Nobara instantly gravitates towards Yuuji. Perhaps Saori wasn't the only exception in this cruel world (SukuIta Twins)

In My Eyes, Ch1

Read on Ao3

Nobara knows how cruel people can be so when she moves to the city she toughens up. It’s the only way she knows how to protect herself and she wants to last long enough to meet Saori again

On the first day of classes, she makes sure to straighten up and look everyone firmly in the eye, daring them to think that just because she’s from the country she can’t hold her own. She can see some people whisper, the sneers and frowns on their faces as they look her up and down, deciding she’s already not worth their time - really they’re all the same no matter where she goes and she sends them her own sneer in return. The teacher is droning on about how they should make her feel welcome, to be nice classmates, but Nobara doesn’t need any of them. She’s survived alone for so long, she’s sure to be able to continue taking care of herself

She sends them that message, she’s perfected a look to keep people at a distance and she’s sure it will work wonders here. She’s not here to make friends, she’s here to find Saori

But as she makes her way across the classroom, something catches her eye, or rather two someones in the back, twins, one of them, a guy, is sitting in the corner, his expression bored, like he could be doing something else, be anywhere else. She’s sure he hasn’t even glanced to the front and she has a sneaking suspicion he’s not even paying attention to the teacher. He’s got dyed pink hair with multiple piercings on his right ear, she can also see a few tattoos peeking from his clothes and she instantly thinks troublemaker, thug.

But his expression isn’t all that unfriendly. She frowns at the slight contradiction. She’s seen the faces of dangerous men and women and his expression looks more like indifference. She feels like crossing her arms and glaring, what is he even doing here then?

But what really catches Nobara’s eye is the girl next to him. She also has short pink hair and Nobara catches a glint on her right ear, not as many piercings as her counterpart but still more than your typical person. They could be identical and Nobara squints her eyes in suspicion, wondering if maybe the near-identical hairstyle was some sort of dare or some form of brocon. No matter, it’s not her business how others choose to express themselves but the girl is staring straight at her, stars in her eyes, a huge sloppy grin on her face

If the guy hadn’t even given her a glance, then this girl hadn’t taken her eyes off of Nobara since she’d been introduced. Nobara clenches her jaw and stares back at those chestnut, almost red eyes. She feels like she’s suspended in time for a moment and she only blinks when the teacher tells her to sit in the back next to “Itadori Yuuji”. “Itadori Yuuji” raises her hand and waves, as if Nobara hadn’t just been staring at her, as if they hadn’t just been…Nobara’s not really sure but…sharing a moment?

She marches to her new seat, her back still straight and she feels irritated at the giggles that follow her. She dares them to try anything

Yuuji smiles at her and introduces herself and her older twin - but only by a few minutes, he got lucky, it could have easily been her that was the older twin! - Sukuna.

Nobara hears Sukuna scoff but that’s all he does before promptly ignoring the two. Yuuji explains that Sukuna is like that, mostly antisocial. She also tells Nobara of the guy that usually sits in front of Sukuna (but who is absent today), someone named Fushiguro. Nobara doesn’t really care but the way Yuuji talks about him, she understands this Fushiguro is one of her best friends. The teacher calls order and Yuuji whispers, “Let’s have lunch together.”

Nobara wonders if not everyone is as cruel as she believed. Or rather, perhaps Yuuji is another exception.

Oop! I watched JJK and while half asleep this happened. It's an idea I'm working on and I'd like to write it a bit better and into a oneshot but figured I'd drop my thoughts to help clear the clutter. It's kind of Nobara instantly gravitating towards Yuuji, is this maybe a crush why can't I stop looking and caring?! Only for her to get her heart broken because SukuIta. Yes, this is problematic ship content

It's in times like these that she misses Saori the most. She's sure Saori would listen to her woes and give her advice (SukuIta Twins)

In My Eyes, Ch2

Read Chapter 1  |  Ao3

It's the simple things that get to Nobara, like the touching, always the touching. How they'll be sitting together and then Yuuji will start tracing patterns on her hand, she's usually not sure what they are (if they are anything) but a couple of times she's recognized roses. They curl around her fingers, go up her hand, and sometimes tease her wrists. She wishes she'd worn the short-sleeved uniform on those days, to see if the patterns would continue, how high they would go

