Ben Tyler Cook - Tumblr Posts

I don’t know what to do with this information. A kid in my grade who is an a$$hole and used to bully me looks exactly like Ben Tyler Cook. The problem is I find BTC attractive, but I could never in a million years find the guy in my grade attractive and it’s messing with me. Like anytime I look at a picture of BTC I think he’s so pretty but then I remember the kid and it feels like I’m calling him pretty and I just don’t like that. If the kid wasn’t such an a$$hole I wouldn’t feel weird calling Ben Tyler Cook attractive.

Don’t flame me for this but I prefer the broadway version of newsies over the movie by a landslide. I didn’t even know that there was a movie until last year and I didn’t watch it until January of this year. I’m honestly surprised that I didn’t know about it because I “grew up” with newsies, but that was the broadway version and my mom has said she didn’t really love the movie.

That being said I do love the movie and all the characters but the broadway version just holds a special place in my heart. I will always be talking about the broadway version when I talk about newsies.

I was looking up what movies Ben Cook is in and I wasn’t looking at the dates, until I saw this

I was really confused as to why it says he was born in 1985 while also born in 1997. I was also confused as to why he’s known for movies that would’ve made him one during filming. Then I looked at the dates of the movies “he’s been in”

Two of these are before he was born, or he would’ve been one or two, so I looked at the cast list and apparently there’s another Ben Cook, but for some reason they’re crediting Ben Tyler Cook for them.

This isn’t as funny as I thought it was but it made me giggle that Ben Tyler Cook is getting credited for movies that was made before he was born and didn’t play in.

My best friend and I just watched “Happiness for Beginners” and we loved it but that’s not the point.

The point is that a guy in our grade is a literal clone of Ben Cook and we kept freaking out because his side profile when he’s looking up is literally him. Also Beckett’s personality is the same as the kid’s personality, it was like watching a grown up version of the guy lead a hiking group.

Ben Cook I think you have a long lost kid brother or cousin. Or a young clone.

In my opinion “Race” seems like a perfectly normal name. Like if I met someone in real life and they told me their name was “Race” I wouldn’t think twice about it. Now if someone told me their name was “Racetrack” i would think twice about it.

If I actually wanted kids, I know I would be the type of mom who names her kids wild shit, and I would 100% name my son Race, I fw it.

There’s worse “R” names on official baby name sites, Race really isn’t that weird.

I’ve realized that no one really sees my stuff if it’s not newsies and part of me wants to tag newsies on all my posts, like I do with what I’m “known for” on my other socials, but I’ve realized it’s weird to tag newsies if it has nothing to do with newsies. :)

What I love about “King of New York” is that they all just got beat up (that morning? Idk), Les’ arm is literally in a sling, their makeup shows that they are all bruised and what not, they are just down in the dumps. But when Kathrine comes in with the newspaper, Race’s first thought is “Lets Tap Dance!!!”

Their moods changed so fast, rightly so, just hilarious.

I love listening to King of New York (Full song with Dance Break) because I love picking out the random things they say during it.

So far I’ve picked out:

Davey: “Alight Ike!”

Race: “Show us what you got!”

Spot (I’m like 99% sure it’s Tommy’s voice): “Like she’s important huh?”

Katherine: “Come on!” And “Come on boys!”

Random newsie: “OH HENRY!”

Random newsie: “Alright Specs!”

There’s other phrases that I can’t pinpoint and the obvious hollering during it. Also the idea that they had to be in the recording booth hollering at nothing is hilarious.

I just realized that I haven’t posted newsies in a while. So here’s some ships I like/dislike;

Like:

Jatherine ✨ (they are my #1, I ❤️ them)

Sprace (I need more fics of them, I read them all 😭)

Finch x Jojo (I got this from a Sprace fic and have been obsessed with them ever since)

Jack x Crutchie (does anyone else like them? I don’t see people post them on here a lot)

Albert x Elmer (I don’t actually have a reason for them)

I’m sure there’s others I just can’t think of rn

Dislike:

Javey (I’m sorry, don’t hurt me 😭 I have my reasons but there’s too many to put here)

Jack x Sarah (these two make me ship Javey… I don’t like them)

Ralbert (I just don’t see it)

Jack x Spot (I see them having a brotherly relationship, also didn’t realize a lot of people ship this)

Sarah x Katherine (my brain can’t get past the fact they are essentially the same person)

If you like the ships I don’t, great, keep liking them, you just won’t change my mind on them. If you don’t like the ones I do, same thing, I don’t care, I’m going to keep liking them.

I’ve seen way to many people get mad at people for liking or not liking a certain ship in the other fandoms I’m in, idk how the newsies fandom is, so I put the ending to be safe. People are weirdly rude about this stuff.

Newsies AU

The first half of Carrying the Banner ends as Pulitzer’s office screen drops over the black street stairways and several of the newsies once on them disappear behind the drapes. Including but not limited to Racetrack. AU where instead of gracefully going down the stairs and off stage, Ben Cook, the actor who plays Racetrack, accidentally falls down the stairs echoing several loud thumps and as the bangs came to an end a quiet, but not unheard, small mutter of “damnit”
