Guys I got a chihuahua.

But she's very scared, she's currently laid next to me while I have the TV on.

She doesn't really play with toys (I don't think she knows how, the people we got her from didn't have toys for the dogs)

She has warmed up to me but she still seems scared.

How do I help her get used to living in my house?

She's a puppy also.

Guys I Got A Chihuahua.

Her name is Jasper :)

Her collar has a bow tie, she's so snazzy.

I've only had her for like 5 hours, I love her :]

I Need To Go And My Mother Wants Me To Put Her In The Kennel But Jasper Is Scared. I Don't Want Her To

I need to go and my mother wants me to put her in the kennel but Jasper is scared. I don't want her to be scared but I have like 1 minute what do I do.

Edit: I had to leave so I comforted her the best I could and kept her out of the kennel for as long as possible before putting her back in :(

I feel bad though :(

Here's some extra pictures. I hope she isn't too lonely while I'm at school :,[

Jasper (my dog) seems scared.

I think she and her brother were mistreated, or at the very least not interacted with or introduced to things.

Yesterday they wouldn't mess with anything (toys, chew stuff.) And also Kenny (her brother) freaked out when a guy picked him up. They would run away from people yesterday. (Jasper follow me a little.)

Jasper is trembling a lot (its not cold, I live in Texas) and she runs away if you stand up and try to pet her.

Though, good news, today she has started to mess with the toys. She'll bite the duck toy I got her. She is currently sleeping with it.

I didn't want to have her on my bed, because I'm scared she'll jump off and break something

(the dog I used to have jumped off the hotel bed and broke his leg. Trying to avoid that.)

So she's lying on a blanket on the floor, I'm lying down next to her to keep an eye on her.

Can people recommend me ways of getting her used to my house and me? (And people in my house)

Also some pictures of her and the duck 🦆

sorry if you don't like me posting about my dog, I'm just trying to get advice because I don't really know what I'm doing, I've never fully taken care of a dog and never one this young (she's around 3 months I think)

"The Dog and My Child: The Lifelong Friend I Didn't Expect"

"The Dog And My Child: The Lifelong Friend I Didn't Expect"

In the midst of the sounds of bombing that did not subside, and in the midst of the siege that took away everything beautiful from our lives, my little child found in his little dog a window to another world, a world filled with tenderness and hope. Even though life around us became heavy, full of fear and hunger, my child’s heart was beating with non-stop love, love for his little dog.

He took care of him every day, making sure to find him something to eat even if he had to split his small portion of food. They spent long hours together, running through the rubble, playing as if the war was far away from them. The dog was giving him a kind of security, and my child was giving him the same security in return, as if each of them was saying to the other: “As long as we are together, we will not give in to fear.”

One night, when it was raining fire and the sound of planes was shattering the stillness, my child held his dog in his arms and whispered to him, “Don't worry, we'll be fine...as long as we're together.”

In that moment, I realized that my child, despite all the destruction surrounding him, still retained his humanity. He and the dog represent the hope that war cannot destroy, the hope that lives in little hearts that know how to love and care, even in the darkest circumstances.

But this friendship, which connects two tired hearts, is threatened by lack and need. My child and his dog don't want much, just enough to sustain this shared life. A little food, some care, and an ounce of hope. Your donation will give these two companions a chance to stay together, in a world that has forgotten them, but is still full of hearts like yours, that can reach out to them.
