That one scene from episode 8 (but I happen to love Druffering and I refuse to believe Drew wasn’t absolutely crushed after Jake chose Hailey and the Music Club over him.)

Kinda Let My Creativity Run Wild With This One.

Kinda let my creativity run wild with this one.

I imagine this takes place about a year after graduation, where Drew never reconciled with Jake, and left high school with nothing but guilt, regret, and horrible trust issues, leaving him unable to open up again.

Black And White Practices

——————————————————————————

“-When you gave your heart to me-” Jake continued. “You gave it in hopes I’d return my own.” It wasn’t a question. It was an observation. As if Jake could see right through him.

“Was that… so much to ask for?” Drew asked, and Jake took a moment before answering:

🖤Honk Shoo💛

*+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+

Synopsis: Drew invites the Jomies over for a sleepover, but when Drew suddenly wakes up in the middle of the night and rushes out of the room, Jake grows concerned, and decides to follow him.

A/N: This is the fic that goes along with my previous art. I have a ton of stories about these two so I might post more but I don’t know. Also yes this fic’s name is Honk Shoo. It is saved as Honk Shoo and I will not be changing it.

Jake’s eyes opened slowly when he felt the bed shift, and he lifted his head to see to see Drew walking towards the door, his hand covering his mouth as he did his best to muffle what sounded almost like a sob. Confused as to what he heard, Jake slid out of bed, navigating through the dark room while being cautious of Henry and Liam, who laid sprawled out across an air mattress on the floor. As quietly as he could, Jake twisted the door knob and opened the door.

“Drew?” He called softly, taking a step out into the hall. The only light came from a small window against the left wall, revealing Drew standing still in the middle of the hallway.

“What are you doing up?” He asked, his voice flat. Had Jake not heard him moments earlier, he would’ve assumed Drew was fine.

“Are you okay?” Jake chose to ignore Drew’s previous question, concern growing when he noticed Drew stiffen. “I thought I heard you-”

“I’m fine, Jake.” He interrupted. “I just-” His voice had begun to waver, and he took in a quick breath. “Need to use the bathroom.” He finished. Jake took a step towards him.

“You don’t sound fine,” He stated. “What’s going on?”

“Nothing. Just drop it.” Drew’s voice had gained a slight edge to it, but despite that, Jake continued.

“...You can talk to me if you need to. I-”

“Dammit Jake!” Drew suddenly snapped. He whipped around, and from the faint light of the window, Jake could see the redness of his eyes, and the reflection of tears along his cheeks. “Can you just-!”

Jake took a step back, and Drew paused, his hardened expression melting almost immediately.

“Wait- shit, I… I didn’t-” Drew’s voice cracked on his words. “Fuck,” He mumbled, tilting his head down and blinking tears from his eyes. “Just… get out of here…”

But despite Drew’s words, Jake couldn’t bring himself to move.

“I don’t want to leave you alone like this…” He said.

Drew didn’t respond, and instead buried his face in his hands, doing his best to hide his expression from view.

Hesitantly, Jake took a step closer, and when Drew failed to react, he continued, until he was close enough to rest his hands on Drew’s shoulders. Drew remained still as Jake did so, staring down at himself as his hands forced away his tears.

Jake couldn’t recall a time he’d seen Drew in this light before…

And without thinking, Jake pulled him into an embrace, holding him lightly in case he wanted to break away. Drew’s breath hitched, and his body stiffened for a moment before he pressed his head against the crook of Jake’s neck, wrapping his arms around Jake’s shoulders. Jake was surprised by how tight his grip was, as if he’d somehow disappear the moment Drew let go.

He could feel Drew’s nails digging deep into his shoulders, to the point where it stung a bit. However, Jake couldn’t bring himself to say anything, simply holding Drew closer as the magenta-haired man sobbed against his shoulder. The sound of his muffled cries made Jake’s chest ache, and he wished there was more he could do to help him.

Gently, Jake ran his hand through Drew’s hair, slowing his breathing in hopes of helping him calm down. Eventually, Drew’s slowed as well, and he soon fell silent.

The blonde lifted his head to glance down at Drew again, but the shorter man wouldn’t look him in the eye.

“…Do you wanna go get some water?” Jake asked, unsure of what else to say. Drew thought for a moment, then gave a small nod, pulling himself off of Jake and guiding the two downstairs. Jake had to be careful to avoid bumping into anything in the darkness, but the two eventually managed to reach the kitchen. Jake sat himself down on the counter, keeping a careful eye on Drew.

The magenta-haired man had kept his head down for most of the journey, but eventually had to lift his head to see the cabinets. He opened the doors, revealing shelves of empty glasses and mugs, and as Drew struggled to reach the top shelf to grab one, an idea popped in Jake’s head.

“Hey, Drew? Do you still have that hot chocolate mix you made us that one time?” Drew glanced at him over his shoulder.

“You seriously want me to make you hot chocolate at this time of night?” His voice sounded a bit raspy.

“I’m saying I want you to make us hot chocolate,” Jake said, leaning a bit closer to him. He figured it’d serve as a nice distraction from… whatever Drew was dealing with. And besides, who could be miserable when they had hot chocolate?

Drew glanced down at the floor, biting the inside of his lip.

“Come on… sounds nice, doesn’t it?” Jake asked, and for a moment, he could’ve sworn he saw Drew blush. But before he could confirm, the magenta-haired man whipped his head away.

“Liam and Henry better not find out about this,” He said, turning back to the cabinet and pulling out two mugs from the bottom shelf. Jake grinned as Drew turned to grab the milk from the fridge, filling the two mugs and placing them in the microwave. The two waited in a comfortable silence, Jake watching the mugs spin and Drew watching the timer, pulling the mugs out just before the microwave beeped. Drew then grabbed two hot chocolate packets from some expensive brand and poured them into the milk. He mixed it around with a spoon before finally handing Jake his mug. Jake gave him a smile and nod as thanks, but Drew only glanced away from him, sitting himself on the counter beside him. Not paying much mind to it, Jake took a sip, only to immediately regret it as a burning sensation flooded his tongue. He spat it back out, sticking his tongue out and letting out a whine of pain. Drew gave a small laugh, the first one of the evening.

“Idiot," He whispered, blowing on his mug.

“It didn’t look that hot!” Jake defended.

“It’s called hot chocolate for a reason, dumbass,” Jake stuck his tongue out at him. “God, you’re such a child.”

“I am literally older than you!” Jake retaliated.

“Yeah, by a whole three months, what a difference,” Jake rolled his eyes, a smile crossing his face when he realized Drew had cheered up slightly. Their eyes met, and once again, it seemed as if Drew was blushing, but he quickly turned his head, taking a sip of his drink, only to make a face as he forced it down.

“You burned your tongue too, didn’t you?” Jake asked.

“N-no! I didn’t!” Drew’s blush deepened.

“Oh, you totally did!” Jake exclaimed, pointing and laughing at him. “Who’s the dumbass now!”

“Shut up!” Drew said, playfully shoving Jake away from him.

“Make me.” Jake challenged. Drew stared at him, and for a moment, Jake caught Drew glance down at his lips.

And without warning, he flicked Jake’s nose.

“Ow-!” Drew snickered.

