.
McKayla exchanged a glance with her father before turning to Drew. âY/N left early this morning,â she said, her voice heavy with worry. âShe didnât say goodbye.â
Drewâs frown deepened, confusion flickering in his eyes. âWhat? Why?â
Todd sighed, folding his newspaper as he looked at his son. âI think you know why, Drew. Y/Nâs been feeling like youâve pushed her aside for a long time now. Last night... watching you and Odessa on screen... it was too much for her.â
Drew paled, guilt washing over his face. âWhat? Iâ I didnât mean toââ He trailed off, his voice cracking with emotion.
McKayla crossed her arms, her tone gentle but firm. âDrew, sheâs been there for you through everything. But youâve been so caught up in your own life that you didnât realize how much you were hurting her.â
Drewâs face fell, the weight of his sisterâs words hitting him like a punch to the gut. He had known something was wrong between you two, but he hadnât realized how deep the hurt ran.
âI need to fix this,â Drew muttered, setting down his coffee and running a hand through his hair. Without another word, he grabbed his keys and headed out the door, determination written all over his face.
You werenât expecting Drew to show up at your door. After the overwhelming emotions of the previous night, all you wanted was some distanceâsome space to breathe, to think. The moment you opened the door and saw Drew standing on your porch, his expression filled with a mix of regret and urgency, your heart raced with a mixture of anticipation and dread.
âY/N,â Drew began, his voice soft but strained. âCan I come in? We need to talk.â
You hesitated for a moment, gripping the edge of the door, your mind torn between letting him in and closing the door on everything youâd been feeling. Part of you wanted to push him awayâto protect yourself from the pain that had been eating away at you for so long. But another part of youâa much deeper partâwanted answers. Needed them.
With a reluctant sigh, you stepped back and motioned for Drew to come in.
He walked into your living room, the air thick with tension. As you closed the door behind him, you couldnât help but notice the way he looked around, as though searching for something familiar to hold on to. His eyes briefly landed on a photo of the two of you from years ago, sitting on the mantleâa reminder of better times, of the friendship that had once been your anchor.
Drew stood awkwardly in the middle of the room, his hands in his pockets, his eyes downcast. It was clear that he was struggling to find the right words, but the silence between you was too much to bear.
âYou left without saying goodbye,â Drew finally said, his voice almost a whisper. There was a vulnerability in his tone, something you hadnât heard from him in a long time.
You crossed your arms, trying to keep your emotions in check. âYeah, I did. I couldnât stay, Drew.â
He glanced up at you, his eyes filled with guilt. âWhy? Why didnât you talk to me?â
You let out a bitter laugh, shaking your head as you looked away. âTalk to you? Drew, when have we really talked lately? Every conversation weâve had for months has been about Odessa or your career. You barely even notice Iâm there anymore.â
Drew flinched at your words, the weight of them hitting him hard. âThatâs not true, Y/N. I care about youâIâve always cared.â
âReally?â you shot back, your voice trembling with anger and hurt. âBecause it sure doesnât feel like it. Do you even realize how long Iâve been feeling like this? How long Iâve been watching you slip away, trying to convince myself that I wasnât losing you?â
Drew opened his mouth to respond, but you didnât let him. The dam of emotions you had been holding back for so long finally broke, and the words came tumbling out before you could stop them.
