I love Chappell's approach to makeup. Like she's not out here serving beat face contour smoky eye no-makeup makeup. She uses it like a fashion accessory, or like part of a costume. As a means of expression and becoming a character. And then she goes on tiktok with no makeup at all, because she's not in character at the moment.
It just seems like a much healthier approach to makeup. You don't need to fix your face before you can be seen in public, but you CAN have a lot of fun with it the same way you can have fun with fashion. Like why is anyone arguing about whether makeup is self care or self harm when there is literally a very simple answer.
