The planet Ra’na (anglicised for human pronunciation convenience) is a vibrant world slightly smaller than our Earth orbiting a nearby star in the constellation of Cetus. It hosts a diverse and thriving biosphere, which includes a single sophont species who call themselves skae.
The planet features:
> Two continents (Apheliotes and Eurus), one supercontinent (Aeolus, composed of Boreas (NE), Caicias (E/SE), Zephyrus (C), and Skeiron (W/NW)), one subcontinent (Notus), and one sunken continent (Aparctias).
> Twenty tectonic plates, eight of which are relatively recently formed.
> An immense, extinct(?) supervolcano (Hephaestus caldera) which occupies roughly 2% of the planet's entire surface area (not even counting its later relative Vulcan on the eastern caldera lip).
> Five major mountain ranges (the Ourean, Rhea, Apu, Tamrakar-Jesson, and Hillary-Norgay ranges).
> And 16 major rivers (Typheus, Echidna, Ophuichus, Hydrus, Hydra, Cetus, Scylla, Scorpio, Major, East, and Minor Yaldabaoth, East and West Orthrus, Aquarius, Eridanus, East and West Abraxos, and Leo).
Regions include the vast, windblasted Setekh Desert; the fractured Vulcan Plateau; the boggy Vishnu Swamp Forests; the thriving Ophion and Quetzalcoatl Rainforests; the mysterious Neonazca Steppe; the isolated Aparctias Island; the ancient Nepthys Forests; the frozen Jotuun Tundra; and more.
