Chuuya x ADA!Reader Angst
You worked at the Detective Agency, he worked in the mafia. Fated to cross paths only in battle-except for the one time you teamed up to defeat the guild.
He loved you, despite being from different jobs and if anything, despite being enemies. Every time you’d fight him he’d go easy on you-enough so that no one gets hurt. It couldn’t be helped. The others noticed it too a bit how he’d always talk about you and always find ways to see you.
Even as you fight he’d complement your style, how hard you hit, your hair, your ability, anything he could think of just to compliment you.
Everything in him snapped as soon as he saw you half dead on the ground. Lying there as the vampires almost crushed you. If if weren’t for Dazai he’d have been long gone thanks to his corruption. He knew he had to get you out of there and go to Yosano.
After all the plans, Fyodor almost surviving-Atsushi and akutagawa finally defeating him alongside his monster. Chuuya questions if life is worth it in the Mafia anymore. To work at the agency with you sounds like a dream to him-if they accepted Dazai they could accept him too-right? That way he could protect you on all your missions together.
To be able to come into the office every day and say hello, to see your smile and smell your perfume-sounds like a dream to him. Talking about various missions (though his always consisted of physical combat). You’d go to them together and he could easily protect you. Chuuya wouldn’t need to hide from anyone and he could be by your side.
But in the end he knows that it could never happen. He feels to guilty about his past and if he left bad things would happen. Forever locked away in the mafia.
It was no surprise to Dazai that he heard Chuuya got caught and sent to a prison far away for his crimes, time to reflect knowing Mori would probably bail him out anyway with how rich he was. But until then he wanted nothing more but to spend eternity with you-even if he had to atone for his sins to do so.

too many skk aus with beast chuuya meeting canon skk and the angst from beast chuuya’s pov cause he craves what canon skk have BUT LISTEN
i offer an alternative au idea with canon skk suffering! that is canon skk meeting ada chuuya. we all know in Beast Afterword asgr mentioned that there is likely a universe where chuuya left pm with dazai and joined ada. now imagine that chuuya ends up in canon skk world due to some ability. imagine canon skk seeing this chuuya who is in the Light bc of Dazai. the realization that chuuya is loyal to pm but his loyalty to dazai outweighs that. the pain that had dazai asked chuuya would have left with him. canon skk having to see ada chuuya casually mention sth about their life and burning with want and jealousy because this version of them didnt suffer like they did. they dont have a 4 year distance. they dont have things that the other doesnt know bc that’s what 4 years do to someone. especially when the transition is from a teenager to an adult. this chuuya would have dazai witness all his change and he’d see dazai’s changes too. they’re on the same side. partners still. can easily reach out for the other, can easily speak about the other without feeling like their heart is twisting. this version of them have everything that canon skk so desperately want but cant have.
this is what we need. we should leave Beast Chuuya alone cause he fr has suffered enough and do this!

the feeling of “why him and not me?” that canon skk will have seeing ada chuuya. canon dazai thinking what did the other dazai have that made chuuya trust him so much as to turn his back on the people he considered family. what did that dazai have that he doesnt?
and canon chuuya thinking what did this chuuya have that made dazai love him so much that he asked him to leave with him. why this chuuya and why not him? what did he lack?

Some added changes to my Purpose! AU which featured brief DOA! Chuuya then moves on to ADA! Chuuya (bro is moving around organizations like PARKOUR!!)
So how Chuuya gets affiliated with the DOA-
I don't have all the details yet and I prefer to keep them more vague in the au since I genuinely have no idea which direction this story will go and I'd like to keep my options open-
But in some way either:
Fyodor kills Dazai
OR
the Port Mafia has some part in dazai's death (chuuya is not involved) like they refuse to aid the ada or just outright have the chance to save him but don't
(Likely due to something said in the earlier seasons where mori was scared dazai would kill him to assume his position as Port mafia boss)
If fyodor were to kill Dazai, it would take place a little after he takes over Bram's body, and to keep it EXTRA juicy Dazai is killed by falling off a roof, and somehow Chuuya isn't able to use his ability to save him. The one time this godforsaken ability would have helped him, it only aided in the loss of someone important yet again.
Fyodor gets Chuuya to join by saying that a world without his ability would free him from the burden of it, as well as proving that he and arahabaki are separate entities, meaning he is in fact human.
He also ties in how having this ability only brought him to the loss of all the important people in his life, and the loss of Dazai is kind of like the last straw
If the Port Mafia were to have a part in Dazai's death, chuuya would realize that his loyalty to Dazai is greater than his loyalty to the Port Mafia and leave of his own volition, no emotional Manipulation necessary. Joining the Decay of Angels would mean that his ability, as well as the abilities that in his eyes only bring more problems into this world, will one day disappear, and maybe he can finally live the normal, human life he earned.
Either way, it ends with a not-fully-healed-but-on-his-way-there chuuya joining the ADA in Dazai's place. He starts to resemble Dazai more, like with a slightly calmer, looser, free-er demeanor and even donning his tan trench coat. In this au, dazai and the others chuuya lost are to chuuya the way odasaku and ango are to canon dazai--they are the stepping stones that lead him to the light, the reason he joins the side that saves people.
I'm planning on drawing some of this au but on my art account, @god-shit-girl-art , so if you wanna see these ideas in picture form, you can follow me there!! I also wanna get some feedback on this au especially how you guys would prefer the way dazai dies, either by fyodor or by the PM. I haven't really decided yet and I'm not exactly sure what would be more in character for chuuya's writing. I may start a poll too