âDo you know how hard itâs been, Drew? To sit on the sidelines, watching you live this new life, while I feel like Iâm not even part of it anymore? Iâve stood by you through everythingâevery audition, every role, every milestoneâand when it was my turn, when it was something important to me, you werenât there.â
Your voice cracked as you continued, the tears you had been holding back finally spilling over. âYou missed my graduation, Drew. Do you know how much that hurt? You promised youâd be there, and you didnât show up. I waited for you. I waited for you because I thought, âThis is Drew. Heâll come. Heâll be there for me like Iâve always been there for him.â But you didnât. And when you said youâd make it up to me, I thought maybe, just maybe, weâd have one night where it would just be the two of us, like old times. But you brought her.â
Drewâs face fell, his expression filled with regret. âY/N, Iâm so sorry. I didnât realizeââ
âYou didnât realize because you never asked,â you interrupted, your voice trembling with the weight of all the unspoken pain. âYou were so caught up in your own world, in your new life with Odessa, that you didnât even notice I was falling apart.â
Drewâs eyes were filled with anguish, his voice barely above a whisper. âI didnât mean to hurt you.â
âBut you did,â you said, your voice cracking with the weight of those words. âYou hurt me, Drew. Every time I saw you with her, every time you talked about her like she was the only thing that mattered to you, it felt like a knife in my chest. And I tried to be okay with it. I tried to tell myself that you deserved to be happy, that you deserved to have someone who understood your world. But it didnât stop the pain.â
Drew took a step closer to you, his hands trembling as he reached out, but he stopped short, his voice thick with emotion. âI didnât see it. I didnât see how much I was hurting you. I was selfish, Y/N. I got caught up in everythingâmy career, Odessaâand I didnât stop to think about how it was affecting you. And I hate myself for that.â
You wiped at your eyes, trying to steady your breathing, but the hurt still sat heavy in your chest. âYou forgot me,â you whispered, the words so quiet you werenât sure if he even heard them. âI was there for you through everything, and when I needed you, you forgot me.â
Drewâs face contorted with guilt and pain, and he stepped closer, his voice pleading. âI didnât forget you, Y/N. I swear, I didnât. I just... I got lost. I let everything else consume me, and I pushed you away without even realizing it. But I never stopped caring about you. I never stopped needing you in my life.â
You met his gaze, your heart aching at the raw vulnerability in his eyes. Part of you wanted to believe himâto believe that he hadnât meant to hurt you, that he was still the same Drew you had always known. But the pain was still too fresh, too raw.
âYou didnât need me, Drew,â you said, your voice barely above a whisper. âYou needed her. Every time I saw you, it was like I was just... there. Like I was some ghost from your past, watching as you built a new life without me.â
Drew shook his head, his voice breaking. âNo. No, thatâs not true. Odessa was just... she was just a friend. I never saw her as anything more. But youâIâve always seen you. Youâve always been more than just a friend to me.â
Your breath hitched, the weight of his words hitting you like a tidal wave. âWhat are you saying, Drew?â
âIâm saying that I love you, Y/N,â Drew said, his voice thick with emotion. âIâve loved you for so long, but I was too blind to see it. Too blind to realize how much I was hurting you by pushing you away. But itâs always been you. Itâs always been you, and Iâm so sorry I didnât realize it sooner.â
You stared at him, your heart racing, your mind struggling to process what he had just said. âDonât say that, Drew. Donât say that unless you mean it.â
âI do mean it,â Drew insisted, stepping closer to you. âIâve been an idiot, Y/N. I let everything else get in the way, and I lost sight of what really mattered. But youâyouâre what matters. Youâve always been the one whoâs mattered the most to me.â
Tears filled your eyes once again, your heart warring with your mind. You had waited so long to hear those words, but now that they were finally being spoken, you didnât know what to do with them.
âHow can I believe you?â you whispered, your voice trembling. âHow can I believe that you wonât hurt me again? That you wonât forget me the next time something else comes along?â
Drewâs eyes filled with desperation as he reached out and gently cupped your face in his hands. âI wonât forget you. I swear, Y/N, I wonât. Iâve already hurt you once, and I will never make that mistake again. Iâll spend the rest of my life proving to you that youâre the most important person to me. Just... please, give me another chance.â
You closed your eyes, the warmth of his touch sending a shiver down your spine. You wanted to believe him. You wanted to let go of the hurt and let Drew back into your life. But trust wasnât something that could be rebuilt overnight.
âI need time,â you whispered, your voice thick with emotion. âI need time to heal, to figure out if I can really trust you again.â
Drew nodded, his thumbs brushing away the tears on your cheeks. âI understand. Iâll wait. Iâll wait for as long as it takes, Y/N. Just please... donât shut me out completely.â
You opened your eyes, meeting his gaze, and for the first time in a long while, you saw the Drew you had always knownâthe Drew who had stood by your side through everything, who had been your rock when the world felt too heavy.
âI wonât shut you out,â you said softly, your heart aching with the weight of it all. âBut this... itâs going to take time.â
Drew nodded again, his relief palpable as he let out a shaky breath. âIâll be here. No matter how long it takes.â
With that, Drew slowly stepped back, giving you the space you needed. The air between you was still heavy with unresolved emotions, but for the first time in months, there was a glimmer of hope. A possibility that maybe, just maybe, things could be repaired.
As Drew turned to leave, he glanced back at you, his voice soft but filled with quiet determination. âI love you, Y/N. And Iâm not going to give up on us.â
You watched him go, your heart conflicted but not as heavy as it had been before. There was still so much to work through, but for the first time, you felt like maybeâjust maybeâyou and Drew had a chance to find your way back to each other.
