Okay I need people to see what I see!! You know pacific rim, right? And you have raleigh and chuck, right???? AND THEY ARE LIKE HANGSTER RIGJT???? No but this has been in my head since months!!! Raleigh is like a big puppy with a rough past and gets back into the jaeger program bc the world needs him and then arriving at the Hong Kong shatterdome he meets arrogant jaeger pilot chuck who doesn’t believe raleigh is needed and is doing his absolute best to piss raleigh off but! they reach an understanding and go save the world together!! (I am NOT talking about the end of the movie nope)
Like that’s sooooo hangster???? Or like hangster is sooo chaleigh??? You have both the main character with a torturous past with big soulful eyes and the one who the mission counts on and then you have the cocky but actually really good pilot who thinks he is enough for the mission and then gets angry when someone else is introduced and absolutely keeps on messing with the main character but they need each other to actually complete the mission and save the world (or destroy the main target)!!!

Where person B has ‘Fuck you!’ As their soulmark and their entire life they’ve been made fun of for it so when they walk into someone while texting and the person says ‘Fuck you!’ B just says, ’ OH! SO YOU’RE THE MOTHERFUCKER WHO GAVE ME THE WORST FUCKING SOULMARK EVER! WELL GUESS WHAT I WILL NEVER LET THIS GO THERE IS NOTHING WORSE THAN HAVING THE WORDS “Fuck you!” PERMINATLY MARKED ON YOUR SKIN!’ And A just looks at them and says ‘Well imagine having that fucking essay written on you in caps-lock…’

my biggest problematic trait is that i fell for the "shipping the two white guys" issue in pacific rim but i didn't even pick the popular ones. i picked the jocks.
Re-reading all my old favorite Pacific Rim fanfics because I was in a Mood™ after rewatching the film
... and there’s one I vaguely remember but can’t find now. It was actually a SoA crossover; Raleigh and Jax are twins but Gemma leaves quite the horrible impression (yeah, yeah. shocker) on one nurse who just delivered a stillborn to the Beckets. So she swipes one twin and gives him to a grieving Dominique Becket then goes back to tell Gemma one of her babies died. I literally can’t remember anymore, google is no help, so does this sound familiar to anyone else??
