There are plenty of 12!Leo "Splinter Jr" being serious and formal only to be taken aback by r!Leo's personality
Wheres 12!Splinter who's steeped in manners and customs and traditions being taken aback with his first meeting with r!Splinter "Lou Jitsu" and "Leonardo Sr" blatant disregard for formalities and personality

hot soup or something

I feel like she would be really chill about learning about her alternate-future son, and then be really protective of him.

Cant believe I predicted their dynamic five months ago but in the complete reverse, an update was needed dfkjdhfgf

Turtles Forever scenario:
12 Raph is known to be a swearer. Guy swears like a sailor if he's given a chance to. Due to this he's often got 12 Leo (aka The Mom) on his case quite a bit about it. Especially when they're thrown in with the Rise gang (one look at Rise Mikey and 12 Leo cracked down hard on the no swearing thing). However 12 Raph has a somewhat difficult time not swearing, he's not like 12 Donnie who's known for getting by with his swearing habits or Rise Donnie who swears out of his little brother's ear shot. So 12 Leo and 12 Raph come up with a compromise of sorts.
12 Raph can swear but only in Japanese and not in front of the younger turtles, since no one other than the 12 boys know the language.
So he picks up the habit of swearing in Japanese saying the nastiest things imaginable and it works out rather well. So 12 Raph keeps the habit and it's a natural response at this point so much so that he forgets about the possibility of others in the different versions of themselves and their masters might know what he's saying.
It's just an out of the blue thing when it happens. 12 Raph stubs his toe on something and without even hesitating he straight up yells in Japanese:
"MOTHER FUCKING TITS."
Completely lost in his moment of pain when he hears a cup shattering on the floor behind him. 12 Raph snaps his head up completely spooked by the sudden noise and his pain forgotten only to make eye contact with 03 Splinter who's just staring at him in shock. And it hits 12 Raph that 03 Splinter was the pet of Hamato Yoshi, who lived in Japan before moving to New York.
Which meant 03 Splinter knows Japanese.
They have a small stare down of sorts, 12 Raph just frozen deer in headlights sweating like a sinner in church while 03 Splinter just stares at him. The rat recovers and takes a deep breath before saying calmly back in Japanese:
"I would reprimand you for the use of such language however, dealing with my own son I know for a fact that it will not work. So I will only ask that you watch your mouth."
And 12 Raph pale as a ghost because he's just barely escaped the devil himself at this point just responds with a:
"Hai, Sensei. Sorry."
Before literally getting the fuck out of Dodge. Later 12 Donnie will be asking him what's wrong and 12 Mikey will be poking at his shell wondering what's gotten him so spooked and 12 Raph will hallowly say:
"I swore in front of this lair's Master Splinter."
He'll get hisses of sympathy from his younger brothers and 12 Mikey would be the one to ask what he'd said while 12 Donnie would try to tell him it's not that bad and 12 Raph would look up staring them dead in the eyes before saying:
"I literally said Mother fucking tits."
And unknowingly Rise Splinter who was passing by hears it and the three just hear this God awful wheezing noise as the shorter rat completely loses his absolute shit, laughing so hard that he literally begins to cry. Leaving 12 Raph an embarrased mess while 12 Donnie and 12 Mikey try to help their brother while also trying not to laugh at this.
Later they tell 12 Leo when 12 Raph isn't within ear shot.
And are met with their clan leader laughing so hard he ends up collapsing from the sheer force of his wheezy laughter.
Not “good parent splinter” not “bad parent splinter” but instead “splinter raised four children with no resources as a survivor of horrific trauma and while he had better moments and worse moments. to simply divide his parenting as good or bad does a disservice to his character”
NO SHUT UP EVERYBODY SHUT THE FUCK UP

I JUST FINISHED THE MOVIE AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE EMOTIONALLY INVESTED IN ANYTHING IN MY ENTIRE LIFE THESE CHARACTERS MEAN SO FUCKING MUCH TO ME WHAT THE FUCK-

Dating Master Splinter (2012) Would Include…
Master Splinter never gets any love :(
As usual GN! Reader