The days after the confrontation felt different. Lighter, but still uncertain. The emotional heaviness lingered between you and Drew, but there was something else nowâa shared understanding that things needed time, that rushing back into the past wasnât an option.
Drew kept his word. He didnât push you, didnât try to force himself back into your life as if nothing had happened. Instead, he started with small gesturesâthings that reminded you of the Drew you had known before everything changed.
Each morning, you woke up to a text from Drew. Simple things, like: "I saw the sunrise today and thought of you. Miss those mornings." Or, "Found an old photo of us. Remember this day?" They were small messages, but they carried the weight of years of shared history and memories you had thought were forgotten.
One evening, about a week after the confrontation, Drew showed up at your door with coffee in hand. The sight of him standing there with your favorite caramel macchiato, looking uncertain but hopeful, stirred something inside you.
âI thought you could use this,â Drew said, offering a small smile. âAnd I... was hoping we could talk. Just for a little while.â
You hesitated, but then nodded, stepping aside to let him in. Drew walked into your living room, his movements tentative, like he wasnât sure where he stood anymore.
As you sat together on the couch, sipping your coffee, the silence between you was less suffocating than before. There was still a lot to work through, but at least the distance wasnât unbearable. Drew glanced around the room, his eyes landing on the framed photo of the two of you from years ago, taken on a family trip to the beach. The both of you were grinning wildly, arms around each other, as if nothing in the world could break your bond.
âI remember that day,â Drew said quietly, a soft smile tugging at his lips. âWe spent hours building a sandcastle. It collapsed after five minutes, but we didnât care. We thought it was the best thing ever.â
You chuckled softly, the memory warming something inside you. âYeah, we were so proud of it.â
Drew shifted in his seat, his expression turning more serious. âI miss those days, Y/N. I miss us. I know I messed up, and I know itâll take time, but... I want to get back to that.â
You turned to look at him, your heart aching at the sincerity in his voice. For so long, you had felt like you had lost Drewâthe Drew who had been your best friend, your confidant, the person who knew you better than anyone. But now, sitting here with him, you realized that maybe he hadnât been lost forever. Maybe he was still there, waiting for you to let him back in.
âI miss it too,â you admitted, your voice soft but full of emotion. âBut... I need time, Drew. This isnât something that can be fixed overnight.â
âI know,â Drew said, nodding. âAnd Iâm not going to rush you. Iâll take as much time as you need.â
For the first time in what felt like forever, you felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe things could be different this time. Maybe you could rebuild what had been broken.
The weeks that followed were a slow process of healing and reconnection. Drew made an effortâan effort you hadnât seen from him in months. He started texting you every morning, checking in to see how your day was going. The texts werenât long or overly sentimental, but they were consistent. They were proof that he was thinking about you, even in the midst of his busy schedule.
Some days, the texts were simple:
"Howâs work going? Thought of you when I passed by the old park today."
Other days, they carried a heavier weight:
"Iâm sorry again, Y/N. For everything. I just want you to know that Iâm still here."
And as time passed, you found yourself replying more. The walls you had built up around your heart began to slowly crumble, brick by brick. Drew wasnât just making promisesâhe was showing you that he meant them. He wasnât rushing you or pushing for more than you were ready to give. He was patient, and that patience made all the difference.
One afternoon, Drew surprised you by inviting you to lunch at the cafĂ© you both used to frequent when you were younger. It had been years since youâd been there together, but as you sat across from each other, sipping coffee and talking about nothing in particular, it felt like you were slowly returning to a version of yourselves that had been lost.
The conversations were lighter, more comfortable. Drew listened intently when you talked about work, your hobbies, the things that had filled your life in the time you had drifted apart. And for the first time in a long time, you felt like you werenât competing with Odessa or his career for his attention. Drew was fully present, and that made all the difference.
A few weeks later, Drew showed up at your door with something unexpectedâa small gift bag in hand, looking both nervous and hopeful.
âI, uh, thought Iâd bring this over,â he said, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. âI know itâs not much, but I saw it and thought of you.â
You raised an eyebrow, curious, and took the bag from him. Inside was a small journal, the cover embossed with the words âFor Every Sunrise.â Your breath caught in your throat as you pulled it out, your fingers tracing the delicate lettering.
