Abused mentally when young by his father as you can see in his memory in season three
Abused physically by his father, the one he was supposed to look up to but never could. Because in his memory when billy ran away from his father he said “Yea, run away like you always does” I know that’s not the exact same as he said, but I couldn’t remember it
So Billy Hargrove needs someone there that can understand him, someone that knows what it’s like going through that stuff. Someone that can show him real love and caring
Fixing a broken and abused boy is never easy, you can’t just come into their lives and expect everything to fix right away. You need to be patient
Billy did not deserve to die, if only Joyce had closed the portal a few seconds sooner
