I just thought of something.
What if Hamilton married Angelica instead. We know both Eliza and Angelica were in love with Hamilton. If Angelica and Hamilton got married, would their child still die in a gunfight?

Hear me out: Hamilton was challenged because he didn’t vote for Burr. If he was with Angelica, he might not have cheated, meaning that he could have become president.
It’s possible that he could’ve grown old like the other founding fathers if Angelica hadn’t let Eliza have Hamilton.

I just wanted to add, about the corset.
Nothing wrong with a woman wearing a corset, just not what Angelica is wearning.
Most notably female known pirates wore men’s clothes, notably Anne Bonney and Mary Read even exposed their breasts.
But from a technical perspective there is nothing wrong with having a female pirate with female underwear, if you do it right.
Which they did not.
But POTC is set around 1720-1750 when corsets weren’t invented yet. Normal female undergarments were a pair of stays, which improves the back and posture, while also supported the bust (something Angelica might have needed more than Elizabeth).
If they weren’t wearing a pair stays jumps would be a less constrictive, less boned version, that would lead to more bending ability while fighting, but would still support bust and back.
And for aesthetic reasons they even had some with metal hooks. Not that they should be seen, both jumps and stays were undergarments, but if she kept female undergarments and paired it with a male jacket that could have worked.
Well-fitting stays (or jumps) did not restrict breathing, working women wore them all the time, especially while lifting things they supported the back, which is something a pirate might do. And stays were made to fit back them, because you only had 1-2 pairs that you wore all the time.
And they would have kept a good body core temperature when it’s windy out on a ship or cold at night. Considering they were made from linen, cotton or silk, they would have also been breathable in hot weather.
They could also give a bit of padding when it comes to blunt force trauma to the torso, from getting kicked or punched for example. And with a good seamstress you could technically make a hidden pocket in the sides or the bust portion for a hidden knife pocket.
Like if they wanted a corseted look, they could have done that while keeping it within the time they are setting and making it look sexy by simply not giving her a blouse to put over, instead just keeping the male jacket for a bust support with practical overcoat look.
Because stays and corsets are awesome garments that really help support your body, coming from someone who works a labor job and wears them all the time.
A Brief Analysis of Female Pirate Attire in POTC
Basically: The original POTC trilogy, specifically DMC, was 10000x better at dressing female pirates than later sequels.
Here, Elizabeth isn’t a kidnapped damsel making the best of what she has—she’s a stowaway on a mission to find her fiancé, and she dresses like a boy to blend in. Therefore she wears all men’s clothes—a man’s breeches, a man’s shirt, a man’s waistcoat, a man’s frock coat. Historically, this is how real female pirates dressed—just like the men, because it’s a practical look.
We don’t see Anamaria much, but what we do see is, again, practical men’s clothing.
And now we have Angelica. There’s a lot to unpack here. In the originals, the designers were clearly going for a historical, practical look—in OST, however, they just wanted sex appeal, and it shows. Note the off-the-shoulder shirt that conveniently displays cleavage (not an 18th century design, I assure you) and the sexy underbust corset (which wasn’t introduced until the 1860s). Also, the “waistcoat” cuts away for the sole purpose of showing off her curves. (And why would a pirate even be wearing a corset in the first place? They’re not made for action.) Overall, it’s a very modern “sexy pirate” costume that I could find at Party City.
The original trilogy had CLASS and understood its territory. The same cannot be said of the sequels.
