Black Indigenous People Of Colour - Tumblr Posts

All right y'all. Here's another tidbit:

"POC" means Person of Color.

If you're referring to a specific noun- person, artist, writer, actor, teacher, etc.-

It is _NOUN_ of color! Artist of color, writer of color, teacher of color.

Please stop saying "poc character, poc artist" (person of color character person of color artist). While I recognize that if you chose to follow me, you likely had no mal-intent, it comes off in a very... Distancing way. "How can you claim to care about me and you don't even know what you're saying" way. If you know someone's race or ethnicity, feel free to say that! Black artist, Filipino writer, Indian character, etc. It's okay to be specific! Our goal is intent, and part of being intentional is knowing what we're saying when we're saying it. 👍🏾

; happy Juneteenth to all the lovely Black people of Tumblr who may be viewing this !!

; bigger sized text = happy Juneteenth to all the lovely Black people of Tumblr who may be viewing this !! ( Juneteenth is a link. )

; I wanted to make this post, even if it's not the longest post in the world, because as much as I forget important dates like these, I remembered this by some posts appearing on my fyp and I felt it was only right to make even just a short post. Black people and Indigenous people have faced and continue to face horrific things, and they still stand strong and continue fighting for their rights and the safety and rights of others around them. We owe a lot to Black people, not only countless inventions but also kind and welcoming communities. And since I know a lot of my following is queer: we owe Pride and we owe so much revolving around queer history and our rights, etc, to ( mainly trans ) BIPOC, especially to the women. They've fought for us and continue to every single day.

; their culture is also absolutely stunning, in every aspect. The music, the food, the clothes, the hair, etc. It's all gorgeous and truly just amazing. Not to mention the people, honestly all stunning and powerful individuals who forever have my love and support. And maybe I'm not the best at doing so but I'll be trying my hardest to ease the burden of everything off BIPOC, they deserve it, they deserve so much and we owe them so much.

; I don't know 100% about this celebration ( holiday ? What would it classify as / what would y'all prefer I call it !! /genq ) but I'm learning more about it !! And to any BIPOC who may be reading this, you're loved and you're amazing and you deserve everything. Take care of yourself and don't let anyone bring you down because of who you are. I wish you a lovely day and a happy Juneteenth !!

On June 19th, 1865, two years later, the news finally reached Galveston, TX.

Juneteenth marks the day those enslaved Texans had finally learned of their freedom.

Today, we remember and honor this historic moment by continuing to educate ourselves and fight for racial equality. " Below this there is the hashtag #JUNETEENTH :image description end
