For the never let me go side ship ben and chopper I've seen two very interesting theories on how their relationship will go

The first theory I saw was:

Due to jealousy chopper with work with his father to take down neungdiao and his family and eventually ben will eventually find out and gets upset over it causing chopper to realize what he did was rough and therefore having his redemption arc

This theory most like comes from the common "mafia/rich boy will get jealous and do bad things because of it then the person they care for/loves finds out and gets mad and only then do they realize what they've done wrong." Trope they often do for side pairings and/or rich x poor ships. Though you'll find many different versions of it, the trope isn't really hard to find.

Personally, I hope they don't go this route. It could be an interesting storyline if done right, but it's done often, and it's hard to pull that off nowadays without it being predictable and unmoving.

So far, going that route would seem out of character for chopper as (from what we've seen so far) he's a lot like neungdiao. I'm the sense that he controls his emotions. He's different from neung because he doesn't put distance between himself and others to protect his emotions it seems more like he hides everything from everyone.

An example of this is when he comes up to palm after class - he introduced himself and offered to help palm despite the fact that palm is clearly a beginner. At this point, I don't think Chopper knows that Palm is working with neungdiao or his family- he just wants to help out the new kid.

He has also stated that he doesn't want to compete with neung I believe this is not only because he's seen what happens when family is put against eachother with his uncle and father but also because he seems to dislike confrontation and violence. He's also not shy about letting his father know he doesn't like it either.

For example, the scene where his father hurts someone:

Obviously, I use this scene not because he looked away; we would probably all do that unless desensitized to it. But because after all is said and done, he confronts his father about it. He tells his father that he thinks it's too cruel and he says that he doesn't want to fight for neungdiaos role in the family; he wants to do it himself (probably so he can do it without the violence)

In conclusion, I don't think Chopper will join his father just because he is jealous over ben. I think he'd need a much bigger motivator to go against his dislike for the violence his father brings and the fact that he doesn't want to compete with neung at all.

The second theory is a lot more interesting to me as I don't think I've seen it done in this setting/capacity before:

Ben is the one doing bad things to get what he wants from neungdiao, and chopper finds out and doesn't understand or condone what ben is doing

I've already stated that I don't think Chopper likes the violence his family comes with and I think that backs up this theory: the fact that he wouldn't be ok with ben hurting someone to get what he wants (emotionally or physically).

Ben is extremely suspicious to me due to the fact that he says multiple times that he doesn't want anything from neungdiao and seems to be overly sensitive if someone accuses him of it. Not only that, but he only started trying to become friends with neung after his father passed away: when neungdiao is at his most vulnerable and has the most power he's ever had.

On the other hand you could argue that he's only getting close to him now because he has just lost his close friend chopper (I'll come back to this later in the post) and wants a friend he knows he has something in common with- music! Or that he didn't 'wait' until neungdiao's father passed, but he talked to him in the hope he could become a comfort to him while he's grieving his father. Both are valid arguments, and I don't think we have enough information about who ben is as a person to really decide which it is yet.

From what we have seen, I've come to the conclusion that even if ben is using neungdiao for something at this point in time, he hasn't started yet and genuinely wants to be his friend. though maybe what he wants out of neung is to be his boyfriend because it seems our boy has a little crush (poor chopper)

Another reason I have stated is because he has just lost his close friend chopper. It is said during ep 2 that ben wasn't the one who pulled away and basically ended their friendship but chopper. Though it seems like ben didn't really want the friendship to end.

I say this because the two have a genuine and cheerful conversation between the two before chopper asks ben what he wants from neung.

I feel the reason why he was much more offended when Chopper asked then when neung did is because Chopper was a close friend. Someone who should know that ben would never use another person to get what he wants (that we know of wink wink) but not only was this a close friend asking but one who has essentially diched him since he became class president (so probably the start of the year)

To finish off my thoughts on this theory I'd say that neither of these theories seems very likely based of the information we have from these first two episodes- of course my opinions could change depending on how these characters progress through the series. As of right now, it looks like these two theories are extremely out of character for both chopper and ben but we'll have to see how the characters grow before I say if I do or don't believe in either of them.

So now that I've said all I could over these two theories with information I've got from the two episodes that are out all I want to say is- I demand the palm + chopper friendship and neung + chopper family bonding time <3

Idk who chopper turns out to be he's soft hearted at his core and doesn't like violence he won't be like Vegas but if he is I'll stand by him <3

Neung's reaction to palm talking back to him and treating him like an actual friend would during the swimming scene 😭😭😭😭😭

and chopper my love my baby boy I s2g if anything bad happens to him I might break down and cry!!! And get his father OUT OF HERE that man terrifies me not only for neung and his mom but also for chopper himself my man's seems low key scared of his dad and its understandable!!!

Ben you sus bitch the more you're telling people to trust you the LESS I trust you!? Not only that but neung asked you not to talk about the fact that palm is protecting him and the first thing you do is tell palm you know?! Not to mention you're (unintentionally or intentionally we don't know yet) breaking choppers heart!!

Also chopper being low key friends with neung and high key friends with palm <3

Hey at least this episode proves that at the very least ben genuinely enjoys being friends with chopper ! (I was so upset for most of the episode so I'm trying to look at positives <3)

Whatever you do DON'T think about the fact that palms dad probably doesn't know anything about him because his mom raised him and his father lives quite literally HOURS away and rarely comes home and probably provides /maybe/ the bare minimum for his son (this is a hate acc for palms dad <3)

No because neung is SO jealous and possessive over palm despite the fact that A: They aren't dating and B: HE FUCKING KISSED BEN?!

