What their drunk confessions would be like(Pt1)

A/N: Yay my first writinggggg! I’m thinking of making this into a series, with all my fave characters. Hope you like it!

Lan Xichen:

It was an accident; he didn’t purposefully get drunk like some of the others

It was after a hard week as sect leader, what with Wangji acting like a teenager and the constant harping of his uncle, he decided that he’d had enough

So, he decided to have a one drink, but one turned into two, which turned into three, until even with the strength of his golden core, he couldn’t filter it all

Then you came into his room

Now he’d known you for quite some time, with you being an inner disciple of the Lan sect

You’d come to bring him random news of comings and goings around Gusu

He had harboured more than friendly feelings for you for a while now

And so did you

But you never made a move since, you know, he was your sect leader and all

And he’d never made a move because he was in turns too shy and too afraid you only saw him as your sect leader

But now, in his drunk state, he could feel all the emotion rising up within him

You could see that he was drunk by the redness of his cheeks, but you said nothing because he was your sect leader

So you decided to just tell him the news and then leave

But as you turned to leave he asked you if you wanted a drink

And as we all know alcohol is prohibited in cloud recesses

But you said yes anyways

So he poured you a drink and you drank with him

When you put your cup down, you saw him staring intently at you, cheeks very red

“Y/N…” He whispered gently leaning towards you gently

As if to kiss you

But you knew better (or you though you did)

So you leaned away

After all, he was drunk, and taking advantage of that would be very un-Lan of you

So you got up to leave

But he got up too

“Y/N… There is something I have to tell you…”

He stood right in front of you and reached out to grasp your hands

“For a long time, I’ve been enamored by your presence. You are so kind and beautiful, and I have found myself to have fallen for you. It would make me very happy if you… reciprocated my feelings…” He whispered softly, looking deeply into your eyes

And for a moment, you wanted too to spill your heart out to him as well

But then you remembered that he was drunk

And the illusion shattered around you

You took your hands out of his grasp, failing to notice the look of heartbreak on his face at your actions

“Sect leader, you are drunk, you do not know what you are saying. You must rest well tonight. Sleep well”

You bowed gently and exited

Such a moment was too good to be true, you knew, but you would cherish it forever

Or so you thought

But back in the sect leader’s quarters, Lan Xichen was on the verge of tears

In his drunken state, he believed he’d just been rejected, and his heart was heavy with sadness

But he headed your words and lay in bed, sadness lulling him to sleep

The next morning, he still remembered what had happened

Such was the curse of Lan Xichen

Needless to say, he was very embarrassed (Not to mention heart broken)

He immediately went to apologize to you

“S-sect leader… Is there something I can help you with?”

“I have come to apologize for last night. I am sorry if I put you in an uncomfortable position. Such was never my intention” He said with a polite bow

“Its alright. We all say things we don’t mean when drunk”

Things he didn’t mean?

 But he’d meant it all…

He’d already gotten this far, so he decided to go all the way

“I meant what I said.”

He had to set the record straight, or he wouldn’t sleep well

“E-everything? Even the stuff about l-love? And me?”

You couldn’t believe your ears

But there he was, the perfect, kind, gentle sect leader of lan was standing before you, looking embarrassed, confessing his feelings to you

Again

“Yes. I understand if you don’t feel the same way, but I needed to clear up the events of last night. I will stop bothering you now.” He said with one of his signature gentle smiles

But it was twinged with sadness

“Wait”

He turned around with something unmistakably similar to hope written on his face

“I-I feel the same. I just thought, because you were drunk… I dint want to take advantage of you. But if that is how you actually feel, um, I do too.”

You looked up at him, face feeling very hot, and palms very sweaty

But when you saw the look of pure happiness on his face, you knew that you’d done the right thing

Thank you for reading!

What their drunk confessions would be like(PT2)

A/N: Second part! Hope you like!

