this is really old but since you asked... ignoring the fact that he's a background and cardboard character in a show to sell toys... You're right about him he really doesn't have a reason to forgive and forget the gundalians- specially not so easily however let's pretend he is more of a practical man or for the greater good... so ignoring the elephant in the room being the clear trauma he might have (with that including that the rating of the show wouldn't allow-) (- an aftermath of torture and interrogation) maybe he's more of the autodesteuctive type of man who prefers to ignore as much as he can... specially having a clock in the back reminding him that if they lose everything that happened to him would repeat itself... if not worse so... maybe he would have prefered being the 'good soldier' and suck everything up because it's the last resource... but of course: we know how the negation would end tldr: alien veteran has a complicated relationship with their new allies and with the healing process on the other hand I don't remember much from the episodes but: Wouldn't it make sense that he was not much in the front after he returned- -because he failed what I assume would exist: a mandatory psychiatric evaluation after his return -and before the episode where the brawlers restore the second shield again? because that would make sense too and explain the vague- -and really insignificant dialogues he has (Also remembering here his distaste to Airzel) 'Congratulations!