âI know how much you love watching the sunrise,â Drew explained, his voice soft. âI thought maybe... you could use this to write down your thoughts. Or even just to keep track of the sunrises youâve seen.â
Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes as you looked up at him, overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness behind the gift. Drew had always known how much sunrises meant to youâthose quiet moments when the world was still, when everything felt possible. And now, here he was, reminding you of those moments in a way that felt so personal, so deeply connected to the history you shared.
âThank you,â you whispered, your voice thick with emotion. âItâs perfect.â
Drew smiled, the tension in his shoulders easing slightly. âIâm glad you like it.â
For the first time in a long time, you felt like you were being seen. Not just as someone in Drewâs life, but as someone important. Someone who mattered.
As the weeks turned into months, you and Drew continued to rebuild your relationshipâslowly, carefully. There were still moments of doubt, moments when the hurt resurfaced and threatened to pull you back into the past. But Drew was patient. He never rushed you, never pushed you to move faster than you were ready for. Instead, he met you where you were, showing up for you in the ways that mattered most.
One day, Drew suggested a walk through the old park you used to visit as kids. It had been years since you had walked those paths together, but as you strolled through the park, side by side, it felt like you were reclaiming a piece of the past that had been lost.
âIâve been thinking a lot about us,â Drew said as you walked, his voice quiet but steady. âAbout how much weâve been through together.â
You glanced over at him, your heart tightening at the vulnerability in his voice. âYeah, me too.â
Drew stopped walking, turning to face you fully. His eyes were filled with a kind of determination you hadnât seen in a long time. âI donât want to take you for granted anymore, Y/N. Iâve been thinking about everything, and I know I hurt you. I know itâs going to take time to earn back your trust, but I want to be the person you can count on again. The person you deserve.â
You stared at him, your heart pounding in your chest. The sincerity in his voice, the way he looked at youâit was different now. There was no hesitation, no uncertainty. He meant every word.
âI want that too,â you said softly, your voice barely above a whisper. âBut I need to know that this time... this time, itâs real.â
âIt is,â Drew promised, his voice thick with emotion. âI swear, Y/N, itâs real.â
And in that moment, as the sun began to set behind the trees, casting a golden glow over the park, you knew that maybeâjust maybeâyou and Drew were finally on the right path. It wasnât going to be easy, and there were still wounds that needed time to heal, but for the first time in a long time, you felt like you could trust him again. Trust that he wasnât going to let you down.
Months passed, and the slow process of rebuilding trust continued. Drew didnât let up on his effortsâhe made time for you, prioritized you, and showed you in small, meaningful ways that he was committed to repairing the damage that had been done.
The two of you began to fall back into an easy rhythm. Movie nights, long conversations over coffee, quiet walks through the parkâit was like rediscovering an old friendship, but with the added depth of everything you had been through. The love you had for each other was still there, but now, it was stronger, more resilient.
One evening, Drew invited you to his house for dinner. It was just the two of you, and as you sat together on the back porch, watching the sunset, you felt a sense of peace settle over youâa peace you hadnât felt in a long time.
âIâve been thinking a lot about the future,â Drew said softly, breaking the comfortable silence between you.
You turned to look at him, your heart skipping a beat. âYeah? What about it?â
Drewâs eyes softened as he reached out and took your hand, his fingers gently intertwining with yours. âAbout us. About what we want.â
You swallowed hard, your pulse quickening at the intensity of his gaze. âAnd what do you want, Drew?â
âI want you,â he said, his voice steady but filled with emotion. âI want you in my life, in every way. I donât want to lose you again, Y/N. I love you. I always have.â
Tears welled up in your eyes as his words washed over you. It had taken so long to get to this point, to rebuild what had been broken, but now, sitting here with Drew, you knew that it had all been worth it.
âI love you too,â you whispered, your voice trembling with emotion. âIâve loved you for so long, and I donât want to lose you either.â
Drew smiled, his eyes filled with relief and happiness. âThen letâs not waste any more time. Letâs be together.â

Your Paris hotel room was warm and was bathed in a soft golden light from the setting sun, reflecting off the elegant dĂ©cor. You had been fussing with your oversized light pink shirt for what felt like forever, trying to get the belt to sit just right. Across the room, Drew stood in front of the full-length mirror, completely absorbed in his reflectionâbut not in the vain, self-centered way. No, Drew was clearly excited, though he kept glancing at you between admiring his navy with white striped cardigan.
