You know for the 'bone of Ortet' thing?) But yeah so titans clearly mean something to the collector Why else would he encourage a cult dedicated to finding the last one Maybe titans give them power (maybe to vamoose out of the demon realm? Maybe they're trapped there?) But what if humans can do that (or something similar) too Else why not just use some random witch? Maybe something about witches make them incompatible - or unfit Maybe cause humans don't have their own magic?
