A little bit of world building on my Cyber Sleuth AU. I decided this entirely a new plot in America and does not follow any events in Cyber Sleuth.
- Digimon is a new fad. It is the latest fighting game everyone is playing and bringing around. Digimon are the creatures in the game that are full of personality and life, almost human.
- Very few people can communicate back and forth with their digimon. A lot just do not converse with their digimon. Some digimon like to be functional though such as tell the time, read out mail, etc. Their personalities come in a wide range.
- The Digital World is the VR place everyone meets at with their digimon. People travel, shop, and do their online businesses there. It also a dangerous place as outside the borders of villages and safe zones, there are wild digimon roaming and too unfriendly to interact with digidestineds.
- Some digidestined feel the need to domesticate these digimon. Some think these types of digimon should be put down. A lot of people use these digimon as punching bags and data snacks to give to their own digimon.
- When the digimon are killed, they just become data to be put back into the universe. Digidestineds can collect a fraction of this data to later use either to create a replica of the same digimon or feed to their other digimon. Cycle of life.
- In the Human World, digimon are just holograms and kinda like tamagotchi. They can just be companions to hang around or battle partners to rise to the top of the online charts.
- It is only popular among young kids. Some teenagers and adults play, but a lot of them do not understand the appeal of this dumb game.
Back again with digimon ideas. Here's a concept for a digimon game (along with adding the frontier gang into it).
Digimon is an rpg game where people are adventurers and keep the peace in the Digital World. The humans reside in towns and coexist with the digimon. They go on quests and earns bits.
A lot of digimon are scared of these humans as they are sometimes merciless and kill other digimon. Humanoid digimon often battle against them and get eliminated. Many digimon don't even like humanoid digimon because of the humans since they seem to get along better with them.
A hidden quest is to find the ancient digimon spirits and become a Legendary Warrior. There are very few people who can unlock this.
Other hidden quests include are to protect Seraphimon and Ophanimon, defeat Cherubimon, defeat the Royal Knights, and defeat Lucemon.
Based on this video by Karn EX (https://youtu.be/tLMNGFXn2U0), There are currently 4 Legendary Warriors. Katsuharu, Teppei, Chiaki, and Teruo have the ancient digimon of evil. Chiaki can become Ranamon, Teppei can become Mercurymon, Katsuharu can become Arbormon, and Teruo can become Grumblemon.
They have been using their powers for evil and been causing chaos wherever they go. They do what they want and get what they want from the local, innocent digimon. Many people try to avoid these players and not get robbed of all their stuff.
In this game, anyone is able to defeat the Legendary Warriors for any of their digimon spirits but no one has been able to defeat one yet since Spirit Evolving is such a high leveled skill that has no weakness.
Meanwhile, Takuya is new to the game and has been just wandering around. He has been doing quests and been pretty neutral towards the digimon so far. He's been seeing another player too called Kouji and he's pretty interested in him. They often had to team up for bigger bosses.
One day, he defeats a hidden boss and unlocks Agunimon. He gets Bokomon and Neemon as sidekicks. They give him info about other hidden quests and rare items.
He meets up with Zoe, Tommy, and JP later on. The 3 are a party and often are together. JP is a streamer and makes content about the game while Tommy and Zoe are more skilled, often having to help him in a lot of the bosses. Tommy wants to be a game designer and gives a lot of critique about the game while Zoe is a speed-runner who is trying to fully complete everything there is in the game.
He runs into Kouji again and they take on a hidden quest that Takuya was not able to do alone. Takuya has been keeping the fact that he has the skill of Spirit Evolving under wraps since there is a bad reputation about them. He underestimates how difficult the quest was and almost lets their avatars die before Spirit Evolving. After they finish the quest, Kouji gains a digimon spirit.

So I started a Tabletop Rp with some friend in the digimon universe. Here's my digidestined and my digimon at rookie stage. No, I didnt choose to have a bat, the DM is lowkey trolling me.
Would make this as a character and their what-if Digimon partner template format.
Also, come to think of it, Izzy was meant to be the stereotypical nerd cause’ it was originally planned for him to wear glasses, but it was given to Joe when they’ve created him later on?