• No PDA. While he does show his love to you through gestures and words, and a hug here or there, he reserves his affection to be in private. It’s not embarrassment or anything, it’s how he was raised.
• When alone, he loves to kiss your cheeks. His whiskers would tickle and cause you to giggle. When you weren’t paying attention, he would sneak a kiss on your lips.
• HUGS! Oh my god. His fur is so soft and warm. When he would envelop you in his giant arms, it was as if a giant teddy bear hugged you. He is very gentle with you, but held tight, especially when you were upset.
• “I love you” would come rarely. This, he wouldn’t hesitate to say in front of his sons. The first time he said he loved you, was after an encounter with the Shredder that left you extremely injured. He wouldn’t leave your side after that day.
• Comfortable silence. Either it be you reading a book and Splinter meditating next to you, you enjoyed each other’s company and time. Maybe a small conversation here and there.
• Of course Splinter being the turtles father, you would take on a parental role. Teaching the brothers patience, compassion for one another. Most of all, love. They love you to death and would do anything to protect you.
• Meals. Everyone loves pizza, but after a while it got repetitive. There would be nights you would mix up and make something new for your family. Of course, Splinter would always appreciate it, especially when you made a new batch of cheesecicles.
• Cuddling. Tons of it. When you both are alone in your room, or when the brothers are on patrol, you would jump at the chance to wrap yourself around your lover and watch tv in the living room. When you were laying down for the night, Splinter would wrap his large paws around your smaller frame, holding you close, snout snuggled into the crook of your neck.
• He would train you to become a Kunoichi. Whether you had past training or not, he would work with you day and night, learning the ways of a ninja. He would treat you the same as his sons in the dojo, pushing you to your limits to become your best self.
• He always makes sure your needs are met. Are you hungry? He has a bowl of soup in front of you. Thirsty? Tea is already brewing. Whatever you needed, he made sure you got.
• Overall he is an amazing spouse and loves you dearly. He isn’t going to make the same mistake to you as he did with Tang Shen. You couldn’t ask for a better rat-man.

