I see this pose used an awful lot in merchandise because it’s one of the few promotional photos of Brenner available.
What’s really going on is that Brenner is actually rocking on his feet and nervously biting his nails in anticipation while waiting for El to perform a task. He’s not putting his hand on his chin in an inquisitive expression.
It’s just a little nitpick because I’ve seen this scene so many times.