I am ALL for palmneung/neungpalm and I genuinely love love love their storyline so far but at this point I don't think neung and palm's relationship would be healthy if they started dating now.

I'm all for possessive and jealous bfs/gfs but only if it's in a healthy sane and consensual way for example someone being like "yeah that's MY bf/gf back off" but only if the s/os had and have open and clear communication between them so they won't hurt the other by accident.

I want to see neung grovel for palms forgiveness I want palm to be distant and cold yet respectful I want him to be /exactly/ what his father wants him to be just to spite neung and him only being that way with neung himself.

I want palm and chopper to be best friends who complain about the people they like being absolute dicks to them and the other agreeing because /fuck yeah he's a dick/ because ben has been nothing but cruel to palm and well chopper is neung's cousin ofc he shit talks him they're family! (Like 'I despise you' (affectionate) kinda thing)

But most of all I want palm and chopper to be with people who love a respect them despite whatever differences they may have. People who actually enjoy their company and want them in their lives and are willing to fight for them and with them. We all know neung will eventually be that person for palm but until then I want CHOPPERPALM!!!!

And if ben can't be that person for chopper then fuck him chopper deserves better but if he CAN- if ben can genuinely and wholeheartedly love chopper despite how different they are when hes already stated that he likes people similar to him. When he doesn't want to risk what he a chopper have /again/ after he almost lost it already (because I know ben missed chopper he missed their friendship and he missed /him/) then i will cry tears of joy and will walk them /both/ down the aisle.

People are constantly saying that chopper's jealously is what might break his and neung relationship and I fully agree it could happen at some point but with the characteristics we've seen from both neungdiao and chopper so far it might be /neung's/ jealously that breaks them.

He has already shown what he's like when he is jealous of a girl just wait till he finds out that palm likes guys too(?) (Maybe he just likes guys we don't know rn I think he likes both tho) he's already said he trusts chopper but can that trust beat out his possessiveness? We've already seen him be jealous over how casually palm talks with chopper and as of right now he has no reason to believe that chopper likes someone else (ben)

I really hope they (the writers) don't ruin their relationship but I think that chopper deserves to go batshit for a bit so I have mixed feelings

You know what I really want? I want neung and choppers relationship to be like Tian and Yangs from 'to sir, with love' the two are constantly put against each other for their parent's own grudges and personal gain.

Despite this yang and tian don't and never will hate each other because they Both know the other has nothing to do with what their mothers are doing. They protect each other in any way they need to and have both proven multiple times that if they had to- they'd die for each other they'd put themselves in harms way just so the other wouldn't have to.

I understand that chopper and neung will probably never be as close as yang and Tian are (considering they're cousins who grew up in different homes rather than half brothers who grew up in the same house) but I want them to have a similar relationship because they deserve it

If you think about it- neung's actions unintentionally hurt two of the people he cares for most (other then his mom) palm and chopper.

We already know that neung is in love with palm already what he doesn't know is that palm feels the same way as he does- but they both know that it /shouldn't/ happen so he kisses ben. Someone who he /knows/ cares for him unfortunately he hurts palm by doing this because palm loves neung but he sees them (ben and neung) kiss so he is hurt but he's not supposed to be hurt so he pushes neung away as much as he can (which in turn hurts neung but that not the point of this post)

He's unintentionally (or maybe intentionally who knows) playing with bens feeling and that one day is going to blow up in his face but by letting ben flirt with him he is actively hurting both chopper and palm

He doesn't even know it and I really don't want to see the day where because neung has been leading ben on chopper has to choose between protecting his cousin and protecting the person he loves.

So by kissing ben he has hurt palm, chopper, and honestly himself and by letting ben think that neung might like him back he's leading ben on and hurting him.

Neung get your shit together man.

As much as I shit on ben I wanna say I really do love him <3 and I hope neither he nor chopper turns out to need a redemption arc but if one of them has to I'd prefer it be ben bc chopper deserves to go batshit with no consequences

And when Chopper finds out that ben put all the blame on neung? When he finds out what a grade A jerk ben was to neung? Well then he's gonna be forced to pick a side and that's his least favorite thing to do so if I was him I'd probably run asap.

So turns out palms mom didn't raise him which makes it worse bc that means he had to raise himself while his dad was out there taking care of someone else's kid.

Another reason why it wouldn't make sense for chopper to be the one who outed ben and neung: HE CARES FOR BOTH OF THEM! he knows how dangerous it could be for /both/ of the it just wouldn't make sense for someone like chopper (who so far has been nothing but a kind genuine and honest person) to out both of the people he cares for it also wouldn't make sense for him to call his aunt a cheater? He knows she hasn't cheated at anything and it's not like he wants the business anyway so it really wouldn't make sense would it?

Bro if chopper did out them how the fuck did he know they had kissed??I mean he wasn't there and neung didn't tell him so did Ben tell him? And if ben didn't did chopper even know they had kissed until they were outed? I wonder what his reaction was considering he's in love with ben but also bc that his cousin kissing someone so 🤣🤣🤣