Embers of a Shattered Legacy
Word Count: 1347
Hamato Yoshi let Oroku Saki destroy his life. Burnt away is his legacy as he rots in his loneliness. His clan, his livelihood, his budding family. All smothered under ashes and blood.
OR
Splinter wallows and mourns the past but new beginnings are afoot.
Hamato Yoshi thought he was turning into a spiteful, bitter, young man. Well he was pushing that now, growing older by the day, an entire legacy blew past as ashes in the wind.
He had long lost his brother. Saki, his beloved brother, was a monster. He wasn't a fool. He certainly wasn't wise but he knew he noticed they had grown apart as of late. No, not as of late. Now they were mortal enemies but truly, he could see signs even as teens when they'd started drifting and it pained him.
Memories of his sensei scolding them for roughhousing instead of sparring properly flooded in front of his eyelids. Thinking back on the countless times they had fought he had never taken Saki's worries and anger sincerely. He had just brushed it off as silly and childish: insignificant. He put his brother down and had pushed him away to the path that had to have led him to The Foot.
The anguish was almost as painful as the loneliness. Yoshi didn't like being alone. Not the physical sense of being alone, that was something he could even find solace and enjoyment in. No. What he was talking about was the bitter, skin tearing, ear aching, foul smelling, gut punch of there being no one. No one to give love to. No one to share soft moments with. No one for him to sit quietly and listen to anymore.
Yoshi was utterly alone for the first time. Even as a kid he could only remember being surrounded by his clan. He always had someone to answer his inquisitions and always had someone to guide him or his brother or friends to connect with on a deeper level. Being so surrounded and smothered made being alone a luxury yet now that same haven was the materials of his cage.
His loss of self may have been tied to his clan but he could survive that if he had his family. His sweet Tang Shen and Miwa. His life partner and precious daughter. The calm yet powerful nature and blooming fire to his cold rocky base.
Yoshi missed his fiancé. His Shen. The girl he’d been enamoured with since he was a foolish teen and who had liked him back. He reminisced on the days where he would break so many wooden boards practising kicks and punches that the floor was covered in splinters. Shen had given him the nickname Splinter after that but now he had no one to share such a silly nickname with.
He had no one to talk poetry or philosophy or couplets with. His dear, sweet, intelligent Shen was enriched in culture and always wanted to be in a deep intellectual conversation and Yoshi was never happier than then. Yoshi would never get to see his beautiful partner teach his little Miwa her first words. How to read. About her heritage and culture and about her beloved philosophies.
His Miwa. His beautiful, bouncing baby girl. Torn from his arms and the world as the fire consumed the house she was meant to grow up in. The house that was meant to hold her siblings. They hadn't just wanted Miwa. Tang was adamant on at least 5 pairs of feet running around.
Yoshi had years of plans and hopes and dreams that had burnt with his girls. He lost it all. Staying in Japan was too heart-breaking. Seeing his homeland through eyes that knew his kid never got to see them, that his late partner was never to bear witness to them again was too painful to even exist in.
Instead he fled to New York City, United States of America. Shen had always wanted to visit America. One of the reasons Yoshi had put off seeing it was because he knew Shen would most definitely want to move there. She had an obsession with the culture there and most of her literature had expanded about the Americas in recent years. Now it was just another regret. Something he stopped her from doing in her short life.
Touching down on the American soil a week ago was a blur to him already. He had made the decision hastily as his life moved in a blurred slow motion. He was as dead as his family for those few weeks after Saki had fought him in their home. He'd never had more regret than when he felt the crimson of Shen's blood coat him and allow for the smoke to stick in thick clumps on it. Tainting it. It burned despite being just blood.
He hadn't even registered what had happened at the time. He and Saki had been fighting in his home and wrecking it. It sent Splinter into a rage and he let Saki's words anger him further. He hadn't even noticed the lit candle they had knocked until it was too late and the home he had so lovingly built up was engulfed within the flames.
Tang had thrown herself in front of him and all he could think of was why. He was weak to let the woman he loved die for him. To let her murderer escape as the supports gave out and buried him as he shielded her body.
He had blacked out after that and had woken up outside of their home. His sweet Shen and Miwa still trapped inside as the flames continued to burn the dwindling remains.
He had not even stayed long enough for the firefighters to put out the fire. He had travelled to the nearest town and slept on the street, unable to pay for any accommodation right then. He hadn't stayed long enough for their bones to be dug out of the ashes for their burials of which he hadn't stayed for either.
Instead he let those last two weeks in Japan go by quickly. Besides meeting with Shen's family to tell them the news and withdrawing the remains of the Hamato fund, all he had managed to take with him were a few keepsakes and family heirlooms.
On his last day before his loneliness cemented into his bones and he left for America, he went to Shen's favourite place in the forest and buried her now withered flower which had survived the burning miraculously. It was his way of remembering his partner's livelihood and how he'd tucked it behind his baby's ear, her hair just having developed enough to cover her head entirely. He buried the flower and laid their souls to rest with it.
Now he was alone. Sitting in a dingy, cheap apartment in New York with rattling pipes and the deeply ingrained smell of mildew. On the wall was a pet shop poster. They were holding a fundraiser and had many animals for sale to support a couple of charities.
That poster had blown in his face whilst he walked alone to the cornerstore for the bare essentials a couple of days ago. He had since decided to do something good, support others whilst becoming a dad to a couple of reptiles. Shen had always been fascinated by the creatures and always spoke about getting some. Snakes and lizards but especially turtles. He knew more about them than he thought he ought to as he lovingly listened to her ramblings.
He was currently setting a large tank up on the small table. It looked comical but was sustainable for a few baby turtles. Shen would never forgive him if he let himself waste away and mourn. If she was around she would have smacked him up the head and talked some sense into him. The thought had the corners of his mouth tugging unwillingly into a smile.
He was going to be a dad somehow but no one could ever replace Shen. Maybe when he was ready he'd adopt but for now, he'd father some turtles until they passed. Pet turtles typically lived much shorter lives than their counterparts anyways.
It'd just be another chapter in his life.
Maybe he wasn't so bitter yet.
Hi!! So I enjoyed writing this so much. Splinter does not get enough attention and there are so few Splinter-centric fanfics nowadays, its unreal!! I really wanted to take this in a different way than you might first interpret it. The pure mental and physical isolation Splinter must have felt when his entire family and life went down the drain must've been huge and I wanted to capture that while throwing some Yoshi x Shen headcanons in there :3
I hoped this was a good read!!
I forgot to on my last post but a huge thanks to my best mates for Beta-reading these and keeping me focused. Love you all ♡♡

