I think the perfect episode for me now would be if felix had to step in as the black cat holder for whatever contrived reason and plagg’s like “since you’re so good at copying looks, you can just be this dude” and felix is like ok yeah. so he fights with ladybug and the whole time felix is thinking “what the actual fuck marinette you are all OVER this dude?? you are dating my brother/cousin???” and then is even more confused when she starts crying about how she misses chat
so after the fight felix tells adrien “idk I know you were a fan of ladybug but um it kinda seems like she sucks. she’s in love with chat and cat walker wtf” and adrien starts crying happy tears and felix is like these people are UNSTABLE and then returns home to play the most insane teenage hormone fueled game of chess with kagami
i’m not over this. i don’t think i’ll ever be over this
This is so cool and really interesting!
The English name “Catwalker” is nice and it works, but now I prefer/like the more clever original French name “Velvet Paws” due to what @little-mari-on-a-roof said above. I understand why the name would not translate the best for those who are unfamiliar with the saying.
I’m still going to refer to Adrien’s short lived persona as “Cat Walker” because that is how he is more popularly known in the English MLB fandom and the fist name I associate when I think about him.
I want to join the French “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir” fandom too but I don’t understand French well and Google Translate can only get me so far.
Today the french dub for Kuro Neko came out and it turns out that catwalker's original name is Patte de velours, lit. "velvet paw" and I really love it so here's a little explanation of the name :))
In french, the saying "patte de velours" means to retract one's claws (when talking about a cat) or to hide one's true intentions beneath a friendly and kind exterior. Which is pretty much what Adrien does in the episode. His claws are physically less sharp, he refrains himself and he acts all perfect to get ladybug to like the new him.
And just like catwalker, it also hints (but in a way more subtle way) to Adrien's involvement in the fashion industry because of the word "velours"!

I just woke up and I had a mild panic because I realized that Cat Walker's hair being green instead of blond or any more natural color was likely to symbolize that he's hiding his true self with Cat Walker's superhero identity and that his hair was in a long slicked back ponytail to show that his personality is the exact opposite of Cat Noir's with his short and very messy style.
The thing with Flairmidable’s costume is — this isn’t Felix’s style, at all. And that’s what makes it so brilliant.
The entire point of this design is to be a credible copy of what Adrien would wear as the Dog holder, and as such, it is much closer to Chat’s suit than it is to Argos’.
Allow me to demonstrate:

High collar + Bell combo
Shoulder pads
A geometric motif on the chest, which also elongates the arms
✨ Tail! ✨ It’s a shame you can’t admire it on this render.
The biggest difference between the two costumes is the absence of over-the-knee boots on Chat’s side — but you know who does wear them?
That’s right! Adrien’s miserablesona! The one who conforms to expectations and fake perceptions of his identity.
In other words, Felix (and the character designers, of course, let’s hear a round of applause for them) came up with a costume that is a perfect combination of:
What Adrien would actually wear as the Dog holder;
What Felix thinks his cousin would wear as the Dog holder.
And he slays. And he knows it.