âI think this is it,â Drew finally said, adjusting the cardigan again. âBut, you know, it doesnât really matter what I wear.â
You glanced up from your belt, raising an eyebrow. âOh? So now youâre going to pretend like you donât care about looking good at a fashion show?â
He chuckled, walking over to you. âNah, itâs not that. Itâs just... look at you. No oneâs gonna be looking at me tonight.â He stood in front of you now, hands casually tucked into the pockets of his jeans, staring down at you with the most obvious admiration in his eyes.
You rolled your eyes, but you couldnât help the warmth that spread through you at his words. Drew was dressed in the perfect blend of casual and stylish: a dark pair of jeans, effortlessly cool sneakers, and the LOEWE navy blue cardigan with white diagonal stripes that hugged his frame in all the right places.
"You look amazing," he said, his voice softer, more sincere now. His fingers grazed the fabric of your oversized pink shirt, adjusting the belt around your waist. âSeriously, babe. Youâre going to blow everyone away tonight.â
You looked down, hiding a smile. âI donât know... I feel like Iâm swimming in this shirt.â
Drewâs hands landed on your shoulders, and he took a step back to admire you. âNope. Youâre wrong. You look like you belong on the runway.â
Your heart fluttered under his gaze. The way Drew looked at youâsoft, appreciative, like you were the only thing in the room worth paying attention toâmade you feel like you were glowing. Youâd seen that look from him a hundred times, but tonight, there was something different. Something deeper. He couldnât stop staring, and it wasnât just the fashion show nerves. It was pure affection.
âI think youâre exaggerating,â you teased, though your smile gave away how much you loved hearing it.
Drew chuckled, pulling you close by the waist and placing a soft kiss on your forehead. âIâm not exaggerating. I just canât help it. Look at you. Youâre perfect.â
You looked up into his eyes, a little flustered but completely in love with the way he was looking at youâlike he couldnât believe his luck. The intensity in his eyes felt almost palpable, as though he couldnât quite get over the fact that you were his, standing there in front of him.
âOkay, okay,â you said, gently pushing him away, though you couldnât stop smiling. âEnough with the compliments. Weâre going to be late if we donât leave soon.â
Drew laughed softly but didnât take his eyes off you. âSure, but just so you know, my eyes are going to be glued to you all night.â
The LOEWE fashion show was nothing short of breathtaking. The venue was packed with celebrities, designers, influencers, and fashion industry elites, all buzzing with excitement for the latest collection. Photographers lined the runway, their cameras flashing non-stop as everyone took their seats.
As soon as you and Drew entered, all eyes were on you both. Drewâs hand was gently wrapped around your waist, guiding you through the crowd as you made your way to your seats in the front row. The energy in the room was electric, and you could feel the anticipation for the show growing by the second.
You could also feel Drewâs gaze still on you, even though the show was about to begin.
âAre you seriously still staring at me?â you whispered, nudging him lightly as you took your seat.
Drew didnât bother hiding his smile. âYeah. Youâre the most beautiful thing here.â
You felt your cheeks heat up, glancing away to try and shake the butterflies in your stomach. Drew wasnât being overly dramaticâhis voice was calm, soft, and completely sincere. When you finally looked back at him, his eyes hadnât moved from you. He was practically beaming, like a kid in a candy store who couldnât believe his luck.
âYouâre supposed to be watching the show,â you reminded him, trying to keep your voice light, though your heart was doing flips.
âI am,â he replied, his eyes still glued to you. âJust not the runway.â
The lights dimmed, signaling the start of the show, and the first models began strutting down the runway in their stunning, avant-garde outfits. The crowd murmured in admiration, but Drew didnât seem interested. His hand slipped into yours, giving it a gentle squeeze as his thumb lazily brushed over your skin.
You tried to focus on the models, the clothes, the lightsâbut it was impossible with the way Drew kept looking at you. His gaze was soft but intense, his eyes full of admiration and warmth. Every few minutes, heâd glance at the runway as if to remind himself where he was, but his eyes always returned to you.
âYouâre hopeless,â you whispered, though you were smiling as you said it.
Drew just shrugged, his heart eyes fully on display. âCanât help it.â
The show went on, and while everyone around you was absorbed in the incredible designs and the flawless models, Drew seemed perfectly content just sitting there, holding your hand and watching you like you were the only thing that mattered.
After the show, the venue transformed into a post-show party, with guests mingling, champagne being passed around, and conversations buzzing about the eveningâs outfits. Drew kept you close, his arm around your waist, his hand never leaving yours.