My friends,
The official trailer for “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie” HAS BEEN RELEASED! I found out when I was looking through Instagram and found an edit of this trailer. You cannot believe how many times I jumped.
One, after seeing the rushed yet incredible ending to the series, I thought that that was the tragic end to Rise. Seeing this has brought all the hype back and made this summer more memorable. YEAHH!
Two, may I point out our turtles being aged-up in one scene? Gosh, the fact that Leon looks like he has Raph’s arm— WHAT HAPPENED? I rewinded a few times, and I don’t think I see him or Donnie. This is surely going to bring up more potential for angsty fan fiction.
Three, Leon’s growing into his position as leader. To be honest, I was hoping for the trailer to have bits of Leon and Raph, where they’d talk about the sudden switch-over. I did feel bad about Raph being taken out of his leader role, when that was something he had been in for a long time. With the show’s hasty ending, maybe the movie can redeem this aspect?
Four, am I seeing things or is April attending university now? Congratulations, April!
Five, as one of Leon’s fan, I approve of screen time.
Best regards, MsBarryBeeson. (August 5th is the movie’s release on Netflix.)

Forgot that Splinters arms are hairless :')
Fictional characters that definitely deserved better

💪Jen Walters (She-Hulk: Attorney at law)💪
She-Hulk is one of those shows I enjoyed because of the vibes, no surprise that a bunch of dudebros were doing their usual hate on the MCU crap again, especially going after this show.
I like how the show made Jennifer relatable and likable from the start, Tatiana did such a amazingly performance as the titular character along with matching her sassiness and wit like she have in the comics.
The possibilities of She-Hulk season 2 are slim to none, but I still have hope of Jen coming back in the future.

🛩️Andy Demayo (Steven Universe)🛩️
Even though he was kinda rude in his debut episode, but honestly, you would be confused and angry too if you see a bunch of strangers in your barn.
Besides Greg and the residents at Beach City, he rarely calls out Steven's dangerously daily lifestyle with the gems and shows that he cares about his recently known nephew.
After Gem harvest, he resolved the bittered distance and continue visiting his family, even showing at Garnet's wedding.
It was kind of a waste that Future didn't give him anything important to add, he would connect and helped Steven's dilemma with the fear of change, similar to his.
Also a hilarious fun fact, Andy's VA is Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

🐁Splinter (TMNT 2012)🐁
Honestly one of the most tragic characters in the show, from a broken man who lost everything, to a loving and protecting father who found a new lease on life, along with a family that care for each other to the very end.
He can be strict but he does care about his family and would die fighting for them, he literally died to save them and would do it again if he have to.
Hoon Lee's electrifying portrayal speaks for itself and the critical juncture of his past that parallels him and Shredder is another reason why the show is underrated.
I hate the backlash that this character has been getting and that people are labeling him as a bad father but he's not, the show literally has moments of him caring and protecting his family from danger.

🕸️Miles Morales (Spider-Man)🕸️
Without a doubt, Miles is one of the best Spider-Man characters of all. Pretty disgusting that people are using with the whole Miles Morales is Miles Morales crap to hate on a character that brings a new meaning for a iconic role model for kids.
Into and Across the Spider-verse done a outstanding job, making Miles's personal journey and growth so emotional and inspiring.
Sucks that the third film is going to take a long time to premiere, but at least the PS4 games also give him justice and continues shining Miles.
Miles Morales will forever be one of the best Spider-man, it just sucks that some people won't accept him continuously, but in some way at least there's some people who actually respect him as a character, knowing that he is in forever will be Spider-Man and that makes it him amazing.

📋Lois Lane (My Adventures with Superman)📋
My Adventures with Superman is a show that should be talked about especially on how well written it is, the show adapted Lois very well, along with her budding romance with Clark.
I literally hated how Lois gets treated like garbage by a certain amount of people after the whole secret identity thing, the show does prove that Lois is flawed and complex in a good way, making her likable and relatable, she makes mistakes but that doesn't mean it's a bad thing, everyone does.
The latest episode of season 2 really proves that Lois is a good character, showing her empathetic past and complicated relationship with her dad.
Also, Alice Lee's fun performance as the character is just top notch, whether she's happy or sad, she just nails Lois's character without a doubt.