“Serves you right.” He said, and Jake set his glass down, clutching his nose in a rather dramatic fashion.

“Why are you so mean to me?” He whined.

“You have no right to call me that after I made hot chocolate for you-”Jake leaned against his shoulder, causing Drew’s breath to hitch.

“But you hurt me!” He cried, oblivious to Drew’s sudden tension. Drew sighed.

“Liam and Henry have body slammed each other on multiple occasions, but I somehow cross a line by flicking you?”

“Yes.” Jake sighed, and Drew stared down at him.

“Well, maybe don’t give me a reason to flick you.”

“Wow, all my fault I see…” Drew laughed again, and Jake let out a small hum, leaning against him further.

The room fell silent after that, and Jake suddenly realized how fast Drew’s heart was beating.

“You feeling any better?” Jake ventured, his voice softening as he glanced up at Drew, who had his face angled from view.

“Yeah, I am.” He answered, taking a quick sip from his mug before continuing. “Can we just… not talk about what happened?” He asked, and Jake gave a small nod of acknowledgement.

“That’s fine.” He said. “But I’m… glad I could… be there with you, you know?” Drew didn’t respond, but Jake could still feel his heart was still racing. Jake lifted his head. “Are… you sure you’re okay?”

“Yeah…” He paused for a moment, before finally turning to face him.

“Jake?” Jake tilted his head, and Drew’s eyes searched his expression, opening his mouth to speak before deciding against it.

“You’re really cheesy,” He eventually said.

“Wha- how am I cheesy?”

“You just are,” Drew answered. Jake scoffed.

“You think everything’s cheesy.”

“Not everything.” Drew replied. “Just you.” Jake frowned.

“Well, if caring about you somehow makes me cheesy, then call me, like, a block of cheddar.” Drew snorted.

“That’s the dumbest fucking thing I’ve ever heard.”

“Made you laugh though, didn’t it?” Drew covered his mouth, hiding a bit of his smile.

“You’re such a dumbass” Jake grinned at him as he reached for his own mug.

Seeing Drew smile like this… it was such a treasure.

*+*+*

After about an hour of talking and drinking their hot chocolates, the two made their way back upstairs to Drew’s bedroom, climbing back into Drew’s bed. Drew turned to face him.

“Jake..?” He asked, keeping his voice hushed. Jake glanced back at him.

“Yeah?”

“…Thanks for… uhm… staying with me tonight,” He mumbled, stumbling over his words a bit. Jake smiled.

“Of course! That’s what friends do!” He said, and Drew’s face seemed to get a bit red again as he pulled the covers closer to him.

“You…” He paused for a moment. “You’re a good friend…” He whispered, and Jake was barely able to hear what he’d said.

“I try my best,” Jake admitted, giving a much more sheepish smile than before. Receiving compliments from Drew was… rare, to say the least.

Drew gave a small nod, and the blankets began to shift a bit as he moved his arm. Jake blinked when he felt Drew’s hand graze his, but instead of moving, Drew interlocked their pinkies together. Jake tilted his head. This felt… oddly intimate, coming from Drew.

Drew wouldn’t meet his gaze, his face a deep shade of red before he shook his head, pulling his hand away from him and rolling over so his back faced him.

“Goodnight.” He said. But the word was rushed, and his voice sounded rather defensive.

“Oh… goodnight?” Jake responded, confused by the interaction. He stared at Drew for a few moments, unsure if the magenta-haired man would say anything else. However, after a bit of silence, Jake laid his head down on the pillow, choosing to accept Drew’s explanation and falling back asleep not much later.

More Drew Headcanons!

(Because he’s my favorite.)

🖤The softest hair out of the Jomies, loves having it played with but would rather die than admit it. (The Jomies also like playing with Drew's hair, they’re just are too coward to say anything.)

🖤Has one of those 80 step skincare routines.

🖤Likes watching terrible movies just to insult them.

🖤Fiddles with his bangs a lot and tends to blow them out of his face.

🖤Bites his pencil when he's focused.

🖤Lives off energy drinks because he’s always up late on his PC.

🖤Touch starved, but is only fine with certain people touching him. (cough Jake cough.)

🖤His parents were usually always busy, so he was essentially left to raise himself. As a result, he’s attention-starved, and desperately craves validation.

🖤Extremely lonely, and hates being reminded of it.

🖤Always finds subtle ways to initiate contact with Jake. (Wraps his arm around him, brushes his hand against Jake’s during class, etc.)

🖤Extremely protective of those he cares about.

🖤Internalized homophobia.

🖤Love language is gift giving.

🖤Had past relationships before Zoey, but these only lasted like a week or two, so he's still relatively inexperienced when it comes to dating.

🖤Prefers the softer side of love, such as cuddles and hand-holding.

🖤Genuinely believes love and affection can be bought through material possessions.

🖤Zoey was the one to ask him out first. He didn’t feel much in terms of romantic attraction at the time, but accepted both for status, and out of desire to feel wanted by someone.

🖤Genuinely cared about Zoey, but was never sure if it was romantically or platonically. Regardless, he went out with her, and treated her like a princess.

🖤Would play on his PC while his girlfriend was over.

🖤Secretly likes being little spoon.

🖤Has underlying feelings for Jake that he does not let himself address or process.

🖤Abandonment issues.

🖤When he hugs someone, he digs his nails into their back because he's desperate for them to stay.

🖤Undiagnosed depression

(I can’t wait to watch half of these become outdated with the release of S2.)

🖤Drew Sickfic💛

* + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * +

Synopsis: Despite waking up feeling feverish, Drew forces himself to attend school.

A/N: I don’t really have a better name for this fic, but it’s one of my favorites so-

* + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * + * +

"Wow, you look like hell."

Drew sighed as opened his locker, ignoring Henry's comment regarding his appearance. He barely took any time to get ready that morning, only throwing on his hoodie and jeans before leaving for school. His hair was no doubt a mess, and the bags under his eyes were likely obvious. Not to mention the mask on his face being a complete giveaway to his current condition.

"You good, dude?" Liam asked, and Drew threw his bag into his locker before turning to face them.

"'Fine," He answered, leaning against his locker for support. "Just tired."

"You look ill," Henry commented. He reached over and placed his hand against Drew's forehead, only for Drew to swat him away. "Jeez, dude! You're burning up!" He exclaimed, earning an eye roll from Drew.

"I know."

"Why didn't you just stay home?" Liam questioned, and Drew simply shrugged.

“I mean, it’s not-” Drew paused, quickly turning to cough into his sleeve. “It’s not that bad.” Liam frowned.

“Are you sure you’ll be able to attend class like this?” His voice was softer than usual, and it gave Drew an odd feeling in his stomach. He opened his mouth to answer, only to have a familiar voice speak over him.

"Hey guys!" Drew turned around to see Jake walking over, but the moment his eyes met Drew, he paused.

"Woah, Drew, you alright?" He asked. Henry answered for him.

"He's sick." Drew tilted his head.

"I'm fine." He stated firmly, and he could tell Liam wanted to say something, but before he could, the bell rang.

“Come on, we have to go to class,” Drew didn’t wait for them to answer him, quickly turning and heading off to his first class.

