What you said made me ponder and cry but, not in a negative perspective because, what you said is so true. It's crazy how Viserys expected things just to carry on in a smooth manner with just his words. He basically paved the way for the death of all his children , Rhaenyra especially. Viserys reminds me of my father , the type to speak but not do as he speaks of. Viserys is selfish and only named Rhaenyra heir to keep Daemon out the way of sitting the Iron throne but then , when Viserys did clownery the clown came back to bite and Rhaenyra married Daemon which adds even more conflict to what he "supposedly" said. That nips everything in the bud with some men in our society being shitty fathers. Parents say but, they don't do , in fact they never do. With that being said how the hell did he earn the title "The Peaceful"? lol , such bullshit.

Yes, she’s the rightful heir because Viserys made her the heir, but Aegon has a legal claim too thanks to law and precedent. And people underestimate how powerful that is. That scene with the Lannister in the tent during the hunt isn’t just to show you he’s an asshole. He is meant to represent the lords of Westeros in this scene. He is the clue to the political sentiment in the country. The lords expect Aegon to be named heir. This is why they pushed Viserys to get remarried. Even if Aegon didn’t want it, just by the virtue of being alive he’s a threat. And if Rhaenyra wants her throne absolutely secured, then knives are gonna come out. (I can give you several real life examples in history on this.)

Otto is not an idiot. He’s a very good politician and he can see the writing on the wall. If the Blackfyre’s were a huge problem, and they’re bastards, if Cat feared Jon Snow and he’s suppose to be a bastard, imagine a true born son. I don’t blame Alicent for not wanting to be at Rhaenyra’s mercy when that day comes, especially when her dearest friend, who she defended several times, just lied to her after just swearing on her mothers grave. And even more so when she marries Daemon. Daemon who just murdered his own wife, will have no problem killing Aegon and his siblings when it comes down to it and if it means a completely secure throne for Rhaenyra and him.

I understand where Alicent's son is coming from based off what happen for them to even exist and Aemond being permanently handicapped. He feels upset that one person who defended him when he lost his eye is now still holding love for the person that asked him to be sharply questioned after he lost his eye. Alicent is clearly going through something where she can't get over what happened where as Rhaenyra and kids are ready to move forward and give everything their all as they've already dealt with death and grief of Lucerys. If only Alicent kids sympathized in a slight with her but , she already "created monsters" as some say by telling them that Rhaenyra will kill them and they grew up with that mindset so, now Aemond calls her a fool and everything is just detailed to be very complex.
