Don't you hate when you sustain your point the best way you can, tell the person you're talking to various facts, shows them proofs for what you're saying and the person just slam their fucking fingers on the same keys on their keyboard just to say that same sentence and derivates that you refuted 24 times in a row?

Am I the only one who have noticed that proshippers and related will always blame the person for stumbling upon bad content and getting upset because of it, until the person throws out an argument that makes them look bad? It goest like:

"Blud, I have the right to be upset, I literally came across gloryfied rape fanfiction."

"So? It's not our problem, you inflicted that upon yourself, don't whine about it."

"Nigga, I was literally 8 years old, how can you blame a fucking 8 year old for getting traumatized because of gloryfied rape?"

An I find that real fucking weird...

Say it louder for the people in the back, specially with the glorification of non-con. Like, idc if you portray crimes, rape, pedophilia or other terrible nasty shit in your work, the problem starts when you show them on a positive light. Specially when there's no warning to start with.

I rly hate the Satanic Panic & the moral panic surrounding violence in video games in the 90s, coz it's now impossible to talk about the social implications of violent video games in a realistic sense.

No, violence in video games does not create serial killers in the way most people imagine it would.

However, it's very important to notice how after 9/11, a lot of violent video games pivoted their content from silly gratuitous cartoon gore to more realistic military shooters set in the Levant from a US American lens. It's also important to notice the connection of these games & their toxic online multi-player voice chats to Gamer Gate in 2014.

It's obviously not as black & white as it was presented in the 80s & 90s, I dont think everyone who played early Call of Duty games is a white supremacist who wants to join the military to kill people in the middle east, but I think it's dangerous to pretend like video games or any media can't have an impact on the way people think about violence.

I think what makes all the difference here is how that violence is portrayed, what the message behind it is, what the motives are behind the people who crafted that message, who the victims of that violence are, how they are portrayed & the greater cultural context that surrounds it.

Basically, another brand of proshipping. Both comship and proship support problematic ships, like adult X minor, for example. The major difference is that a proship might not take action, but still defend it and a comship does take action, besides trying to pull tropes that have nothing to do with it, like queer couples, along with them, so they can try to have an argument.