* + * + *

Drew’s first two periods were relatively easy. He had Liam in his second hour, who helped him stay focused on the lecture. However, as the day continued, Drew found himself growing increasingly exhausted, nearly falling asleep during the lessons until a violent cough managed to wake him. His body felt so unbearably hot, and he began to severely regret wearing a hoodie that day. When it was finally lunch, Drew couldn’t bring himself to order anything. Instead, he laid his head down on the table, cherishing the coolness of the polished wood. He couldn’t even register what his friends were talking about. They… sounded more hushed than usual, though.

By the time lunch ended, Drew found himself struggling to walk straight, and he dimly noted how Jake had a hand on his arm, guiding him to their next hour. In fact… Drew didn’t think Jake left his side once after that, even going out of his way to walk him to his 7th hour despite not sharing that class with him.

By the time school was out, Drew was about ready to collapse. He stood slumped against his locker, the cold of the metal feeling like pure bliss in that moment.

"Are… you even gonna be able to make it home like this?" Drew looked up. That… was Jake’s voice, right? He blinked, but… he couldn’t seem to focus. Everything was blurry.

Drew stared down at his hands, suddenly feeling very dizzy. He stumbled forward. Everything was spinning. Voices became muffled. He was leaning against someone, but he couldn’t figure out who.

Wait… when did he even fall?

Dark spots soon began to appear in Drew's vision, and before knew it, he was out cold.

* + * + *

Drew woke up some time later, finding himself in a small, stiff bed. Slowly, he lifted his head, blinking as he focused on his surroundings. Was this the nurse’s office? How did he get here?

"Okay, I will…" Drew turned to see Jake standing in the corner of the room, his phone against his ear. "Love you too, Mom… Bye.”

"J…Jake..?" Drew whispered, his voice a bit raspy. Jake turned around, his eyes widening in surprise.

"Drew!" Before he knew it, Jake was running over to his side, kneeling down and wrapping his arms around him in a tight hug. Normally, Drew would've protested such an action, but there was something so comforting about Jake's presence that he ended up returning the embrace, tucking his head into the crook of the blonde’s neck.

"You're finally awake," Jake said. "Do you feel alright?"

"Wha… what happened?"

"You passed out by the lockers!” Jake exclaimed. Drew lifted his head to face him, but kept his arms loosely wrapped around Jake’s shoulders. “We didn’t know what to do, so we rushed you here.” Drew gave a small nod. “Henry and Liam couldn’t stay though. They had to catch the bus.” Another nod, and Jake’s eyes widened slightly. “Oh, right! I need to text them…” Jake’s voice trailed off as let go of Drew, reaching into his pocket and sending a quick text to their group chat. Although slightly awkward, Drew managed to keep his arms wrapped around Jake’s shoulders, glancing over to read the text he sent.

“Are you just gonna… stay like that?” Jake asked after he sent it, returning his phone to his pocket.

“Like what?” Drew asked, a small frown forming on his face.

“Like…” Jake motioned to where Drew’s arms were. “This?”

“There a problem with it?” He asked, tilting his head slightly. Jake let out a small laugh.

“God, I am not gonna let you forget this,” He said to himself. Drew narrowed his eyebrows, confused by Jake’s comment. However, he opted to say nothing, returning his head to the crook of Jake’s neck and taking in a slow breath. Jake let out a small hum as he wrapped his arms around Drew, pulling himself closer and running a hand through Drew’s hair, silently playing with the magenta locks.

…This felt like a dream…

💙Hamburger🩷

*+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+

Synopsis: Liam and Henry decide to ditch school together, and as a result, Drew and Jake decide to have their own little day together. But things don’t quite go as planned.

A/N: I currently do not have access to my drawing tablet, so I might be posting more fic-related content. For anyone invested in these, I’ve been uploading them in a certain order to try and keep a certain timeline going, but this may be subject to change as I write more. For now though, all of these fics take place during Sophomore year, prior to Zoey and Drew going out. I’m trying to remain as canon-compliant as possible, but some ideas may become outdated once S2 comes out. (Also yes this Drake fic is called Hamburger my best friend named it.)

Contains minor swearing.

*+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+

Drew closed his locker, letting out a slow breath as he rested his hand on the metal door.

Him and Jake would be going out today, just the two of them. Henry and Liam both claimed to be ‘sick’, but considering what they were posting on Instagram, it was obvious they ditched school together. Leaving just Jake available to hang out.

God, even the idea of being alone with Jake made Drew’s heart flutter. He didn’t know why, nor did he care to find out. The feeling was nice, and that’s all that mattered.

Drew turned to lean against the locker, pulling out his phone to see what new shenanigans Liam and Henry were up to.

“Whatcha lookin at?” Drew startled at the sudden voice, glancing up to see Jake with his arm against his locker, leaning over to see what Drew was looking at.

“Liam’s Instagram.” Jake leaned a bit closer.

“Ooh, what’re they up to now?” Drew tilted his phone towards Jake, showing him a photo of Liam standing behind a gate that clearly said ‘DO NOT ENTER’. Jake let out a small laugh, and Drew did his best to hide a smile.

“You gonna bail them out if they get arrested?” The blonde asked, turning to unlock his locker.

“Hell no. If they can get themselves in jail, they can get themselves out.”

“Heh, that’s fair.” Jake said, tossing his books into his locker before closing it. “Well, I’m ready when you are.” Drew gave a small nod of acknowledgement, and the two left for the school’s exit.

“So… what’s the plan?” Jake asked.

“That shitty burger place, then…” Drew thought for a moment. “I don’t know, whatever you wanna do after.” Jake glanced up a bit, holding his arms behind his head.

“I know there's a park a couple blocks down. We can go chill there.”

“Why not?”

“We going back to your place after?” Jake asked, turning to look at him. Drew thought for a moment before shrugging.

“Whatever you want to do,” He answered.

“Cool.”

*+*+*

The first stop was that shitty burger place. The food there was dirt cheap, and… well, really shitty. Hence the nickname. Drew didn’t know why he and his friends went there after school so often. He could easily afford much nicer places for them. But all three of them seemed to like the food, so…

Jake chose a booth close to the window, sliding himself into the seat. Drew sat across from him, directing his attention towards the window as the two waited for their food to arrive. The two talked for a bit, and Jake took a quick photo of the two of them flipping off the camera to send to Henry and Liam. The two got their food not long after, and the quality was just as horrible as Drew remembered it being. But, Jake seemed to be perfectly content, and as long as he was happy, Drew was as well.

The two talked while they ate, and the topic seemed to shift about every minute or so, when Jake would get distracted, or go on a tangent about something, only to lead into another.

Their conversations were about simple things. About meaningless things. About things both Drew and Jake would probably forget about by tomorrow. Even when the two left the restaurant, their conversations continued, and even if Drew failed to remember what they discussed, he knew he wouldn’t be forgetting the feeling of that day anytime soon. The warmth in his chest. The way his cheeks seemed to hurt from constant smiles and laughs. The way Jake looked, drenched in the dappled sunlight filtering through the clouds. The glimmer in his eyes, the brightness of his smile…

And even as the clouds began to cover more of the sun, Jake’s light never faded. Drew felt himself drawn to it, following him blindly to wherever he desired, listening to his voice ramble endlessly.

