I finally drew Argos for the first time ever. It came out better than I expected :-)

What are your thoughts on Argos' design?

I don’t follow the show so this is the first time I’ve seen his design, but I think it’s…. Ok?

I love the general outfit. It’s very stylish and sleek and it fits my idea of Felix pretty well. But the colors…. Are bleh. This is mostly because I just really don’t like the colors of the peacock in general but I especially don’t like that mint green in the place it is 🤢

If I used the same colors and design, I would have the done the skin and hair green and the inside of the cloak purple instead, something like this:

but I also kinda hate the skin coloration thing instead of a mask in general :T. So if I were to do a complete color and costume redesign I would do something like this:

The purple is cool, but I doesn’t really scream peacock for me. I think that the blue looks really nice, then the accent of bright yellow instead of green. I like the idea of keeping the hair colored (the poofy-ness doesnt really make sense for Felix but shhh) but I really don’t like the no mask and colored skin. So a rather simple bird mask. It might be a bit basic, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing

since you guys liked the design for felix so much I thought Id keep going with it and plug it into a weird au idea I came up with a while back but never settled on a peacock wielder design for

explaination (+sketches) under the cut

so the mayura (peacocks from indian mythology) is often depicted defeating a snake but then (and this is a serious stretch so bear with me) hermes, whos staff features a pair of snakes, slays the titan argus, who is a giant with 100 eyes, the mayura recieved 1000 "eyes" and a "fearkessness from serpents" as a gift for helping Indra. peacocks are associated with luck and prosperity and snakes are a bad omen. You could reshuffle the whole miracle box to center around the peacock and snake "yin yang"-

power and possibly whole miracle box reshuffle pending, but Im horrible at expanding aus by myself past designs so if you have ideas pls help-

I saw my old Peacock Felix's design and it's friccing ugly so I made better one

Of course in the show the design won't be like this (this is complicated af)

The thing with Flairmidable’s costume is — this isn’t Felix’s style, at all. And that’s what makes it so brilliant.

The entire point of this design is to be a credible copy of what Adrien would wear as the Dog holder, and as such, it is much closer to Chat’s suit than it is to Argos’.

Allow me to demonstrate:

✨ Ears! ✨

High collar + Bell combo

Shoulder pads

A geometric motif on the chest, which also elongates the arms

✨ Tail! ✨ It’s a shame you can’t admire it on this render.

The biggest difference between the two costumes is the absence of over-the-knee boots on Chat’s side — but you know who does wear them?

That’s right! Adrien’s miserablesona! The one who conforms to expectations and fake perceptions of his identity.

In other words, Felix (and the character designers, of course, let’s hear a round of applause for them) came up with a costume that is a perfect combination of:

What Adrien would actually wear as the Dog holder;

What Felix thinks his cousin would wear as the Dog holder.

And he slays. And he knows it.

This redesign took me many tries and I finally had to stop looking at the original design and just go fresh. I don’t think the original is necessarily bad I just hate the color palette like why is he pink with lime green hair for no reason. Neither of those colors are even on a peacock. I did kind of like his hood in theory but the animation style of this show has such huge heads that the hoods always look silly to me which is also why I’ve been struggling with carapace. My main inspiration for this was actually the original chat noir design from when he was Felix which is why I gave him longer hair, thigh high boots, and a little belt. I wanted his color palette to be lighter than mayura since she’s evil and he’s more morally grey. I also wanted the jacket to be a little over the top since he is very dramatic. I’m not completely happy with it but I do like it more than the original.