Or the times when everyone will be sitting together for lunch, even Sukuna joins them sometimes, although Nobara isn't sure what for. More often than not, he'll just be dozing off or, it makes Nobara's blood boil, arguing with Yuuji. She supposes that this is a quality of siblings, of people that are close enough to show each other their ugly sides and sometimes she wonders if that's what makes her angry. That it's only in these moments that she can see a Yuuji with bright red cheeks, her eyes bright with indignation or tears or both, the way her voice can go rougher or high pitched. The way a well-aimed kick will be caught and, she notices, always notices, how lightly Sukuna will hold Yuuji's ankle

It makes her angry that Yuuji will only smile at her

She doesn’t want to hurt Yuuji with callous words like Sukuna does but a part of her, something dark and wretched, wishes that maybe she would. She wonders what kind of expression Yuuji would make, if she’d continue to draw patterns on her skin, if she’d allow Nobara to mark her as well, how far would she let her go? But Nobara is afraid to see those tears, afraid to lose someone else, so she bites her tongue and lets Sukuna do as he pleases because, at the end of it all, it’s Nobara that Yuuji chooses. Nobara has seen the annoyance that will mar Sukuna's expression before he fixes his features into indifference.

She's seen his glances when Yuuji touches her more than usual, their arms touching, their thighs, and sometimes, when Yuuji wants to be extra clingy, Nobara will be able to feel the whole of her body against her, those muscled but thin arms of hers going around her neck, her waist. Sometimes they'll walk arm in arm and she thinks that this is what true happiness is like. There’s no reason for her to want more and yet she yearns, yearns to taste those thin lips, cup that defined jaw, run her fingers across that toned back as their breasts touch. Which kind of sounds would escape Yuuji as Nobara brought her to completion?

It's in times like these that she misses Saori the most. She's sure Saori would listen to her woes and give her advice, laugh with her as she describes Sukuna's attempts at not caring, congratulate her on another win. Fushiguro, she's learned, is a good listener but he always gives her a look when she talks about Itadori. She wants to ask what he's trying to convey, ready to argue and defend her feelings and Yuuji's obvious interest, but every time she's about to, the tiny part of her, the one that always hesitates, the one she usually ignores, implores her to stop, don't dig, you won't like it

It's only in these moments when she listens

Megumi met the Itadori twins when they were children (SukuIta Twins)

In My Eyes, Ch3

Read Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Ao3

Megumi met the Itadori twins when they were children

He'd never met twins before so he'd been fascinated by the two that shared a nearly identical face but that were so different in personality. A personality that has continued to develop in ways he never expected and yet, he can also say they haven't changed at all

The Yuuji of his youth had been full of smiles and curiosity but was also afraid of many things. Things that Sukuna would often torment her with, which meant his easy entry into their bubble. Yuuji had been taller than both Sukuna and him at the time (even though Sukuna vehemently denied this, claiming that as twins they were the same height), which, according to Tsumiki, painted a hilarious picture since Yuuji would often hide behind him when Sukuna would bully her. He recalls often getting into arguments with Sukuna because of his treatment towards Yuuji and one time they'd even fought seriously enough where Grandpa Itadori had to interfere. He remembers Tsumiki scolding him and Yuuji's indecision on who to help out

When they were eight, Megumi and Yuuji shared a kiss, which left him very confused. He knew he liked Yuuji but did that mean he also liked Sukuna? He knew they were different people but they also looked so much alike (even as children, Yuuji and Sukuna shared the same hairstyle), and regardless of the fighting he and Sukuna sometimes got into, Sukuna was also his friend, and if Sukuna had been the one to ask about kissing...Megumi remembers sometimes thinking back to those times as a teen and wondering if he would have agreed to try it out with him instead

After all, Sukuna had his kind side. A side he didn't show often anymore but that was and is still primarily aimed towards Yuuji

When they were in middle school, the Itadori family moved away. He wasn't sure why or to where. They were just there one day and the next, gone. His own family was slowly crumbling as well, which is probably why he quickly moved them out of mind. Tsumiki was sick, his father had disappeared, and his mother...well, she hadn't been in the picture for so long. He had no time to think about friends who didn't think it important to tell him they were leaving

They were finally reunited in high school, but so many things had changed by then.

The first thing he noticed was that Yuuji was no longer the tallest, which he knew would be the case if they ever met again. Instead, she'd become the shortest of the three. She was still tall for a girl, measuring 5'7" (if he believed her) but Sukuna was clearly taller by a few inches, and Megumi, who had been the smallest as children, had finally grown into his father's genes and gained inches off the both of them. He'd seen the stars in Yuuji's eyes as she appraised his height, exclaiming that he was most definitely going to be the lady killer of their year. Yuuji and Sukuna also looked...different. Yuuji had let her hair grow out and wore it in a tail, meanwhile, Sukuna had his trademark unruly but short hair. Yuuji had grown into her curves, which Megumi hadn't been able to ignore, and Sukuna had become broader and fit. They really looked more like the fraternal twins they actually were

He also learned that Grandpa Itadori had passed away that year, which was part of the reason they were finally able to return to the city

Megumi never fancied himself a good person so the relief he felt when hearing this didn't guilt him. Yes, it was sad that Grandpa Itadori had died, but, as he'd heard it, it was naturally his time and he had gained his friends in return. He was glad of that.