If the sun was somehow a person, Drew was certain it would be Jake. Someone so bright Drew wasn’t even sure he deserved to stand beside.

And a part of him was almost glad Henry and Liam had decided to leave Drew and Jake out of their plan to ditch school. Drew wouldn’t want to trade this day for anything. Everything was perfect…

Until Drew felt a few drops of water land on his head, snapping him out of whatever spell Jake had him under.

He glanced up, realizing how dark the sky had gotten, and watched as a few more drops fell from the sky. It had started raining.

And Drew didn’t know where the hell they were.

“You’ve got to be kidding me.” Drew mumbled to himself.

“Crap…” Drew heard Jake whisper. The blonde turned towards him. “You uh… didn’t happen to bring a-”

“No? You think I check the weather forecast?” Drew interrupted, pulling the hood of his sweater over his head. Jake sighed, shrugging off his jacket as the rain began to pick up a bit. He held it over his head, extending one arm towards Drew and motioning with his head for him to come closer. With a slight blush, Drew took a step towards him, taking shelter under the blue leather jacket. It didn’t cover either of them by much, but it was better than nothing.

“The park’s not much farther. We can probably take shelter there,” Drew gave a small nod, following Jake down the sidewalk and praying he knew where they were going. Jake had gotten them lost on numerous occasions, and Drew didn’t want this to be another. Especially with the temperature dropping and the rain picking up.

Not to mention how dumb they must’ve looked. But thankfully, Drew didn’t notice anyone outside at the moment.

Eventually, Drew caught sight of the park Jake was talking about, and Jake’s eyes seemed to light up at the sight.

“We’re here, let’s go!” Before Drew could respond, Jake took off towards the playground, and Drew nearly slipped trying to keep up with him. The two ran through the wet sand, and Jake eventually stopped when they reached a small blue tunnel underneath a platform for children to play on. Jake pulled the both of them inside, and considering this playground was intended for children, it was… a tight fit. The two were pressed close together, with their knees brought to their chests just to fit inside.

“This is the dumbest thing I think we’ve ever done,” Drew commented.

“Nothing compared to what Henry and I did last week,” Drew opened his mouth to argue, but decided against it, and watched as Jake pulled his jacket back on. Lucky him. His jacket was still mostly dry on the inside thanks to the leather it was made with, unlike Drew’s hoodie, which had gotten soaked from the rain. The fabric clung to his body, heavy and uncomfortable, but the idea of taking it off in weather like this wasn’t pleasant either. Ultimately, Drew chose to deal with it.

“I’m gonna call my mom. I’ll see if she can pick us up from here.” Jake said, pulling out his phone from his back pocket. He dialed her number, pressed the phone against his ear, and after a few rings, she picked up.

“Hey, mom,” Jake started. “You uh… you busy right now?” Jake fell silent for a moment, and Drew assumed his mom was talking. Jake let out a small laugh before he spoke again.

“…Yeah, actually. Could you-” Jake paused.

“Yeah, yeah, I know, I know-” He paused again, then sighed.

“You were right.” He said, his voice flat.

“We’re at the park right now,”

“Yeah, that one,”

“Okay, thanks mom.”

“Yeah, we’re fine,”

“Okay, love you… Bye.”

Drew tried to remember the last time he’d told his own parents that…

“She’ll be here in 15 minutes,” Jake stated, placing his phone back into his pocket. Drew gave a small nod, bringing his hands up to his mouth and blowing into them to try and warm them.

15 minutes… stuck in a tunnel… with Jake. How delightful.

“You cold?” Jake suddenly asked, and it finally occurred to Drew that he was shivering. He shrugged, wrapping his arms around himself to try and hide it a little. Jake removed one sleeve of his jacket, extending it towards him. Drew looked at it, then Jake.

“H-huh-?!” Drew’s face flushed when he realized what Jake was offering.

“What? We’re both freezing, and my mom’s not gonna be here for a while.” Drew paused.

“Are you sure about this?” He asked, his voice growing quiet.

“Why not?” Jake answered. He sounded so casual about it, and Drew wished he could feel the same.

Why was his heart racing so fast? They were best friends, this shouldn’t be that big of a deal.

Drew swallowed, scooting himself closer and laying against Jake’s chest. Jake’s arm, meanwhile, wrapped around Drew’s shoulders, draping the jacket over his back.

…It was suddenly a lot warmer now.

But… It felt really nice.

Letting out a quiet breath, Drew allowed himself to relax, resting his head against Jake’s shoulder and wrapping his arms around the blonde’s torso, holding onto his shirt.

And despite the both of them being soaked from the rain, Drew couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt so comfortable.

Being with Jake like this… it felt… safe.

And Drew found himself closing his eyes.

He could feel Jake let out a small hum.

“Feeling any better?” He asked. Drew opened his eyes, giving a small, tired nod. Jake laughed.

“Hey, you know what this reminds me of?” He asked, and the way he dragged out his words sounded way too familiar. Slowly, Drew lifted his head.

“I swear, if you bring up the-”

“That time you got sick, and you kept clinging onto me like-” Drew shoved his side with his elbow.

“Shut up! I didn’t know what I was doing!” Drew exclaimed, only to be met with Jake’s laughter once more.

“Come on- just admit it! You love me!” Drew flushed.

“I fucking hate you,” He snapped, covering his mouth with the back of his hand.

“Love you too, Drewy-bear!” Jake said with a wink. And for a moment, Drew almost forgot what planet he was on. Why did Jake do this to him? How did Jake do this to him?

…And why did he never want him to stop?

Drew was brought back to reality when he heard Jake’s phone ding, and the blonde pulled it out of his pocket, checking the notification.

“Oh, she’s here,” He said, before shoving it back in his pocket and crawling over Drew to escape the tunnel. He stood up, holding out his hand to Drew. Drew accepted it, glancing up towards the road to see a familiar car parked by the sidewalk. Drew followed Jake towards it, and he could faintly see Jake’s little brother, Milo, sitting in the front seat. His eyes were glued to his GachaSwitch.

Jake opened the door for the both of them, and Drew entered the car. He tried to take up as little of the seat as possible, knowing his clothes were soaked.

“Heya!” Jake said as he followed Drew into the car, sitting down beside him.

“Bet you regret not listening to me this morning, huh?” Jake’s mom asked him, and Jake sighed as he shut the car door.

“I know, I know,” Jake said. “But it really didn’t look that cloudy this morning!” Jake’s mom shifted the car into drive, pulling away from the curb.

“Better to be prepared than not,” She lectured. “You boys aren’t feeling sick, are you?” She asked, her voice growing concerned.

“We’re fine, just cold.” Jake said. His mom nodded, turning up the heater a bit.

“You want me to drop you off at your place, Drew?” She asked. Drew glanced up at Jake.

“You could stay the night too, if you want.” Jake offered. Drew thought for a moment.

“Shouldn’t you be asking me, first?” Jake’s mom asked.

“Ah, yeah, right. Uh… could he? If he wanted to?” Jake asked. His mom rolled her eyes, a small smile appearing on her face.

“Yes, he can.” Jake smiled before turning back to Drew, awaiting his answer.