🧬Morty Smith (Rick and Morty)🧬
This boy has been through enough, with neglectful parents, a sister that does care about him but is focused on her own life, Rick cares sometimes, but can be a real jerk. Morty is more you can be his own person the truth is some things can be holding him back, mostly his grandfather.
I'm glad that Rick is trying to change for the better, I remember I hated the way he treated Morty thoughout the seasons whether using verbal or physical abuse, it also sucks when he tried to do something good yet the universe basically just throws it back at him like a giant middle finger.
I'm glad that the later seasons proves that Morty could be a badass and he can handle himself, but I hope when the new season drops, they find a way to handle his trauma because he deserves a hug.

🎳Wade Whipple (The Sonic franchise)🎳
The Sonic films are underrated but it's problem is that it gets dunked on, especially thanks to a so-called outside of the box thinker.
But unlike the other live action films with bland and boring human characters, the human characters in Sonic are actually likable and memorable, among them is Wade Whipple.
I really don't think he's one of the worst characters in Sonic, honestly his sister and dad deserves to be on that list.
Honestly people hate him just because he have more screen time than Knuckles but one, because it's a TV show budget and Knuckles is in the show, they are acting like he never was in the show.
Two, at least it added layers and flaws that made him even more relatable and serves a purpose to Knuckles's journey.
Like with Tom and Maddie with Sonic, his friendship with Knuckles is another core example of why Knuckles work and his actor, Adam Pally's performance was great too.

🔪Sam Carpenter (Scream 5 and 6)🔪
Sam is another character that deserves more attention and respect than before, partially thanks to her actress.
Aside her rough past and learning the dark truth about her family, Sam cares about the people she loves and isn't afraid to fight for them, even fighting her own personal demons just to do so.
Melissa Barrera is a underrated actress, though Her performance in part 5 was good, I think she was just basically outperformed by everyone else, and it didn't help that she was getting bullied and criticize by bunch of toxic fans.
Scream 6 gave Sam justice and proves that she's a badass final girl, especially thanks to the crew and cast of the films who care and was there for her but thanks to a certain company that fire her for doing the right thing, what's the point of even watching Scream 7 without her and the core four but the good thing is at least it gave her and Sam a bittersweet ending.

🐝Chloe Bourgeois (Miraculous Ladybug)🐝
This one is a completely personal rant, I used to be a fan Miraculous. But after watching the season 3 finale, I feel like the magic of the show just basically disappeared, and seasons 4 and 5 was a huge sign that the show fully gone off the rails.
I remember hating Chloe in the first season and I'm pretty sure everyone else felt the same feeling too, but season 2 actually did the the most surprising thing, actually gave her some character development.
It might be baby steps but still development, she might have been spoiled and selfish sometimes but they actually do show that she has flaws.
Malediktator was one of the best episodes of season 2, they were able to showcase Chloe's vulnerability and it prove that she can change and still be a useful ally like the other miraculous holders.
She protected her friend from getting akumatized again, she almost got Mayura's miraculous, and heck, She literally defied Hawkmoth's control, unlike the other akumatized victims, that is basically spells hero-worthy.
But of course as always, Thomas is just too spiteful and that thinks that Chloe is not just worthy and replaced her with a bland, forgettable and useless character who only exists just because she is "better" than Chloe.
It's honestly just pathetic that her corrupt father who spoils her and the literal villain of the show, who done some horrible and awful things get a redemption arc, but a literal misunderstood child doesn't, it just proves that the writer's room just don't even know how to handle character development nor redemption arcs.
It's even more sad that the film actually treats Chloe better than the show does.
The truth is whether do you like or don't like Chloe, it's possible that she can change, it's just that Thomas is the actual problem of the show, I hope one day somehow Chloe might actually get a actual chance to shine as a character again but maybe in the future it could still could happen.
Loved Mutant Mayhem when I first saw it, I was on board when a sequel and show got announced.
