Honestly I love the cryptidcore aesthetic but as someone who's always wanted to be a cryptozoologist, I wish the whole thing wasn't just people who wanted to BE cryptids. What if I wanted to be a paranoid researcher in a trench coat who swears they saw aliens?
Especially if you have cryptid friends.. cryptids you will always have a place on my red string corkboard......
i think a lot of cryptidcore fashion certainly fits into that description, but a lot of the textposts/moodboards seem to mostly be "i want to run into the woods and become mothman" — and don't get me wrong, that's a great vibe. but since cryptid academia was based on old school ufo/cryptid journalists from the 50's (and some modern ghost hunters) it might be a better fit for what op is looking for!
