I'm going to try to post more stuff this year since I tend to only post my big drawings. With that being said, here are some Sonic gijinkas I drew after making my friends give me Sonic characters!
Okay, I don’t know any facts behind this song but does anyone else get the vibe that We Save by Ray Toro is about being a poc in Amercia and raising kids that are also poc??

Did Urbance Fail to Deliver on its promises?
What is one to do in a world where sex is outlawed and the genders are separated from each other? That is the driving question of Urbance, a Kickstarter animated pilot that unfortunately never took off.
There's a fatal STD called E1 that originally only transferred through hetero sex before it mutated to also affect homo sex. Don't look at me sideways if that description sounds a little silly. That's literally how the narration puts it.
A premise like this leads to tons of questions. Does E1 only activate when ejaculation happens or is it the act of sex itself? What's stopping the characters from wearing condoms? Its also not explained why the division between sexes still exists when E1 takes effect in both hetero and homo sex.
The characters rebel against this ban by going to secret nightclubs where their state-mandated trackers are disabled and take a drug known as Ndorphin which can artificially simulate sex. Some people still hunger for real sex even at the cost of their lives. It doesn't take long for the Mediators to crackdown on the party and then all hell breaks loose.
Urbance's greatest feature is its visuals. The scenery is absolutely stunning with its vivid neon details and graffiti aesthetics that harken back to Jet Set Radio and Motorcity. In fact, Hideki Naganuma is a fan of the Urbance Facebook page. The pilot also does a good job of making its hip-hop influences readily known. Steambot, the animation producer of Urbance, even got anime studio Yapiko to help its production. The cast is dominated by black people; most of whom are wearing hip-hop-styled clothing. It's an interesting example of black people being center stage in scifi animation when they hardly get represented in that genre at all. The only downside is that all of the voice actors were white even though casting POC actors should be the absolute bare minimum for diverse media.
With a successful Kickstarter and a highly acclaimed pilot, Urbance seemed destined for greatness. So what happened? Nothing. That's what happened. The creators let this IP remain dormant despite the promise of not only a full episode but also a complete series to go along with it. The only official products to be produced were an artbook that went out of print years ago and a mediocre card game on steam that plays like an old Newgrounds web browser. Who even asked for a card game? The gameplay seen in the official footage was uninspired and doesn't seem to continue the conflict in the pilot.
This problem is unfortunately common with Kickstarter campaigns. Kickstarter doesn't enforce its content creators to make good on their promises so nothing is stopping these people from running off with donations. It is honestly scrummy that creators would just build up people's hype for Urbance and refuse to deliver on it. Not helping matters is how the official steambot and urbance website got shut down with no explanation. This kind of behavior is so unprofessional and should not be tolerated.
Before we end off, let's address the criticism this show, I mean, pilot faced and the current status of Urbance. A small but vocal minority of people have alleged that Urbance is racist and LGBT phobic with very little evidence to back up their claims. I see no way how on earth this show could be perceived as racist unless you think urban street life is "problematic", which in itself is a racist mentality to have. The LGBT phobic claim arose from how the premise completely ignores how gay individuals and nonbinary people are affected by the gender divide. While it is true that this is a narrative that SHOULD discuss how LGBT members are harmed by the sex ban, it's kinda hard to address those themes with a seven-minute pilot. People acted as if it was a finished product.
Another misconception is that Urbance is an example of a persecution flip where straight people are the oppressed ones and homosexuality is the norm. Some have also called the story an allegory to the HIV/aids panic which spread mass fear concerning gay people. I think people are looking at things the wrong way and trying to make it seem like straight people are co-opting the struggles LGBT members face and making it about them. Heterosexuality isn't taboo in urbance nor do straight people face any discrimination. Sex itself is what's banned and this ban also applies to gay people. I also don't know where this being gay is the norm claim came from because separating the sexes wouldn't just magically turn people gay. Did people even watch the first minute of the pilot?
With all that said, Urbance is a story that would benefit greatly from exploring LGBT themes. What was the attitude concerning gay people before/directly after E1 mutated and how do people who don't fall into the gender binary cope with the ban? I'm especially interested in how intersex people are treated in the Urbance world. It's interesting to note that Kenz refers to himself as an ace, a slang term for asexuals. I'm not sure if the producers were aware of this because Kenz quickly shows attraction to a girl in the club.