“Great! So? Do you want to?” The blonde asked. Drew gave a small nod, and Jake’s enthusiasm towards his answer gave Drew that same warm feeling he always managed to find with Jake. But as Drew glanced back towards Jake’s mom, he began to wonder something.

On the few occasions that Drew would stay at Jake’s house, Jake’s mom would always requested his parents approval. And considering how little contact he had with them, he’d often lie to her, saying they agreed when he hadn’t even asked. But… this time, she didn’t asked him anything. Had Jake told her about his parents or something?

…He didn’t let himself dwell on it. All that mattered was the fact he got to spend the night with Jake.

He turned his attention to his phone, checking Henry and Liam’s instagram to see if anything new was posted. And after realizing Jake was glancing over at him, he leaned a bit closer, sharing his screen.

Between the slight rumble of the car, the warmth of the heater, the quiet buzz of the radio, and the comfort of being by Jake’s side, Drew found himself growing rather drowsy, until he could barely keep his eyes open anymore. At some point, Drew had stopped scrolling, and his phone fell into his lap. A moment later, he blinked, and the world slipped into darkness.

*+*+*

“...rew…”

“Drew, wake up.”

Drew blinked, recognizing the sound of Jake’s voice. Glancing around, he realized he was still in the car. Did he fall asleep?

“We’re here.” Jake whispered, and as Drew glanced up to look at him, it suddenly occurred to him that he was leaning against the blonde’s shoulder. Quickly, he sat up.

“J-Jake! Shit, when did I-“

“About five minutes ago? Maybe?” Drew swallowed.

“Why didn’t you wake me up?” Jake rolled his eyes.

“You stay up ‘til two in the morning on the regular. You probably needed that nap.” Drew frowned, but said nothing else as Jake opened the door for him and led him inside the house. Jake’s mom was standing in the doorway, whereas Milo was nowhere to be seen. Once the two had entered, Jake closed and locked the door, then kneeled down to take off his shoes.

“I’m gonna finish making dinner,” Jake’s mom said. “Both of you better take a shower. I don’t need either of you getting sick.” Jake gave a nod, and his mom left for the kitchen.

“You wanna shower first?” He asked, setting his shoes aside.

“Sure,” Drew replied, doing the same. Jake gave a nod in response.

“I’ll go get you some spare clothes,” With another quick nod, Drew made his way to the guest bathroom. He’d grown far too familiar with Jake’s house, knowing it about as well as he knew his own. He opened the door to the bathroom and flicked on the light before shutting the door behind him. Finally, he could take off his hoodie. It had dried a bit thanks to the heater, but it was still uncomfortable to wear, and Drew was glad to be rid of it. As he turned on the shower to get the water warm, Jake entered the bathroom, bringing with him some spare clothes and an extra towel. He left as quickly as he came, and Drew locked the door before taking off the rest of his clothes. He tried to keep his shower quick, knowing Jake had to use it as well, but with how cold his body was, and how warm the water was by comparison, it was a bit of a challenge to find the will to leave. But eventually, he finished bathing himself, and threw on the spare clothes Jake had brought him. He left shortly after that, the towel still in his arms as he called for Jake to let him know it was his turn to wash up. Jake had whisked past him faster than he expected, closing the door rather quickly. Rolling his eyes, Drew made his way to Jake’s bedroom, sitting himself down on the bed as he dried off his hair. Pulling the towel away from himself, Drew glanced down at what he was wearing.

The clothes Jake had given him were nothing special. An old, long-sleeved shirt and cropped sweatpants. They weren’t too fancy, nor all that soft. They were simple, and obviously cheap.

But somehow… they still felt special. And Drew felt especially comfortable wearing them. Even compared to his own clothes.

He’d borrowed Jake’s clothes countless times before, yet the feeling never seemed to fade, and Drew hoped it never would. It was a wonderful feeling.

Drew was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the door open, and he glanced up to see Jake standing in the doorway, dressed in a tank top and deep blue sweatpants. He had the towel draped across his shoulders, and his hair was still dripping wet.

God, why did he still look so beautiful?

“Dinner’s ready!” Jake announced, and Drew stood up from the bed, following him to the kitchen.

*+*+*

Dinner was nothing special. Just some pasta and store-bought bread rolls, but it still tasted amazing. Jake and Milo bickered most of the evening, and it was honestly amusing how often Jake would argue with someone about 4 years younger than him. It was even more amusing how often he’d lose.

Jake’s house was nowhere near as quiet as his. It was lively, yet comforting at the same time. Drew would never admit it, but he much preferred being at Jake’s house than his own, even if there wasn’t much to do.

Because Jake’s house felt like a home, and Drew’s just felt… lonely.

*+*+*

Once everyone had finished eating, Jake was put in charge of dishes. Drew helped load them into the dishwasher while Jake washed them, and between the two of them, they were able to get them accomplished rather quickly. Afterwards, the two made their way upstairs, laying down on Jake’s bed beside one another. Jake rested his arms underneath his head, letting out a sigh.

“Today was fun,” He said, glancing over at Drew. Drew turned to face him.

“Yeah.”

“We should do this more often, just the two of us,” Jake suggested, and Drew felt his face warm at the idea. “Make Henry and Liam jealous.” He added with a wink.

“They’ll probably think we’re gay.” Drew joked, rolling his eyes as he recalled how often Henry and Liam referred to them as ‘boyfriends’. Jake let out a small laugh.

“If anyone’s gay in this friend group, it’s those two. I mean, they’ve literally kissed before.” The magenta-haired man chuckled.

“I guess so,”

“I really do want to do this more though, don’t you?” Jake asked, rolling over to face him. Their eyes met, and it took a moment for Drew to respond.

“Yeah, I do.” He said. Jake smiled at him.

“Awesome,” He said. “Any ideas for our next adventures? Preferably on a less rainy day?” Drew shrugged, shifting himself underneath the blankets.

Jake stared up at the fan, seemingly deep in thought for a moment, only to let out a yawn.

“I’ll leave that up to future us, then.” Jake decided, getting under the covers as well. Drew watched as he did so, and found himself staring while the blonde’s gaze was away.

“...Jake..?” Jake glanced over at him.

“What’s up?” Drew thought for a moment. He didn’t know why he was about to say this, but…

“I’m… still cold.”

Drew’s heart was pounding. Would Jake even understand what he meant by that?

Jake sat up.

“Oh! Sorry about that. Lemme grab you a spare blanket!” Before Drew could say anything else, Jake had gotten up and left the room. Drew let out a small groan, rolling onto his back.

Dumbass. That wasn’t at all what he meant.

He didn’t want a blanket… he wanted Jake…

And even though Jake hadn’t understood what Drew was implying, the magenta-haired man couldn’t help but feel embarrassed at himself. Why did he even say that in the first place? Why did he want to-

No, no he wasn’t going to question it. It was normal for friends to want… to…

Drew sat up when he heard the door open again, and Jake returned with a soft, peach-colored blanket folded in his arms. He made his way to Drew’s side, carefully draping the blanket over him before climbing back into bed.

“That better?”

“Yeah, thanks.” Drew responded half-heartedly, however, Jake was as oblivious as ever.

