This is beautiful. ☀️
"You are Amun, the Lord of the silent,
Who comes at the voice of the poor;
When I call to you in my distress,
You come to answer me,
To give breath to him who is wretched,
To rescue me from bondage...
Though the servant was disposed to do evil,
The Lord is disposed to forgive.
The Lord of Thebes spends not a whole day in anger,
His wrath passes in a moment, none remains.
His breath comes back to us in mercy,
Amun returns apon his breeze..."
Parts from a votive stele of Nebre from Deir el-Medina found in The Complete Gods and Goddesses of Ancient Egypt by Richard H. Wilkinson
I love your poetry! Could I request one for Amun please?
O' Amun,
King of the Gods,
Your breath is the whispers on the wind,
your radiance is the rays of the sun.
You fill every aspect of our world,
instilling all with life.
Your breath fills my nostrils,
and my ka is strengthened,
readying me to face another day.
Dua Amun!
