Dadgiri Headcanon:

Way back when Kurogiri was first given the role of Tomura’s caregiver, there was an incident that heavily upset Tomura to the point where he shut himself in his room and felt too sick to eat.

Kurogiri, having never taken care of a child before and not really knowing what to do, decided to trust his instincts (which are residues of his experiences as Oboro Shirakumo) when he approached the depressed boy. He sat down next to the kid, who was curled up on his bed in a tiny ball and lying down on his right side. Kurogiri reached out...

... and pressed his misty finger to the little mole on Tomura’s face while saying, “Boop.”

The unexpected touch and the serious tone in which Kurogiri says the word “boop” was amusing enough for Tomura to let out a little giggle. With that wall broken down a bit it was easier for Kurogiri to scoot closer and start properly comforting the boy, while Tomura finally felt safe enough to unload all the feelings he’d been caught up in. From there, Kurogiri did his best to support the child and eventually grew more into his role as a parent as he learnt to listen to his own instincts more than AFO.

Since the first incident, every time Tomura has another depressive episode or is isolating himself for longer than he probably should, Kurogiri will poke the “boop button” to cheer him up and once again begin the process of pulling his child out of the darkness and back into the light.

Dadgiri Again:

It’s pretty well known that Tomura likes to go on walks so that he can take some time to think about things or blow off some steam.

Every time he puts on his shoes and gets ready to leave, Kurogiri will always stop him right before he walks out the door saying, “Wait a moment, you forgot your extra power-up.”

Kurogiri will then give Tomura the “power-up” which is actually a kiss on the forehead, then send him off on his walk.

I want a flashback with Kurogiri and young Shigaraki so bad.

I want a Kurogiri to reflect on their time together, how he was unable to do anything to actually help Tomura and could only watch as his mind was twisted by Afo over the years. How taking care of Tomura was programmed into him but Kurogiri grew to genuinely care for him anyway. To the point where Ujiko says Kurogiri had been babying him.

I want to see Kurogiri with the ruthlessnes we've seen from him in canon cut off the limbs off thugs with his portals, thugs who picked a fight with a young teen almost half their size. And then lead Tomura back, because he could only ever lead him back there, to that man who hurt them both. And the only thing he can do is protect his charge within the realm of what his programming allows.

And I want Kurogiri to get his free will back, to break through that programming that stops him from being what Tomura needed back then and what he needs now. I want Kurogiri to be the hero Shirakumo never got the chance to grow up to become. Because like Aizawa said, they can still be heroes together, even if who they want to save don't align.

You ever think about how both Tomura and Kurogiri used to be unable to remember their pasts before meeting All For One?

Do you think they would’ve bonded over that when they first met?

You ever think about how both of their pasts revolve around wanting to become heroes?

Do you think that Kurogiri/Shirakumo as he is now would tell Tomura about how he once wanted to be a hero? Even knowing that Tomura as he is now has a hatred for them?

How do you think he would react if Tomura didn’t react to this information with rejection and vitriol?

How would he react if Tomura replied…

…with a tone of voice that was simultaneously resigned and accepting and empathetic to the person that cares for him and understood him in ways barely anyone else could…

…that he once wanted to be a hero too?

If Kurogiri worked at the bar, then I bet he trained Tomura how to bartend as well to help on busy nights. I think he would also be the kind of kid who would use that training to experiment and create a ton of fucked up cocktails, the kind of drinks that taste great but fuck you up in one sip. I also bet Tomura would act out on purpose when he had to converse with the customers just to push Kurogiri’s buttons. Something like…

Shigaraki, being forced to work at Kurogiri’s bar for a busy night when he’d rather play video games: “Hi, welcome to Twilight Bar. May I recommend trying our newest cocktail, Purple Haze? I don’t mean to brag, but lots of people say this drink is better than getting dicked-down!”

Kurogiri, preparing to yeet his bratty son into a warp gate: “That’s it, you’re on kitchen duty!”

Kurogiri used to take walks with Tomura when he was young because he heard about the times Tomura would get ganged up on and he didn’t want AFO’s successor to accidentally die in a gang fight (by which I mean he’s a worried dad who doesn’t want his baby to get covered in more boo-boos than necessary). He made these guardian-ward strolls a “once a week” sort of thing, where they would run an errand or two so Tomura could experience better parts of the city and eventually visit a park to wind down if they neede a break from human interaction.

As he got older, Tomura could take walks whenever he wanted, now knowing locations that weren’t shady back alleys and were actually safer routes so he wouldn’t get dragged into a scene. Even so, he’d always let Kurogiri tag along on Sundays (as long as they get to stop for junk food… ok fine we can go to that park afterwards but the birds better not steal my chips).

He then says "Kurogiri..." and we see the last bits of him

he wanted the sadness to be over. "Izuku Midoriya, if Spinner is still alive tell him this: Tomura Shigaraki fought to destroy until the very end"

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