“No problem.” The blonde let out another yawn as he settled himself back into bed, covering himself with the blankets.

“I think I’m gonna head to bed.” He said. Drew gave a small nod in response. “‘Night, Drew. See you in the morning.”

“‘Night,” Drew said, before rolling over, facing his back to Jake. Drew wished he could fall asleep as well, but he couldn’t prevent the questions from arising.

Why had he wanted Jake to hug him again? Why did he want to be in Jake’s arms so badly? Why did it feel like more than just a want? Why did it feel like a need? A desperation?

Why did the idea of being alone with Jake make his heart race? Why did he like being at his house? In his clothes? In his bed? Why did-

Drew paused.

…And he considered a possibility he hadn’t yet thought of…

…But he hated it.

He didn’t want to admit it. It was disgusting to even consider.

So instead, Drew kept telling himself that…

Jake was just a really good friend.

A friend Drew didn’t deserve…

From the boy who had everything he wanted…

To the boy who lost everything he needed…

From The Boy Who Had Everything He Wanted

(I love me some good visual storytelling. I love seeing the contrast between how Drew dressed when he was confident in his relationships, and how he dresses when they grow unstable. I love seeing how much of this boy’s happiness comes from his friends, because I know damn well this boy cannot find happiness in himself and who he is as a person. I love knowing his arrogance is all a front to try and appear more confident and cool so that people like him more. Or at least so they don’t view him as weak or lonely.)

(…Anyways time to cry again. )

My last post didn’t do my thoughts justice. I have more to say regarding this.

My Last Post Didnt Do My Thoughts Justice. I Have More To Say Regarding This.
My Last Post Didnt Do My Thoughts Justice. I Have More To Say Regarding This.

First, I have to talk about this boy’s insecurities. Because my god does he have them. His egotistical and cocky attitude? It’s all a front.

Because whenever we see him brag about himself, it’s usually either about his money, his possessions, or his achievements. He never brags about his own qualities. Likely because he doesn’t view himself as anything worthwhile.

It is also confirmed Drew has issues at home, and just based on his controlling attitude and his atrocious comforting skills (“Whoever recorded you did you a favor.” DREW NO-) I believe his parents are either absent entirely or neglectful as hell. (They probably shoved a credit card in his face every time he cried.)

Anyways, this is all to say that Drew doesn’t really find happiness in himself or his family. So who does he turn to for emotional stability? His friends.

And when TMF started, Drew was at his high point. He was confident in his friendships, and had a sense of security, which is why he had the motivation to dress nicely. He felt good, so he wanted to look good.

But in episode five, his outfit changes. And the first thing we see him do is talk about how Zoey’s been acting odd. And only a minute or so later, he accuses Jake of preferring the company of others over him.

This interaction immediately shows Drew’s growing insecurities regarding his relationships, and as mentioned previously, without these relationships, he essentially has nothing. When Drew’s relationships feel unstable, he feels unstable. And he loses that motivation to put himself together, instead opting for something he can feel comfortable in.

As the series progresses, we don’t see too much of Drew and Zoey’s relationship, but it doesn’t exactly seem like it’s functioning well. Zoey seems more interested in spending time with Lia, and anytime Drew’s with them, he seems bored out of his mind.

I also believe Drew knows he’ll never be as close to Henry and Liam as they are to each other. Even though they’re all friends, we mostly see Liam and Henry stick to one another, and I’d imagine it’d leave Drew feeling almost like a third wheel. Especially knowing Liam and Henry went to middle school together, while Drew didn’t. (Due to the fact Henry didn’t recognize Hailey in the comic episode, meaning he didn’t go to middle school with her, and by extension, Drew.)

The relationship that seems to mean the most to Drew is his and Jake’s. Jake’s his best friend. Jake’s the one he sits next to in class. The one he whispers to and gossips with. The one he partners with for assignments. The one he’s the most protective of. It’s obvious that this relationship is the one that means the most to him. The one that gives him the most security. And from this point onwards, we see this relationship crumble. Jake continues to avoid him, and the more possessive Drew becomes, the further it pushes Jake away.

And I find it interesting how Drew is almost unable to fathom Jake leaving him for someone else. Specifically, for someone they both bullied. Instead of questioning Jake, or even himself, he villainizes the Music Club. He doesn’t want to believe Jake would leave on his own, and instead comes to the conclusion Jake is being manipulated. Until, of course, Jake accuses him of the recording and fails to apologize even AFTER finding out Drew was innocent. (Jake why?)

And after everything, Drew breaks things off with Zoey, and cuts Jake out of his life. Two people he thought he could trust, gone.

TLDR: Drew is co-dependent on his friends and his clothing reflects how slowly but surely, both his relationships and his own mental state crumble, until he’s left with nothing.

🖤Drake Headcanons💛

(Because they have a chokehold on my brain and I hope they blow up and explode.)

💛Golden Retriever + Black Cat Dynamic

🖤Drew has fallen asleep on Jake numerous times. (Liam has the photos to prove it.)

💛Jake and Drew are almost always beside each other in photos.

🖤Drew lets Jake copy of his homework. (Jake is the only person allowed to do this.

💛Jake and Drew play footsies during class. (Jake usually starts the game, and Drew is usually the one to finish it.)

🖤Drew has accepted that everything he owns also belongs to Jake. Jake will steal his pencils, his erasers, his papers, etc.

💛Jake doodles on Drew’s hand sometimes during class, and will also write random messages on Drew’s papers.

🖤Drew and Jake always work together on assignments if they’re allowed to.

💛Jake and Drew have pulled several all-nighters together.

🖤Whenever they play Genshin together, Drew carries. (And will spend hours helping Jake collect artifacts and ascension materials.)

💛Jake has possibly the worst team combos on Genshin, and Drew has tried to help him build better characters, but Jake refuses to change his team to due to being overly attached to them.

🖤Drew tends to glance over at Jake a lot, just to admire him. (Yet will never admit he finds Jake attractive.)

💛Jake flirts with Drew ironically. Drew gets flustered almost every single time.

🖤Drew’s braincells rapidly begin to vanish if he’s left alone with Jake for longer than 5 minutes.

💛Jake will steal Drew’s food and drinks a lot. (Drew tries to avoid thinking about the indirect kiss.)

🖤The two share have shared clothes numerous times.

💛Jake and Drew spent Halloween one year watching horror movies while Liam and Henry went trick-or-treating. Neither of them ended up sleeping that night.

🖤Drew feels more at home with Jake than he does in his actual house.

💛Jake has brought Drew to several family gatherings.

🖤Drew’s usually the one who reminds Jake of the little things he wanted to do that day. (Like Jake’ll off-handedly say ‘Don’t let me forget thing.’ And Drew will later on remind him of thing.)

💛Jake is painfully dense and doesn’t realize Drew may love him as more than just a friend.

🖤Drew has taken an ‘Am I Gay’ quiz because of Jake. (He took it until it told him he wasn’t gay. And to get that result he had to lie to himself a lot.)

💛Jake has told Drew several times that if he was stressed or needed someone to talk to, he’d always be there. Drew still has not taken his offer.

🖤Drew would quite literally take a bullet for Jake but will never admit it.