It was soon after their reunion that Megumi began to notice the twin's closeness. They hadn't even been in classes for a month when the two came to school with new looks. Many people whispered, finding the pink and short hair on both of them funny, some of them thought it was weird, and a few, not so very quietly voiced their disdain. Sukuna was quick to shut those few up with a single look

The piercings came soon after and Megumi wonders if maybe the tattoos had already been there, or if they were also later additions.

He wondered if perhaps Yuuji had any hidden ink on her skin. Nothing was visible even when she'd wear the summer uniform, but he couldn't help but let his thoughts stray. Sukuna's were primarily hidden and Megumi briefly wondered if anyone aside from him and Yuuji knew the patterns on his skin (and really, the only reason he knew was because Yuuji had pulled up Sukuna's shirt when they had lunch on the roof one day, he'd noticed how she'd run her fingers along some of the marks while talking to him, how they knew their way around without her gaze, the way Sukuna had watched her, a frown on his face but his look intent)

Megumi wonders when it started and if the reason he was able to follow everything was because he was always watching Yuuji, or if it was because he was always watching Sukuna. It seemed like the two were one and the same

The touches were subtle and it helped that Sukuna was publicly indifferent, but Megumi had seen Sukuna while growing up. He knew Sukuna was always aware, always looking, which is probably why Megumi and he always found each other staring. Silently communicating, but Megumi didn't need any warnings. He knew and somehow it made sense

The way Yuuji would always sit next to Sukuna, close enough to touch, and when it wasn't possible, her gaze would constantly look for him. The way Sukuna would place his hand on her back then move it towards her waist slowly, like a caress, right before pushing her away. How their fingers would land on patches of bare skin, her thighs, his stomach, her ankle, his neck. Everything done so quickly that unless you were paying attention, the touches could be missed. The mumbling with that smile and shifting eyes, the conspiratorial smirks. Or how Yuuji would always try to include Sukuna into conversations even though she knew he would just ignore her attempts, unless he was feeling particularly playful. In those moments, Megumi could see the twins of his childhood

But these were all just conjectures to something he didn't dare touch

Oops, I kind of forgot this existed! Sorry about the LONG delay, I still kind of remember where I was going with this (smut, lol!) but after writing this chapter, idk, I’m getting ideas. I think I want to write a chapter in Yuuji’s POV, lmk what you think! On here or on ao3 comments section

reverse bang collab with LonleyWriterOop: 'This look' ends up being her flushed face, made more obvious by her pink hair. Her eyes are a mess, moving between her reflection and Nobara's face, and Yuuji can see how she melts. She looks like - "A begging puppy," Nobara says.

Q. 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒊𝒕? 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝑺𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒊

Yuuji hasn’t always known what she wanted to be when she “grows up” because what did that even mean? When was someone already “grown up”?

Was it when she was in second grade and had to watch her parents get buried, her only support being the wrinkled hand of her grandfather who had stood tall and refused to let any tears shed in front of anyone? When he’d taken her inside the house and explained that his “unreliable son” would no longer be back and that now it was just the two of them. She’d cried when he’d pulled her close and apologized for “my stupid son, he couldn’t even keep his promise, what am I going to do with you at this age?”

Was it when, after waking up for two weeks without breakfast or anyone to greet her, she realized she would have to learn how to cook for herself? She’d wake up earlier than some of the kids in her grade, trying to remember the few bits and pieces her mother had taught her, telling herself that it doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t hurt every time she accidentally cut or burned her fingers.

It doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t hurt, every time she bumped her knees and tiptoed past her grandpa’s room, whispering a “good morning” (pretending his grumpy face also wished her a good day) before nodding and heading out for the day, the rice from the messy onigiri she made thick in her throat as she finally realized what it meant that her parents were gone

Or was it the spring of her first year as a junior high school student when her grandfather took her to get her new uniform and he sighed so deeply she thought she’d lose him right then and there? The uniform draped over her wrists and nearly covered her like a long dress but it only fit semi-loosely around her chest. He’d spent days visiting the neighborhood grannies to learn how to get it adjusted, his face exhausted as he patted her shoulder, Don’t worry about it, that’s what I’m here for.