âYouâre seriously not going to take your eyes off me, are you?â you teased as you two wandered through the crowd.
Drew leaned in closer, whispering into your ear. âNot a chance.â
His voice sent a pleasant shiver down your spine, and despite the chaos of the party, you felt like you were in your own little bubble with him. You couldnât help but grin, feeling the warmth of his affection radiating through every glance, every touch.
But then, as if on cue, things took a slight turn when you spotted a familiar face across the room. Your heart skipped a beat.
Ryan Corr.
Your longtime celebrity crush. He was standing just a few feet away, casually chatting with some industry insiders, looking as effortlessly cool as ever. For a moment, you forgot where you were, completely starstruck.
Drew, being ever observant, noticed your reaction immediately.
âOh no,â he muttered, his voice low but teasing. âItâs him, isnât it?â
You blinked, trying to snap out of it. âWhat? No. I mean, yeah, but itâs not a big deal.â
Drew raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into an amused grin. âNot a big deal? Youâre literally glowing right now.â
You felt your face flush. âI am not glowing.â
Drew let out a soft chuckle, his arm around your waist tightening slightly. âYou are. Thatâs your heart eyes face.â
You rolled your eyes, but you couldnât deny the flustered feeling creeping up on you. âOkay, maybe itâs a tiny bit of a heart eyes situation. But I swear itâs nothing.â
Drew laughed, leaning in closer as his hand slid to the small of your back. âI donât mind. Just donât forget who youâre here with, alright?â
Before you could respond, Ryan Corr himself appeared in front of you, his easygoing smile making your heart do somersaults.
âHey, I just wanted to say youâre killing it in that outfit,â Ryan said, his gaze landing on your oversized shirt. âLOEWE always knows how to make someone stand out.â
You opened your mouth to reply, but before you could, Drew stepped in, his grip on your waist just a touch firmer now.
âShe pulls off everything,â Drew said smoothly, giving Ryan a smile that was friendly but clearly laced with something more. âBut thanks. She looks incredible, right?â
Ryan nodded, clearly missing the subtle tension. âYeah, she definitely does. Great taste.â
Drewâs smile tightened, and you could practically see the shift in his posture. He wasnât angryâjust a little competitive, a little protective. He wasnât going to let Ryan out-charm him, not tonight.
âYeah, well, Iâm the lucky one who gets to take her home,â Drew said, his voice casual, but the look in his eyes said it all.
You bit your lip, trying to stifle a laugh at how obvious Drew was being. Ryan, blissfully unaware, gave you a polite nod and excused himself to mingle with other guests. The moment he walked away, Drew let out a dramatic sigh, his arm still firmly around your waist.
âOkay, Iâll admit it,â he muttered. âI mightâve been a little jealous.â
You raised an eyebrow, laughing softly as you leaned into him. âA little?â
Drew pouted, though his heart eyes were still on full display. âAlright, maybe more than a little. But come on, Ryan Corr?â
You smiled, wrapping your arms around his neck. âYou donât have to be jealous. You know I only have heart eyes for you.â
Drewâs expression softened instantly, his grip on you tightening as he pulled you closer. âGood,â he murmured, pressing his forehead against yours. âBecause Iâve had them for you all night.â
You kissed him softly, letting the moment linger. When you pulled back, his gaze was still locked on you, filled with all the love and admiration youâd seen earlierâand more. His heart eyes werenât going anywhere, no matter who else was in the room.
Later, back at the hotel, you and Drew collapsed onto the bed in a fit of giggles. The night had been a whirlwind, from the fashion show to the party, to Drewâs obviousâyet adorableâjealousy.
âYou were so jealous,â you teased, lying down beside him and resting your head on his chest.
Drew groaned dramatically, covering his face with his hands. âI know. Iâm never gonna live this down, am I?â
You laughed, wrapping an arm around his waist. âNope. But I kind of liked it.â
He peeked out from behind his hands, his eyes sparkling with affection. âReally?â
You nodded, pressing a kiss to his chest. âIt was cute. Youâre cute. Even when youâre jealous.â
Drew sighed, pulling you closer and pressing a kiss to the top of your head. âWell, I guess itâs alright as long as Iâm the only one youâve got heart eyes for.â
âYou always will be,â you whispered, smiling against him.
Drew smiled, holding you tightly as the two of you drifted into a comfortable silence. And as the night settled around you, you couldnât help but feel incredibly lucky. No matter how many celebrities or crushes came and went, it was Drew who had your heartâand he knew it.
