His heart was thumping for a whole different reason now. She was so close he could smell the faint salty tang of sweat and lingering wood smoke on her.

this was honestly such an uncomfortable watch. I am still reeling. Dennis Quaid did a great job as well. the shrimp scene was *barf*

The Substance is truly one of the most horrific and uncomfortable movies I have seen this year. It was great in terms of body horror but holy shit, why did I go see this? I guess the greatest horror of it all was probably the insanely aggressive male gaze throughout (satirical yes, but so so realistic). I do appreciate the scene framing and sound effects though, it was so unsettling.

No, don't say that! you only get better by practicing more and more, I still feel sometimes like my writing sucks, but if there are people that enjoy it, I'll leave it out.
