Belphie’s Soliloquy

a/n: i was checking the links to the masterlist through my phone and i realized that chunks from this piece somehow just didn’t show up in the original post, so i decided to post this again in hopes that it works out this time.

Pairings: Belphie x fem!reader

Word Count: 838

Prompt: Prompt #01. “you are weak with love for her” from @drink-it-write-it​ ‘s pinterest based prompts.

     And to he who lay glancing towards the moon the world said, you are weak with love for her.

     And what if I am? What if in truth I am small and lie in earnest yearning for her?

     “What wrong is there in counting seconds on my hand as though time were grains of sand until I can see her again?”

     Those grains are precious to you.

     “Not when they’re placed before her, not in this life where reincarnations and brilliant new wakings no longer mean much of anything, when every day’s sun and moon and stars are all the same until she spares them a glance; not in this life where those same pieces of the world - which have often left me abandoned - glow even brighter through her eyes. What more than love could ever hope to exist in places like these? Places of injustice and filth and beautiful sorrows, of brief welcomes? Places like this where nothing makes sense but her and I, where loneliness in the company of the stars is something to be expected, but life no longer feels like an intermission to death when my hand’s in hers? How must I continue without our conversations - of loves found and lost - when just centuries before I shared soft whispers with a universe no longer intrigued with the sweetest of exchanges? And I wept, the world knows I wept, when in her presence I no longer smelled of rot, of Lucifer, of this world, and though we’ve only touched through eyes, I cannot help the flush within me when we meet for through her eyes I know that I am seen. One can be touched but seldom seen, I would know, and for the way that she so sweetly beheld me when she found me I think of her every day.

     Maybe this comes from the morning star from which I came to, and if these are pieces of the world from when it loved me I don’t ever wish to know, but in me there is an ache to be hers, to let there be pieces of me from her, to find my place of belonging in the curve of her neck where I can count the bumps on her skin like they’re constellations until my beloved one grants me rest.

     And yes I am lost, if I should meet her somewhere within a glance I am already lost, but by the dearest world I do not wish to be found, not when she smiles at me like she’ll know me in the next life and cherish me then as she does now. I will know her there as if we were of the same cloth, and it won’t matter if our meetings are confined to just nights or just days when in her arms I am loved by both.”

The Demon Brothers: Road Trip Headcanons

the demon bros go on a family vacay!🌃🌉 where? in devildom? the human realm? who knows! but they’re stuck in a car for hours together, they’re bound to drive each other crazy😌

Lucifer

Lucifer is definitely the one driving. Switches with Mammon halfway the trip.

They got lost at least twice. Someone keeps distracting Lucifer while he’s driving, causing him to take the wrong turn or missing an exit.

“Everybody out of the car! The next rest stop isn't for hours.”

Lucifer threatens to leave anyone that spends any longer than an hour in the gas station but it's mostly an empty threat and the rest of the brothers treat it as such.

Also threatens to leave one of his brothers right here in the middle of nowhere if they don't stop bickering. His threats aren’t really working...

You bet your ass Lucifer brought some travel size Demonus.

Acts like the road trip is such a big hassle to him but is lowkey glad that he can spend some time with his family together and away from work.

Mammon

Is probably the one that suggested the road trip in the first place.

Fights with Asmo over who gets control of the car radio.

Someone keeps kicking the back of the seat and he will find out who it is sooner or later.

He gets shotgun because of ‘big brothers privileges’.

“Y’all can cramp back there until one of you learn to drive or have your own car.”

Mammon is the kind of person that likes to buy souvenirs from every single tourist attractions. Thankfully, his brothers are there to be his impulse control.

Points out every single thing they pass by.

"Look, mountains!" "Wait, wait, is that a sheep?!" "That diner looks weird, let's go there!"

Has tried to fight a wild animal at one point of the trip.

Leviathan

Levi plays games on his handheld the whole car trip and surprisingly doesn't get motion sickness at all.

Complains when he doesn’t get a signal because his game freezes when he’s in the middle of a raid.

Keeps asking to turn up the car's AC when it's already freezing.

Levi sits there quietly, the sound of Asmo and Mammon bickering muffled in the background, glad that he didn’t forget to bring his headphones so he can listen to his own songs in peace.

He sings out loud though, and it’s annoying the rest of the brothers at first but it turns into a family karaoke in the car. They all end up badly singing along to songs for hours. At this point, Lucifer is just glad that his brothers aren't fighting anymore.

Can never sit still. It drives Satan mad.

Satan

“Everyone, please, can we have ONE MOMENT OF PEACE OR ELSE I’M GOING TO START THROWING ONE OF YOU OUT OF THIS CAR, thank you.”

He’s already cranky the first hour of the trip.

Is probably the one who keeps kicking Mammon’s seat.

He brings some of his books and reads quietly for half the trip until he gets motion sickness. He’s lowkey jealous at Levi who can keep looking down on his phone without feeling sick.

Satan gives very detailed information and ‘fun’ facts about any tourist attraction they're going to or passing by with an excited, “did you know that—” The other brothers patiently listen to each and every ramble.

Takes pictures of everything. Also gets dragged around by Asmo because Asmo found “the most aesthetic place ever!” and he wants good pictures.

Asmodeus

First of all, there is no such thing as packing light when it comes to this demon family trip but Asmo is on a whole other level. Half of the baggage is Asmo’s stuff.

Already starts a fight with Mammon twenty minutes into the road trip, complaining that he has the best music taste so Mammon shouldn’t be allowed to change the car radio channel.

Asmo refuses to eat gas station food. Thankfully, Lucifer doesn't really like them anyway, so they stop at a restaurant.

Complains alongside Levi when there’s no phone signal.

“Lucifer, drive a little slower! I need to retouch my makeup.”

Starts a game of truth or dare and has been one of the reasons Lucifer almost crashes the car twice. Truth or Dare is now banned in the car.

Beelzebub

Beel, ten minutes into an eight-hour road trip: "When can we stop and eat?"

How does he know the best place to eat at every trip destinations? No one knows but, hey, they’re not complaining.

He’s also in charge of making sure there is enough snack for everyone.

Get scolded by Lucifer for drinking fluids because now he has to pee again.

Beel is the brother that starts telling funny stories that turns into “remember that time when you...” and they all bring back every embarrassing stories they know of each other. (That's how they find out that Lucifer never ever forgets anything that has happened.)

He wants to see every tourist attractions but sadly they don’t have time for all of them :(

Belphegor

He sleeps through most of the car trip, what did you expect?

He snores when he's in a very deep sleep so Belphie keeps everybody awake, except for Beel who's already used to it from being his roommate.

Always wants to seat near the window.

“....I spy with my demon eye–” “Shut up, Belphie.”

Belphie comes up with the idea of telling scary stories. He also causes Mammon to jump in his seat and scream so loudly that Lucifer almost  crashes the car. Scary stories are now also banned in the car.

Says, “are we there yet?” every hour just to be annoying.

Always complains about leg room from the back of the car.

‘Good morning, Belphie!’

MC: Wow, great work on the Halloween decorations. Where did you get the fake skeletons?

Belphegor: Fake?

needless to say, i love the new cards so v much 😭❤️❤️❤️
