Thoughts on the 6th eps of 2gether

It may contain spoilers for those who haven’t watched it yet and a bit about the future according to the novel (there is an alert before).

I will talk a lot about things I’m concerned and disappointed.

I will also say things that need to be addressed but I don’t want to have to fear exposing my opinions and that’s why I won’t excuse myself for saying the truth about your favourites in the mids of all the hype this series and the cast is getting.

Let’s star with: I really like the actors, being a series from GMM you always have the feeling everyone is a big family and interacts really well with each other and you can feel imersed in a big group of friends. Therefore, I basically don’t have anything bad to say about the friends of Tine’s and Sarawat’s. Their dynamic is so great; in the begining I didn’t quite fall for the stupidity but got accostumed with how their humor relief is transposed to the audience.

The girls representation: I bloody absolutely hate, hate, hate how they are there just to get fanatic over guys at the university, exept P’Air and Prae so far... The first scene this happens on this episode is when high school girls go to an Architecture tutoring enrolment just to see Ming, Drake’s character, and they are so exagerated it’s pitiful. (I’m making a pause here because you may say that it “always happens on BLs”. But, come on, we are watching a current, a new series that is supposed to be more modern and have a new story and originality, YES we do love watching it, sometimes even because of the clichês, but these girls are degraded to an extend of unbarable sadness it brings me. It is not funny, it is not normal, and we should not just ignore it for the sake of the romance we are all here to watch. Again, on the football field, the girls on the back with signs and almost on verge of tears just by seeing a guy? Ridiculous. The third, and worst time, was with the girl Tine pays to make Sarawat jealous. Because only a girl on shorts and crop tops could be the obvious way to make a guy jealous, right? And jealousy has to involve practically undressing him on a bar shamelessly, right? And then she has to act all overboard when she sees Sarawat and join that comotion of fans, which were just girls, whilst all the boys were seated talking as if nothing was happening on that bar; those weren’t just fans of Sarawat, they were a representation of the stupid massage the series gives to Sarawat’s ego.

Pause again just to mention how  with any crumb of Gunsmile I see, I want more of him being a dork. He’s always there on most shows I watch so I’m very attached to him on my screen. Proceeding...

Just by the end of the first part, with one scene, Ming and Phukong just sold it to me with how great their banter can get, i truly loved and got eager for more of them. The grupy and the pusshy trope really get’s to be very satifying to watch when well acted within it’s limitations. The extend Phukong went to actually get Ming to be his tutor was so tender I just need more of them.

Sarawat is problematic with his pictures of Tine but I’m not talking about that right now, I need more to work on a deeper analises, because consent with this guy is so blurry and don’t get me started with him and his friends deliberately getting Tine drunk.

So we get to Green. Since the first trailer I watched, the whole story just wasn’t appealing at all to me. Green being used as a gay feminine guy to be mocked and run from, to be lied and once again, used as a character that degrades himself for someone, a guy, who would never bat an eye to him, and I’ve NEVER seen anyone actually speak up to what is happening regarding him. The scene on the bathroom is just so heartbreaking because we never get Green the credit of being desired, yes, he still persues Tine, agressively even, and I’m not excusing him, but I wish he was handled in a more positive way. SPOILER ALERT FOR THE NOVEL: When his boyfriend actually gets revealed I’ll be waiting a different and better treatment for the both of them.

Oh Toptap. As Type, his total of 10s of appearence so far make me so mad, even though I don’t have high expectations for his relationship with Mike’s character, Man, I can feel the pining. And, me too, as a fellow pan, fell for him with one glance the first time I saw him. This storyline is great. When Man tries to distract the security to be caught so easily hahaha that’s comedy.

L CO HOL the bar, how did I need someone on twitter to provide the absurdity of how obvious that means?... Loved it.

The whole Scrubb show edit was great, if you listen to them when in love, you can actually fall deeper and I felt that. Also when the camera focused on Tine and Sarawat with a wider shot, there was a girl on the back dancing so nonchalantly and I wanted to be her.

So even though this is the best episode so far, on my opinion, after watching it I can officially say I don’t like at all what I’m watching but I’m the typical person who can't abandon a show once I start, so let’s see how it ends.

I have a problem with how the girl representantion in 2gether is one of the worst I’ve ever seen on a BL ever

I will specifically talk about the 6th episode:
