I’m a writer Colin truther because Colin spent his first summer abroad writing letters to his whole big ass family (plus Penelope) and Penelope was the only one to respond to all of his letters.

And then he goes away for a SECOND summer abroad and writes to his whole big ass family (plus Penelope) and even fewer people respond the second summer away???

And he just…still keeps writing them letters???? Yeah that’s a man that misses Penelope but that’s also a man who just likes writing. Wasting time and ink going “surely my family will write back if I can create really evocative descriptions of sunsets” like the NERD he is.

Book Polin fans… coming from someone who started the show without reading any of the books and only read them during this long wait for S3… I kinda think people are taking the complaints that the show gave Benedict Colin’s personality as an excuse to say Colin has no personality, when the two things are NOT the same.

Colin has a personality. In fact he has his same personality FROM THE BOOK. The problem is that Benedict has some (and I mean only SOME) of it too when they should’ve either kept Benedict the same as his book counterpart OR given him a fresh personality that fit a niche in the show that wasn’t filled yet.

And some of the stuff that’s given to Benedict in the Colin/Benedict personality tug of war we gotta gatekeep for Colin, I’m sorry. The amount of times I see people credit the “have you ever been to a farm” scene to Benedict is wild.

I never want to hear “Show Colin isn’t like book Colin at all” when this is literally book Colin:

Desperately trying to come up with a cool one liner to say before kissing Penelope, literally getting too horny for words, and unable to think of anything because he’s so into it his mind goes blank.

Colin trying to play things cool and failing is 100% in character for him across book and TV. This is plant pun Colin, this is “I practiced my speech to Cousin Jack for you” Colin, this is “you said one nice thing to me and now I must drown myself in lemonade” Colin. Yeah he’s popular and charming and cute but he’s also a flop and a nerd, it’s called the duality of man lmfao.

Gatekeeping Polin from people who do not like or understand the Friends to Lovers/ X Fell First and Y Fell Harder tropes. Please stop inserting your revenge fantasies into their story plz and thank you!!!!! If you don’t like Polin’s tropes stay in line, there’ll be something for you in a different season, but leave this one for the lovers!!!

“Colin being a rake is out of character!!!!”

I hate to break it to you, but Penelope entertaining the idea of being with a man other than Colin Bridgerton for even a second is also out of character, and yet here we are.

They don’t see Colin as his own character and they don’t get Polin as a couple. They certainly don’t understand friends to lovers since this obsession with Debling is based on some idea of him being in love at first sight with Penelope - an idea the show itself doesn’t even support since COLIN has to help her find a man.

Because a fan of Polin the couple would be more concerned that the show wants to give so much of what made this couple beautiful over to a random OC, diminishing Colin’s role in his own love story, and belittling Polin’s relationship to just “well he was there first.” These Penelope only fans would sacrifice Polins entire love story for the chance that Penelope could gain male validation from multiple men, and swear up and down that that’s “progressive.” Their fantasy isn’t for Penelope to get the man she wants, their fantasy is for Penelope to have options. Their fantasy is revenge. That’s not a romance.

The Polin fandom needs to stop putting Debling on a pedestal when we know nothing about this man. I’ve seen horrible takes by “Polin fans” saying Debling will be Penelope’s knight in shining armor and teach Colin how to treat her right. That she needs to be properly courted and romanced before “settling” for Colin. These are the same people who campaigned for Debling and Penelope having sex the SECOND the fake Sun article dropped. There is a fine line between being a Polin fan and a Penelope only fan. You only see Colin as a prize Penelope earns instead of his own person. That’s why as soon as he doesn’t act according to your standards, you start rooting for the other guy. This season is about Penelope AND Colin. I’m tired of his own fans being his biggest haters.

Love this poster!! It feels more in theme with what the season should be. Colin and Pen are more balanced in the composition, there’s some eye contact and a physical connection, the copy of Lady Whistledown front and center.

This would even make a better book cover than the current mirror focused one. As much as I love them playing with the mirror motif and making it a big deal in the show, it’s a bit of false advertising for the book cover while this one focuses more on the couple and Whistledown, like the books do. The show is inspired by the books, but it’s not a faithful enough adaptation to sell it as if it’s the same thing. The tagline “Even a Wallflower Can Bloom” also has little to do with the story someone who buys the book will find inside.

I hope Colin still doesn’t court Penelope btw. I hope he falls so head over heels so quickly and in such an unhinged way that Chaos Colin completely takes over and goes full speed ahead until he’s begging to have his wedding moved up, because everything else is just a waste of his time.

People can have their Penelope courtship fantasy with Debling before Penelope stops pretending and gives in to who she really wants. But I want Colin to stay true to his words, since they already went ahead and changed them from the book. Even the fact that he said “not in YOUR wildest fantasies, Fife.” Colin said nothing about what was going to happen in his own wildest fantasies. So no to courtship, yes to fantasies. Don’t make my boy a liar, show!!!!

Bridgerton Spoilers!!!!

Do you know how much trust Penelope had to have in Colin to nod Yes in that carriage with how nonexistent sex education is in the Featherington household? WTF did she think she was nodding Yes to??? She was really going to let him do anything he wanted, that’s how gone she was.

This is the final count for the show, so it’s officially at #6 on the Netflix most popular chart at 106 million views! It should be a while before S3 is knocked off the list. Hope this means more Bridgerton in the future with an announcement for renewing for seasons 5 & 6.

Polin’s season was so loved! Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan should be proud of the work they did to lead Bridgerton and reintroduce the show to new audiences and fans. They can walk into the beginning of filming for the next season with their heads held high!