As of January 2022, Urbance shows all signs of being a canceled project. The years of radio silence are a grim reminder of the fate of far too many crowdfunded projects. Whatever sliver of hope Urbance has comes from one of its creators, Joel Dos Reis Viegas. His most recent Instagram posts depict comic-style images of urbance. When asked by a fan about the status of the show, he replied that there were legal issues and a comic will be made to start things fresh.
Two takeaways from this: The producers should've discussed the legal issues YEARS ago instead of giving fans false hope. We have to deal with radio silence for years on end but apparently, the legal issues didn't stop them from making a thrashy card game. Second of all, I can't stay hopeful that Urbance can revive as a comic at this point. It's clear that the production team isn't good at commitment and following through with promises. The comic is still clearly in the planning stages, making the future of Urbance as for away as it ever was.

stop whitewashing cordelia.
actually i have been thinking about this since last night so i need to post. this is the latest official art that was commissioned and shared by CC. and cordelia does NOT look like a woman of colour.
THEIR SKIN TONES ARE LIKE BARELY ONE SHADE APART. i am SO mad that there are STILL whitewashed artworks being shared by CC. especially with cordelia, where there is a history of whitewashed artworks, as you can see.
now compare all these with these two art pieces and tell me they're all the same person.
let me illustrate further. in the cordelia and james art, at least a contrast can be seen between the colours of their skin. in the matthew and cordelia art, their skin tones look the same.
and i'm not much of an artist, but i do know with certainty that it's not because of the "lighting" or whatever.
cordelia is simply whitewashed in this art piece and we need to call it what it is. and this is not ok.

𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐬
We were in Yoongi's bed. Me on top of him.
Yoongi was gentle and careful with his hand as he rested it on the back of my neck. I swallowed the lump in my throat. Direct eye contact is challenging. He could read me so clearly. That's what I hate most about him. And I couldn't read him. He carried the weight of so many secrets. He laughed.
"Relax." He said.
"How can I, when you're this close?"
He clicked his tongue. His forehead was against mine. I could smell aftershave and cigarettes.
"Should I put space between us?" he whispered.
Having just drawn his lips into a half smile, he was about to pull away. As I gripped his shirt, he stayed close to me. The only other human-to-human contact I ever had was with my mother and little sister. So this was something different. This was something I wanted more of from the man living across from us in apartment 42B.
"No," I whispered back. "This is fine. You're fine."
Yoongi's eyes searched inside me. Could he see the small boy behind my eyes staring back at him?
"Everything," he said. "I want to know everything about you."
And my heart beats wildly in my chest at his words. I barely stepped foot into adulthood and there is a man interested in me. In me. My eyes searched his eyes for the truth. A glint of truth was hidden in his black irises. Yoongi's thumb rubs the back of my neck in a soothing circular motion.
"I'm nothing special, Yoongi."
"You are to me," he continued. "Let me in, let me see what you don't show others."
My body buzzes. The vibrations of his voice shook me to the core. Let me see what you don't show others. I breathe deeply. That meant showing him the Demetrius I hid from my mother, grandparents, school kids, and my dad. Yoongi waits for me to say something. I liked how he stared at me like I was meant for him. Maybe I was. Maybe I really was. But could I let him in without pushing him away once things got too real? I saw how my parents loved each other, how the love died, then sparked back to life only to die again, Their love never alive again. It was the end of them. The end of me.
"God, you sound cheesy." I laughed. "Cheesy in a good way."
Yoongi chuckled, his whole body shaking. "Wow, okay." His eyes drop to my lips. "Can I?"
"Can you what?"
"Kiss you?" Yoongi's eyes return to mine.
"I, uh...I never kissed anyone before."
I didn't want to mention how I was kissed by my second cousin before I even knew she was my cousin. So I never counted her as my first kiss or as kissing anyone.
