So what is never let me go has a sad ending? They have an arc in our skyy2 which only has happy ends so they'll get their happy end eventually (even then all the other our skyy characters all have happy endings so 👀🤷‍♂️

i want to talk about ben's reaction at the principal's office

first off, i want to say that i don't excuse or justify his actions. what he did towards nueng was shitty and nueng has the right to feel upset at his actions.

ben was wrong for what he did but i understand him and this is why:

from what we saw, his father is homophobic. he showed aggression, displayed spite and frustration upon being met with the possibility his son might be into men. he belittles people with different sexualities and we see that in how he said "my son is the school president, he can't be into guys''. he made it clear that he doesn't respect, accept or understand people with different sexualities.

ben seemed scared in this situation. he might have felt fear that his father might hurt him physically or feared he would hate him for who he is. knowing that your own parent is ready to give up on you if they were to find out the truth is the worst kind of feeling. he doesn't want to lose his father, he doesn't want to be judged and hated by his own family. it's a feeling no one would wish to experience in their life. he feels like he has to live up to his father's expectations and he doesn't want to betray his trust in him.

you could see when his dad asked him if nueng was the one who initiated the kiss, he was actually torn up between making a choice - a choice to protect the boy he has feelings for or to protect himself from his father's wrath. in the end, he chose the latter.

ben knew that he's committing a mistake the moment he said out aloud it was nueng who started it all. he immediately felt guilt but he wouldn't take back his words - he did what he thought was best for protecting himself in fear of what was to happen if he admits the truth.

he didn't treat nueng right and no one deserves that, but i hope that people don't go too harsh on him - having to deal with homophobia, when it comes from your own family, isn't easy

Yknow what? If chopper /did/ do it then that's ok! Chopper deserves to go batshit! As long as he realizes what he did was cruel and genuinely apologizes I will forgive him! <3

And when Chopper finds out that ben put all the blame on neung? When he finds out what a grade A jerk ben was to neung? Well then he's gonna be forced to pick a side and that's his least favorite thing to do so if I was him I'd probably run asap.

As much as I shit on ben I wanna say I really do love him <3 and I hope neither he nor chopper turns out to need a redemption arc but if one of them has to I'd prefer it be ben bc chopper deserves to go batshit with no consequences

One thing I can not stand is how in bullying shoes when the victim actually fights back the adults then want to step in. Like where were you when the victim was getting harassed for months? Roll back the fucking cameras and ask yourself if that’s something you could handle yourself.
