Colin has never had a good woman to appreciate him, so I don’t understand why Penelope’s suitor needs to be pristine husband material. If Debling is a schemer like Marina I could get behind it, especially if Colin has to make a hard choice to save her from him just like Penelope did, because that might be a plotline giving him empathy for how she acted as Whistledown.

May Penelope realize her self worth outside of male validation.
May Penelope trip every time she dances with Debling because he doesn’t know her rhythms like Colin does

May Penelope have kept Colin’s unread letters and at some point read them and reveal Colin’s unfriendly romantic feelings clearly started BEFORE the Debling jealousy plot, even if he didn’t recognize them as such.
May Penelope stop writing Whistledown and move on to a healthier outlet for her writing talents, and publish under her own name (Penelope Bridgerton)

This promotion is giving bad fanfiction where Shonda obviously loves Pen and wrote her an OC. It really makes me wish Julia Quinn was more of a fighter when it came to her source material, because JQ obviously loved Colin and Polin as a couple, whereas Shonda and her writers only like Penelope, don’t really care about Polin and couldn’t care less about Colin, and they’ve made a fandom that acts the same way.
I’m gatekeeping Colin Bridgerton from people who are obsessed with the idea of Penelope making him jealous with other suitors, even if that means I have to gatekeep him from Shonda Rhimes herself!!!
False advertising is bad UNLESS it’s Netflix overhyping Debling to pull in all the casuals and then paying him dust in the actual series, moving on quickly and not even taking him seriously for a second. Like I actually need some of these fans to be disappointed this season not gonna lie. I don’t care if y’all like the season, I care if EYE like the season and I have no use for Debling in my Polin season at all. If the season ends with most of the audience screeching because Colin didn’t grovel enough, or they didn’t get to see him act jealous enough, or Debling wasn’t the good guy they jumped on the bandwagon for, I’ll literally be over here:

I hate to break it to you, but Penelope entertaining the idea of being with a man other than Colin Bridgerton for even a second is also out of character, and yet here we are.
They don’t see Colin as his own character and they don’t get Polin as a couple. They certainly don’t understand friends to lovers since this obsession with Debling is based on some idea of him being in love at first sight with Penelope - an idea the show itself doesn’t even support since COLIN has to help her find a man.
Because a fan of Polin the couple would be more concerned that the show wants to give so much of what made this couple beautiful over to a random OC, diminishing Colin’s role in his own love story, and belittling Polin’s relationship to just “well he was there first.” These Penelope only fans would sacrifice Polins entire love story for the chance that Penelope could gain male validation from multiple men, and swear up and down that that’s “progressive.” Their fantasy isn’t for Penelope to get the man she wants, their fantasy is for Penelope to have options. Their fantasy is revenge. That’s not a romance.
The Polin fandom needs to stop putting Debling on a pedestal when we know nothing about this man. I’ve seen horrible takes by “Polin fans” saying Debling will be Penelope’s knight in shining armor and teach Colin how to treat her right. That she needs to be properly courted and romanced before “settling” for Colin. These are the same people who campaigned for Debling and Penelope having sex the SECOND the fake Sun article dropped. There is a fine line between being a Polin fan and a Penelope only fan. You only see Colin as a prize Penelope earns instead of his own person. That’s why as soon as he doesn’t act according to your standards, you start rooting for the other guy. This season is about Penelope AND Colin. I’m tired of his own fans being his biggest haters.
You will never catch me rooting for this couple when I know their child will come out looking like Yukon Cornelius.
The people wishing Penelope hooks up with Debling are purely doing it for their own gratification because if they understood anything about Penelope’s character they’d understand she does not want anyone but Colin. She’s looking at other men out of desperation and necessity. But her only desire is Colin. So you want her to hook up with a guy she doesn’t actually want to get back at the guy she does want so…what? So she can feel empty inside because affection from someone you don’t want will always cancel out into something you don’t want? But you, the viewer can feel like she got even with Colin? So Colin doesn’t have a one up on her with romantic experience? Do you think Penelope will feel good after hooking up with someone who’s not Colin, or are you just thinking about how Colin will feel bad?
I’m so angry, no, repulsed by those stills. Love triangles are old and boring. Debling, I literally do not give a damn about that man. You can’t make me. I want COLIN. Pen wants COLIN. Give us COLIN.
I’m not even interested in this coming season anymore. Seriously, it’s just meh. How has Bridgerton ruined Bridgerton for me?

Lmfao people saying they’ll feel bad if Debling doesn’t end up with Penelope because he loves her so much. Like… he loves her so much he would turn her into a lonely house sitter so he can go to Antarctica??? He’d rather go to ANTARCTICA in 1815 than be with his wife. He’s attracted to penguins and seals maybe, but Penelope no. And do you know how tedious and dangerous an arctic expedition would be in 1815??? Penelope loves society, the right man for her will encourage her to take her place at the center of it, not encourage her to remain in the shadows.
