Lucifer aggressively packing lunches, complaining and talking to himself about how it's ridiculous that he has to make lunches for his fully grown brothers, all the while making sure that Asmo's lunch has yogurt, Beel's has extra fruit snacks, Levi doesn't have goldfish, and Mammon has an instant spicy ramen cup or two.

Ozone and petrichor, the rumble of thunder, raindrops hitting dry soil.

“I like the rain,” Lilith said to him once, when they were so much younger—the two of them wet from head to toe, laughing and stomping in puddles.

He didn't understand why she liked it so much, but he joined her in the rain anyway. They went home shivering and Lilith had started sneezing halfway there, but the bright smiles on their faces stopped Lucifer from lecturing them for too long.

“I like the rain,” Belphie says, millennia later, Lucifer frowning at him as he leaves wet tracks across the entrance hall carpet.

Lucifer opens his mouth only to close it again. There's something in his eyes, the same thing that is mirrored on his youngest brother's face. Because Belphie isn't the only brother that misses Lillith. Not the only one who looks at the rain like it'll bring their little sister back. Not the only one that has thunderstorms on the roof of his heart.

And so, Lucifer sighs and doesn't lecture him for too long.

He smells caramel and roasted peanuts and butter.

“You'll feel as if you're floating through a sparkling, amethyst-hued dream. A dream glimpsed while gazing into a glass of wine lit by the night sky.”

It's a memory, he dimly realizes, one he used to remember fondly.

The cold evening air. Bright lights and loud music. Children laughing. The applause of a crowd as an acrobat lands safely on the ground. A man flying in the air, hands reaching the trapezes.

Broken promises of bringing Beel and Lilith to see the next performance.

“I promise you, it will be something truly special, like a wonderful, fleeting vision granted to you by the magic of a shooting star.”

The memory feels too bittersweet now; the magic has left him.

The soothing scent of lavender and jasmine.

It reminds him of his visits to Devildom Botanical Garden, falling asleep on of the benches, surrounded by purple and white. He liked the smell, he said once to Lucifer. The next time he went to the planetarium, he saw the same purples and whites in glass vases and pots.

Now, he connects the smell to the stars. To the meteor showers and the bright moon and the two stars that shines close to each other.

“Those twin stars,” he says softly on the rare occasions when his twin joins him in stargazing, “they're our stars, Beel.”

And they'll keep talking all night, recounting constellations, lying down shoulder to shoulder, until both of them are lulled back to sleep by the floral fragrant.

You join Belphie on nights when sleep eludes you. He is wide awake though everytime you do and he finds himself preferring to gaze at you rather than the stars.

When you fall asleep next to him, he makes you dream of galaxies.

The Demon Brothers: Shopping Headcanons

the demon bros go to the mall together, how bad could it be? 🛍️🛒 they're definitely one of those loud families, y'know? the one that takes up the entire walkway or causes a mess somewhere that blocks the mall traffic😂

Lucifer

Has prepared a list of the things he needs to buy.

He knows what he wants to buy and where to get them and only goes to those stores.

Gives the parent of a loud and crying kid a very judgemental stare.

Usually buys his clothes in high-end boutiques but if he goes to the mall and something catches his eyes from the store window, he's willing to check it.

Will never be seen shopping in sweats. He's one of those people who go to the mall looking like they're going to a fashion show.

Satan asks him if he needs some help with the groceries and Lucifer's pride gets Very Hurt and Offended.

“I can handle it, thank you very much," he huffs. Which he regrets a little later, not that he will ever admit that he maybe needs some help.

Mammon

Begs Lucifer to buy him the newest watch. Lucifer refuses.

Tries to sneak food into the shopping cart when they're shopping for groceries but he's not very subtle about it.

Makes tiktok videos with Asmo in one of the aisles.

He either overspends—buying the most expensive and unnecessary things, blowing up his money like he just got his first paycheck—or he's the most frugal shopper you have ever met. There is no in between.

“Oh, I got some coupons for that.”

“Wait a sec, lemme check my phone, I have an online code for the discount..”

“I wanna use my reward points to pay for this. They ain't expired yet, I think.”

Gets into a fight with another customer at the sale racks and clearance sections.

Negotiates the price with the uncomfortable and annoyed cashier who just wants to finish ringing up his purchases because he is holding up the queue.

Leviathan

Manages to walk through the crowd without brushing shoulders with other people, all while his eyes stays on his phone. It's a talent.

The stroller. Walks really slow.

Doesn't try to sneak in more junk food and snacks anymore, just straight up tells Lucifer before putting his food in the cart and hopes Lucifer is in a giving mood.

Goes with Satan to the bookstore to check out the comic books and manga sections.

The kind of person to check the menu online first because deciding what to buy at the counter of the mall café is Very Stressful.

Goes to the electronics store because he wants to check that new headphones. Doesn't buy anything, orders it online when he gets home.

Goes to the arcade if the mall has one.

“Wait, let me check it online first, maybe we can get it for less the price if we order it through their website.”

Satan

Goes to the pet store just to see the animals.

“Satan disappears again.” “It's fine, he's probably in the bookstore as usual.”

Just quietly slinks off from the group and then joins them again sometime later, holding a bag of new books.

Gets mistaken as a store employee.

Sneaks in food to the grocery cart and actually succeeds. Lucifer only realizes that there are extra groceries in the cart when he's already at the cashier.

Gets asked to record the tiktok videos Mammon and Asmo are doing.

The person that judges you after he glances at your cart and see what kind of groceries you're buying.

Somehow gets out of helping Lucifer with the groceries.

Asmodeus

Goes inside every stores that sells clothes or accessories.

Yes, he will try all of these clothes even though he knows he's not buying most of them. He just likes playing dress up.

Takes selfies in the changing room.

Buys the new products of his favorite cosmetic brand. His palm has shades of pink on it from sampling the lipsticks.

“Sorry, I can't help carry those grocery bags, I'm just too delicate for such brutal hard work😔. I'll leave it all to you, my strong brothers😌.”

Overall is having a great time, even if he's just window shopping. He enjoys shopping for the experience and not just the things he buys.

That one person who holds up the line because he's flirting with the cashier.

Beelzebub

Puts a lot of food in the grocery cart.

“Beel, you can't open it yet, we haven't paid for it— oh shit, okay just— just don't throw away the empty packages and we'll let the cashier scan those later.”

Checks out the sports store because he broke his sport shoes from the last Fangol match.

Offers to wheel another cart so Belphie can sleeps in it while they're grocery shopping.

Refolds the clothes back and reorganizes the products on the shelves. He doesn't like it when they're messy.

Stops at every snack kiosk.

Walks faster when they've finally finished all the shopping and are now heading to the mall food court before going home.

Belphegor

“Can I just wait in the car? Just leave the window open a little and I'll be fine.”

Finds a bench or a seat and just stays there until one the brothers comes and tells him they're moving to the next store.

Will sit on the floor near a wall if he can't find a place to seat.

Insists that he needs more pillows and blankets. Lucifer compromises with him and he only gets the new blanket.

Browses through the toys store to see if there's a plushie he likes.

Sleeps on one of the beds in the furniture store. Sleeps in a grocery cart. Also sleeps standing up in the most inconvenient spot.

Lets out a loud, relieved sigh when they all finally sits down at the mall food court. Complains that his feet is killing him even though he spends 89% of the trip sitting on the mall benches.
