To all the people complaining about Peter right now...
Never thought my 1st post would be a rant but here we go lol.
So Peter just finished his 3rd Gig in Germany.
I went to see him two times and both gigs were beautiful and as someone that saw him multiple times since 2005, I can really say that he is on top form and the Setlist was amazing, he even played I get along in Düsseldorf and East of eden!
Still many people and most of the media are trashing him so I feel like I have to say a few things.
Here we go:
First of all, If you buy Tickets for Peter Doherty, you will see Peter Doherty. If you buy Tickets for Babyshambles, you will see Peter Doherty with his Band. If you buy Tickets for The Libertines, you will see Peter Doherty with his band.
If you decide to buy Tickets for Peter Doherty’s Solo Acoustic Tour, chances are very high that you will see ... play Peter Doherty Acoustic. So why are so many people out there complaining that the Gig was boring because it was „just Peter and his Guitar“? Well, because you decided to buy Tickets for Peter Doherty Acoustic. Why are some people complaining that they only knew „3 Songs?“ Well, why are you buying Tickets to see him if you only know 3 of his Songs? I even heard people in the crowd wondering why Carl wasn’t there. Well, why should Carl be there? At Peters Solo Gig?
Also there are people out there complaining that Peter „changed so much and used to be more fun when he was high or at least drunk!“
Well…guess what? That was because well…back then he was on drugs and now he is not :)
Over the last few years he got clean after a decade on heroin so of course he changed? He also got older and its not 2005 anymore. And I’d rather see him play when he’s clean and doesn’t drink alcohol (he didn’t drink in cologne and Düsseldorf) as when he’s high as a kite and „fun“. People change when they get clean. I witnessed the same thing with Brian Molko from Placebo. When he got clean people constantly started complaining that he „used to be so much more fun“ at Gigs when he actually made a complete fool out of himself most times when he was high.
Getting clean and staying clean is such hard work for anyone struggling with addiction. We should encourage our favorite artist (and anyone) instead of complaining that he was „so much more fun“ when he was ruining his life and his health with drugs. I don't know why I am writing this. I'm just so disapointed with some "fans". Instead of being glad that he is clean and healthy all that they do is complain and drag him down. I think after all of these years he deserves some recognition for both being a great Artist and for getting clean.

I feel sad now about Carl and his apparent hearthache at The Sun article. It’s his birthday today and I know I won’t see him again for a while. He whirls himself away somewhere into his mind, away from me and the hateful hurtful worlds he can imagine. I love him and I wish I could tell him so, and wish him to believe it to be so.
