au where james met regulus for the first time on the platform 9 and 3/4 during james' first year, where regulus noticed him doing something stupid and immediately fell in love. but since sirius was sorted into gryffindor, walburga and orion decided to homeschool regulus to make sure that wouldn't happen again. so the next time james saw regulus it was on his and sirius' graduation (cause regulus also run away from home, only it was few years later than sirius and he went to andromeda) and now it's james' turn to fall in love with the cutest boy he's ever seen

idk i just love the "they meet once when kids and then again when they're all grown up and the older one falls in love now" trope. it doesn't work that well since the age difference is just 1 year, but still