"Just do what feels natural. We can stop anytime you feel uncomfortable-"
I kissed Yoongi. I kissed him. My lips moved against his. I'm clumsy and sloppy, but he didn't seem to mind. His lips were soft and warm, and I felt a wave of warmth wash over me. I didn't want this to end. Yoongi, he's the perfect kisser. He kisses me with care but with a sense of urgency like he needed to enjoy our kiss before I changed my mind before things got too good. But I wasn't going to change my mind. His mouth tasted of whiskey and it's strange how I felt like I was in heaven Just from his kiss. Do you feel the same, Yoongi? My fingers tangled in his black hair. His hands found their way to my waist. The rhythm. The sound of us kissing is like music to our ears. Our heartbeat syncing as one.
Yoongi needs to breathe. He pulled away smiling, squeezing my waist. He stared up at me and a sliver of sunlight caught his dark brown eyes, melting them into honey. I felt my heart skip a beat. He leaned forward, his lips brushing against mine lightly. His breath was warm and inviting.
"That was something, wasn't it?" he said, out of breath.
I nodded trying to catch my own. Now that I've kissed him, I want more. And Yoongi could clearly see that.
"Before we kiss again. Tell me something."
"Like?"
He shrugged. "Like anything."
So I thought, and I thought and I told him about my mother and the fight we had last night. Because her shitty boyfriend was a no-good thug. I knew why he only came around and that was to have sex with my mother. He doesn't pay my little sister any mind, and he treats her like she isn't his. My mother forces him to buy her clothes and food, but he says that's my job as a man because I was her older brother.
Now I felt like I killed the mood with Yoongi talking about my home life, but when he said, "He's a dick. You shouldn't have to step in and play her father. She's your sister, not your daughter."
And Yoongi was right.
"I know. But what can I do? I'm her older brother, so it's my job to look after her. I take care of her more than my mother does. So I'm like both mother and father to her."
"And I'm sure your lil sis appreciates everything you do for her, Demetrius. I'm an only child, so I can't relate to having someone to look after. But I know the responsibility is a lot and you manage it so damn well, love."
"I do the best I can."
"That's all you can do. As long as you know you're doing your best, that'll keep you going."
I tear up and say, "Some days I don't feel like I should keep going. I just want to give up."
"And that's okay. You are human, you are still young and can only take on so much."
This was the first time I had been so open with anyone. To be able to speak freely without being interrupted and validated.
And like before, I kissed him. This time I took it slow. I felt him smile against my lips. It felt magical kissing him. Soon every bit of him would become me. I would inherit his mannerisms. Eventually, I would pick up on any lingo he uses, blending it into my speech. I'll wear his oversized T-shirt when I spend the night. He'll make room on his bathroom counter for my things and even give me a toothbrush next to his. I'm thinking ahead. Too far ahead to see us at the altar saying our vows. Oh, Demetrius, you're just a foolish kid head over heels in love with the man from apartment 42B.
Author's note: This was an intro to a yoongi fanfic i was going to write on wattpad but never went through with it. so I turned it into a one-shot. If anyone is interested in their story I don't mind writing their story here on Tumblr.
Yes, this! 🥺 I'm not even tall but would love to see kpop idol x tall fem reader. Especially short idol x tall reader. There's a lot of Kpop idol x fem reader things I would love to see done for black readers in general. I'm more a soft love, angst kind of gal so what I write reflects most of the time lol.
Sounds weird but I really wish there were more portrayals of yn/the reader that are more vague. Don't get me wrong I love Tumblr writing and the way most writers write the mc of their stories but it gets under my skin when they visually describe the Mc/reader/yn to be shorter, skinny, pale, straight hair, etc. I am none of the above and I know there are a lot of readers that struggle with the “yn 🥺 effect”.
What I'm trying to say is that I wish there was more diversity, especially with height and weight- not everyone is so skinny (blank) can throw you over their shoulder with just one hand and there are fangirls who are tall like me (I'm 5’11/180cm) that bias members that are shorter. For this reason exactly I never specify the weight, height, skin colour or hair texture of the reader because I know damn well no one's fingers will smoothly glide through my afro or that my heavy ass braids will sway in the wind like a horse’s pony or whatever metaphor you wanna us, I need more enhypen x tall fem!reader😭😭