Jiang Cheng:

Unlike Lan Xichen, Jiang Cheng would be drunk on purpose.

Knowing this grumpy sect leader, it would just be because he’d had an exceptionally hard day

Jin Ling had thrown a fit, the sect was hard to lead and he was generally in a bad mood

As always

When Jiang Cheng got drunk, he would either become even angrier or kinda sad

Today he was the latter

He started reminiscing on times he’d spent surrounded by his loved ones, by Wei Wuxian and Jiang Yanli, with his parents

And then he thought of how twisted and old he’d become, so weighed down by pain

Deep down through all that sadness, he really just wanted to feel loved again

And then there was you

He’d met you in cloud recesses when they’d gone for lectures

You were one of the top disciples of the C/N clan

He’d admired you from afar as you’d become great friends with his sister

You’d eaten dinner with them, and spent most of your time at the lectures with Yanli

She would always say that you were like a sister to her

So it would only make sense that you stuck with her through sunshot campaign

And her marriage

And her death

She made you Jin Ling’s godmother

Which meant that you stuck with Jiang Cheng when he took Jin Ling to Lotus Pier

He tried to make you leave many times, since you were a sore reminder of his sister

But you knew he needed you

I mean, this is Jiang Cheng

How is he gonna raise a kid on his own?

And so over the years you’d grown a bond

And he’d fallen in love with you

After all, you were the only one still by his side

The only one who showed care to him

He needed to talk to you, he decided

So he left his office to find you

He asked many servants where you were before finally finding you

You were exiting Jin Ling’s quarters after having put him to bed

Jiang Cheng bumped right into you as you were gently trying to close the door, causing you to slam it

You whirled around in surprise and was about to scold him, until you saw the tears on his cheeks

You were about to ask him what was wrong, but before you could say anything he had you pinned against the wall

And his lips where on yours, sloppily kissing you

You could taste the liquor on this breath, but you were to caught in the kiss to really notice

He broke away first

“Y/N…” he whispered, leaning down to wrap his arms around you, in a sort of hug

But because he was so tall, he kinda crushed you against the wall

It was uncomfortable, but you hugged him back

“A-Cheng,” You whispered, confused and slightly worried

Clan Leader Jiang was not known to cry very often, if at all, so your worry was justified

“Are you alright?”

“Y/N,” He said, so low you barely heard it, from right next to him

“I l-love y-you…”

And then he passed out

Leaving you to carry him to his room

It took you forever, but you finally got him in the bed, and tucked him in

And then you sat next to him, to process this new information

He loved you?

Could it be possible? You’d always felt like you were closer than just friends, but you’d always thought the feeling was one sided

And maybe it was just the alcohol talking

You decided to wait until tomorrow, and if he remembered, then you would confront him about it

The next morning you got up early to check up on him

You knew how wicked hangovers could be, so you made him tea and brought it to his office

And just as you supposed, he had a terrible headache and was in an exceptionally bad mood

But as soon as he saw you, he went silent, sparing the disciple he’d angrily been shouting at

You dismissed said disciple as you put the tea on his desk

Then you chanced to look at him

His face was very red as he avoided your gaze

He clearly remembered

Which was good, because so did you

“A-Cheng, we need to talk”

His head snapped up to look at you

He looked afraid, and very embarrassed

He looked away

“What you told me yesterday. Did you mean it?”

He looked back at you annoyingly

“I dont know what you are talking about. I was drunk.”

For all the years you’d know him, Jiang Cheng had never been a good liar

“A-Cheng… Did you mean it? Please I really must know.”

You sounded more desperate than you wanted too, but you just wanted to know

“yes…”

It was no more than a whisper, but it was all you needed

You closed the distance between you and kissed him passionately on the lips

He was surprised at first, but quickly reciprocated, kissing you back with as much passion as last night

When you pulled apart, you couldn’t help but laugh at him, face as red as a tomato and looking as shocked as you’d ever seen him look

Thank you for reading!