💛Jake opened up to Drew about what happened to him back in middle school. Drew never him asked why he was bullied, and instead promised him that he wouldn’t let it happen again.

🖤Since then, Drew became extremely protective of Jake, and almost all of his action stem from this desire to keep him safe from being used or hurt again.

💛Jake’s always been terrified of Drew judging him or abandoning him. Sometimes when they talk, Jake feels as if he’s treading on glass, terrified of missing a step and having Drew hate him. (He often observes Drew’s reactions to Liam and Henry’s behavior to determine what Drew’s comfortable with.)

🖤Meanwhile, Drew’s always felt he had to ‘prove’ himself worthy of Jake’s friendship. (I.e buying him things, being super protective, the arm thing, etc.)

💛Since the start of high-school, Drew always viewed Jake as his friend. He never liked the idea of sharing him with someone else. (Mostly because of his control issues.)

🖤Despite never saying it, Drew is hopelessly in love with Jake, and desperately wants to hold him close. (And probably kiss him.)

💛And despite everything, Jake does not reciprocate Drew’s feelings, and never will.

I’m making another delusional TMF S2 prediction: I think he’s touch-starved. (Slightly)

Im Making Another Delusional TMF S2 Prediction: I Think Hes Touch-starved. (Slightly)

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I refuse to believe this boy’s parents are ever present in his life. And the only characters we see Drew actually close with are Jake and Zoey. With Jake, Drew’s almost always the one who initiates, but with Zoey it seems pretty even, considering the photos in Zoey’s locker + bedroom. (But then from episode 6 onward they really don’t seem all that lovey.)

Im Making Another Delusional TMF S2 Prediction: I Think Hes Touch-starved. (Slightly)
Im Making Another Delusional TMF S2 Prediction: I Think Hes Touch-starved. (Slightly)

I don’t really see him having this relationship with Henry or Liam either, since I think he’s aware of how close they are to each other, and therefore feels more like a third wheel than anything. I also just can’t imagine Drew leaning his arm on either one of them like he does with Jake. (Yet I’m still obsessed with Driam but that’s a WHOLE other topic-) Anyways, this is all to say that the only people Drew’s really close to is Jake and Zoey.

But what about when he goes home? What about the times where he can’t see them? Combine this loneliness with his codependency and crippling abandonment issues and you get a beautiful recipe for misery.

Now I feel like a small part of him genuinely does want to be close with others, but at the same time he finds the feeling uncomfortable. And I can’t imagine him ever confronting this desire anyways because ‘men don’t need affection’ or something stupid I feel like Drew would tell himself that. (Hands fit together for a REASON.) Anyways, it all depends on the day and the person I suppose. He wants it, but doesn’t, and doesn’t want to ask, so instead he kinda just finds more subtle ways to initiate touch. (THE ARM THING THE ARM-)

But I just want to paint a scenario: Drew being hugged. (By one of the aforementioned blondes specifically.) (No I didn’t write this whole post just for this wymmm???)

And just, the way his nails would dig softly into their back. The way he’d hold onto them longer than he knew he should. The way his fingers would linger as the other pulled away. The shakiness of his breath, the word ‘stay’ on the very tip of his tongue.

He wouldn’t understand it. He wouldn’t understand the feeling in his chest, and why he craved it so desperately. And I feel like this subconscious desire for touch would manifest in smaller ways. Such as folding his hands together, or sleeping with something in his arms every night. The silent loneliness he feels constantly yet the inability to speak about it…

Sorry this was all over the place and Im extremely delusional someone send help please.

Hello I need to talk about these stinkers again.

Hello I Need To Talk About These Stinkers Again.

Specifically, I need to talk about the fact that they are BULLIES. Because I feel like a lot of people (including myself) fall into the trap of ONLY focusing on either their dynamic with each other, or their dynamic with others in a world where everyone’s friends. Nothing’s wrong with that, I love focusing on those aspects as much as the next, but I also feel like the fact these 4 are bullies gets kinda glossed over, and it’s something I want to talk about. Because they’re stinky little shits. Who do stinky little things.

(FYI I do not condone these boys’ actions, but I will analyze the hell out of them because character studies are my favorite thing.)

Anyways with that out of the way I am now going to break down how they bully others, and why they bully others.

First, these losers. Their actions can be summarized in a single sentence: They act like Freshmen.

Hello I Need To Talk About These Stinkers Again.

Anyone who’s gone to a public high school can hopefully understand what I mean. Freshmen boys tend to be the one’s who cause the most trouble. The ones who mess with people purely for shits and giggles. And despite Liam and Henry being Juniors, they’re so Freshmen coded it’s not even funny.

I feel these two lack the self-awareness to truly understand how their actions affect other people, so they’re constantly finding new ways to mess with people and get on their nerves. They don’t care if someone gets upset or uncomfortable. They don’t care about invading people’s privacy. They don’t care how their words affect others. Because it’s not hurting them. And as long as it’s not hurting them, it’s funny.

Drawing from my own experiences with Freshmen, I feel these two would follow behind strangers uncomfortably close. They’re the type to go up to random people and say ‘Hey, rate my friend.’ Or ‘Hey, my friend thinks you’re cute.’ But do not mean it in the slightest. They’re the type to throw random snack bags at kids purely for how they dress or act. Because they think it’s funny. And they don’t care what other’s think.

Now for Jake, the victim of bullying himself. Hot take: He’d be the WORST out of the four.

Hello I Need To Talk About These Stinkers Again.

Because Jake knows what hurts the most. He knows how to cut deep, because other’s have cut him deep. He draws from his experience. He says stuff that he remembers other’s saying to him. And he’s does this all for the sake of his friends approval.

Because these are his first real friends. And without them, he’d go back to being a pathetic loner no one else wanted. He’s so desperate for the approval of his new friends he’s willing to abandon his own morals for them. But I do believe he has a limit. He’d never actively invade someone’s privacy. (Considering how he prevented Liam from doing so in the Comic Episode.) And I also cannot see him harming someone in any form. But other than that, Jake’s arguably the scariest out of the four.

I feel like this aspect combined with his charming playboy persona kinda gives him this ‘illusive bad boy’ reputation, even if that’s not who he truly is. So he’s essentially trapped parading around as someone he’s not.

Finally, Drew. Infamous for his ability to turn the word ‘freak’ into a slur.

Hello I Need To Talk About These Stinkers Again.

I don’t view Drew as the meanest of the bunch, nor do I view him as some intimidating final boss either. To me, he’s more of a ringleader. Someone who controls the others, while doing very little himself.

He’s typically the one to instigate, then sit back and laugh as he watches the others do the rest. He’s eggs the others on occasionally, but ultimately, he’s more like an amused bystander. Consider the way he sat back and watched as Liam and Henry messed around in the clubroom in Episode 8, and consider the way he essentially did nothing but laugh as he watched Henry and Liam throw Hailey’s book around in the Comic Episode. Both times, he set the target on Hailey, only to sit back and watch as Henry and Liam did the rest.

However, Drew can absolutely be ruthless when he wants to, at least verbally. Because I believe what Zander said in Episode 2 holds a lot of truth to it: “They’re a walking reflection of their insecurities.”