Yeah, her uniform fit her a bit awkwardly, but (she told herself) so did everyone else's.

She remembers the looks her classmates gave her.

Most of the girls she grew up with only cooed over how she was finally becoming a “real woman!”, but junior high school meant a meshing of the local elementary schools and those girls, the ones who hadn’t known her, looked on with either disinterest or annoyance. The boys, however, were very attentive, especially as they grew into their own desires

When one of the boys asked her out at the start of their third year, Yuuji agrees to date him because that’s what they’re supposed to do. When he kissed her the first time and his hand moved to grope her breasts, she didn't say no. He’d been so giddy, fuck the real thing feels so good, except that it didn’t particularly feel that good. She’d let out a sound from the surprise, a partial wince from how hard he held her, yeah? That feel good?

And when she’d finally agreed to go to his house and he’d pushed her down into his bed, his dick hard and insistent against her leg, his breath heavy in her ear as he begged, my parents won’t be home until later, ok? which she knew because that’s what he’d told her when she called out a greeting and nobody answered her.

Was that when she became a grown-up? When she’d let him pull down her panties?

She hadn’t even been in the house five minutes yet when he’d pulled himself out and pushed into her, her nails biting into his back as she cried out because it actually hurt and it doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t hurt. And the more she allowed, the less she chanted, until eventually, one day, it began to feel how she suspected it should

They dated for the rest of the year. She didn’t particularly like him, but being with him gave her a sense of independence that she hadn’t felt at home in ages. It seemed like more often than not, she and her grandpa were at each other's throats. And it was in those moments when she realized she was more like him than she liked

Or was it when one of their arguments got too heated and they rushed to the hospital and Yuuji learned her grandpa was sick and hadn’t said anything ?

That he’d been overworking himself since her parents died, going to all her school functions, even when he’d have to walk in the snow or sit in the sun for hours to watch her perform. She’d cried into his bed sheets, why are you so stubborn?!

But she loved him and when she once more found herself at the hospital, saying goodbye to the last person in her family, she thought, this is it . This is what it means to be grown-up.

He hadn’t cried or smiled or asked for anything. He’d just talked into the room as if he were talking to himself, “Surround yourself with people. It’s okay to lose your way. But when you die, don’t be like your Grandpa, ok? Die surrounded by people who love you, like your stupid father. I can finally go to him and yell at him for leaving you all alone.”

When they give her her grandpa’s ashes, Yuuji clutches the urn and whispers, “I wasn’t alone you stupid old man.”

◇◇◇

Yuuji decides to go to Tokyo. She’d planned to stay in Sendai because her grandpa was here. She wanted to take care of him, but with his passing, she decides to move. He and her father had come here because it was her mother’s hometown. They believed it would be a better environment to raise a child, more community based and slow paced.

But moving to Tokyo isn’t as easy as just wishing for it. For all the “grown-up” things she’s done and experienced, she’s still only a child in the education system.

Her decision is so last minute that her teacher is reluctant to help her at first, “Not just anyone can go to school in Tokyo, and with your grades, it’s not even worth it.”

It’s only when she’s practically begging that he finally relents. She hates that he plans to use her grandpa’s passing as her “excuse” for signing up so late, but if it’s the only way to get her to Tokyo, she’ll take it. She asks him to keep it a secret from the class and his annoyed grunt is his only response.

She barely makes the signup deadline for the Tokyo high school exams and has even less time to study, but somehow, she gets accepted into two schools. One of them is blunt. They’re not impressed with her grades or her scores, but in her athletic abilities. They offer her a sports scholarship and the only academic requirement they have is that Yuuji must pass all of her classes. They don’t care if it’s with high or low marks. Since it’s closer to where her grandpa grew up, she accepts

She isn’t even sure what she’s expecting to find but when she places her grandpa’s urn in her new home, she smiles. It somehow feels right.

“I think I’m finally all grown up,” she whispers.

Q. 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒎𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏?

Yuji realizes that in some ways, high school is no different from middle school. She thinks that part of the reason she didn’t feel uncomfortable during the last three years in Sendai is because everyone already knew her. But in Tokyo, they don’t and she quickly picks up on how “different” she is. It’s a completely new type of uncomfortable

Are you sure you don’t have foreign blood? Some of her classmates like to ask and she explains that no, she doesn’t. “I take after my mother’s side of the family,” she tells them, though this is only a guess. The only extended family she’s met is her grandpa and he’s always been shorter