I’ve already made several posts about Drew’s family issues, his codependency, and his overall lack of self-worth and loneliness, so I won’t be repeating them but my goodness is this boy an insecure mess.

He calls Hailey a control freak, yet is constantly shown trying to control Jake by pushing him away from the club. He tells Hailey to ‘get lost and know where she’s not wanted’ likely because he struggles feeling unwanted. He calls Hailey’s whole music concert worthless without Jake, because he feels worthless without Jake.

Drew and Jake are actually rather similar if you really think about it. Both are implied to have low self-esteem and abandonment issues, and both mask it by pretending to be more confident. But how they deal with their issues is where they begin differ, and this further reflects in their reasons for picking on others.

Jake is always changing himself for others, because he doesn’t know if he’ll truly be accepted for being himself. And the only reason he bullies others is because he feels he has to. Drew, meanwhile, finds ways to make himself seem like the best option. He’s constantly buying his friends expensive gifts, and talks down others to make himself look better by comparison. He does nothing to change himself, unlike Jake.

TLDR: Henry and Liam are Freshmen, Jake’s scary and I clearly cannot talk about Drew without spreading my Druffering propaganda. Have a good day. :3

🖤TMF S2 Predictions🖤

(But they’re all about Drew’s character arc because he’s my entire personality unfortunately.)

🖤After the fight between him and Jake, Drew can’t bring himself to cry. When he gets home, he’s on the verge of tears, and he’s barely able to hold himself together. (Sniffles and quiet breaths are the only thing able to escape him.)

🖤He’s also lost a lot of trust in Henry and Liam considering they also helped cover up Zoey’s cheating. He still somewhat forgave them, considering they were blackmailed, but he still can’t look at them the same.

🖤Slowly, Drew begins to spiral, wondering what else the two could’ve been lying about. What else were they hiding from him? How long until they turned on him too?

🖤Intrusive thoughts grow louder, and he eventually decides to cut off Henry and Liam. He snaps at them, and eventually blocks them.

🖤He blocks Zoey as well. He pretends she doesn’t exist. And that nothing ever existed between the two.

🖤He can’t bring himself to block Jake.

🖤He can’t get Jake out of his mind. He desperately wishes he could just go back to him, but he can’t, since in his mind, Jake never cared about him. Jake only ever used him. Just like Zoey did.

🖤He misses the comfort he found in Jake. He misses hearing his voice. He misses being in his presence. He misses him.

🖤But Jake was a liar. Jake never cared. So he couldn’t bring himself to forgive him.

🖤Even when Jake tries to apologize. Tries to talk things out, Drew refuses to listen. He lashes out at him, and eventually, Jake stops trying.

🖤Drew realizes this. He realizes Jake is truly gone now. He doesn’t know how to handle it.

🖤This is what causes him to realize Jake meant more to him than anyone else did. Because despite pushing everyone else away, Jake’s the only one he can’t stop thinking about.

🖤He realizes Jake was more than just a friend to him.

🖤But he tries to convince himself it doesn’t matter. He tries to convince himself he’s better off without Jake, or anyone for that matter.

🖤He stops bullying the Music Club. But he’s hostile to everyone. He shuts down completely.

🖤He’s unable to sleep at night. He doesn’t eat as much.

🖤He doesn’t put as much effort into himself. His eye-bags become more noticeable. His hair’s messier. (If Drew isn’t absolutely disheveled in S2 I will riot.)

🖤Every day becomes a struggle. Every minor inconvenience leaves him on the verge of tears. But he refuses to cry. At least not at school.

🖤He spirals further. Without his friends to distract him, he’s alone with his thoughts. Without his friend’s to rely on, his emotions only grow more volatile. Without someone around, he feels worthless.

🖤Without his friends, he’s nothing.

🖤He finally realizes his codependency.

🖤And he begins reflecting on his actions, his regret growing more and more every day.

🖤He sees Jake with his new friends from the club, and his jealousy only grows worse.

🖤At one point his emotions overflow, and he ends up breaking something in his room. (Not sure what specifically, just something.)

🖤Drew desperately needs a hug. And he finally breaks down crying in his room about everything.

🖤He has at least one nightmare sequence regarding his stressed and insecurities. (Similar to Jake in Episode 10.)

🖤And in the end, Drew has to be the one who works towards making amends with Jake. (Something would make him realize Jake still did care about him.)

🖤Because it’s the only way to show Drew growing as a character. It would force him to swallow his pride, and admit he was in the wrong, both things Drew would never do before.

🖤He’d also have to be vulnerable, putting him out of his comfort zone.

🖤And, of course, Jake would forgive him.

🖤And Drew ends up crying in Jake’s arms. (Full on ugly-crying. Heaving sobs and struggling for breath. Hell if this wasn’t a Gacha and I was the writer I’d go so far as to have him get a bloody nose or pass out.)

🖤And then maybe he starts taking little baby steps to try and improve himself I don’t know.

(There’s bound to be a lot more and I know I skipped a lot of plot points but this is all I got for now. Might make a part two might not.)

Synopsis: The events of TMF, from Drew’s perspective.

A/N: This is both a fanfic and a character study. Also while I write this I wonder why so many people turn Drew into a soft boy when it’s literally so MUCH FUN writing him as a bitch. He’s not a good person, make the most of it. By the way I feel like several of Drew’s problems could’ve easily been solved if Jake just laid with him and held him and told him everything was going to be okay and he was loved.

Contains Swearing (as per usual)

“You did what?!”

Drew could hardly believe what Jake was saying. He didn’t seriously go out of his way to join the Music Club of all things, did he? This- this had to be a joke.

Drew returned to his seat, his eyes fixated on Jake’s as he gave his excuse. The blonde’s voice was hesitant, his face tinted with a faint red hue.

He really wasn’t kidding… He really joined that little Freak Show… for Daisy, of all people.

Drew could feel a million questions flood his mind, but before he could ask any of them, he noticed Jake standing up, letting out an awkward laugh as he explained how he’d be late to music practice if he stayed any longer, and not a moment later, Jake had left the cafeteria.

Unbelievable…

Drew didn’t let himself think about it for very long. He kept himself distracted- no, focused. Focused on whatever task was at hand, whether it be school-work, home-work, or… whatever else, really.

But when Drew went to take a shower that evening, he couldn’t prevent the thoughts from returning.

After all, there was so much about Jake’s explanation that just didn’t add up.

Out of everything he could've done to confess his love to Daisy, why was this the conclusion he came to?

Why join the Music Club of all things? If all he wanted was to sing for Daisy, couldn’t he just do that privately? It’d be a hell of a lot more romantic, and it’d save him the embarrassment of performing with a bunch of freaks.

Not to mention that it’d be a public confession, too. If he got rejected, the whole school would find out in less than a week.

Why is he even going through all this trouble for a girl in the first place? Is it really all worth it?

He watched as the water ran down the drain, mind drifting further. He was only partially aware of his hand moving to turn the water a little warmer.

…And if he does go through with this, then… this wouldn’t be some dream anymore. He’d actually be doing something. He’d actually be going for Daisy.

Drew bit his lip. What if this somehow does work? What if he does end up confessing to her? What if she says yes? What if they start dating, where would that leave-

…Drew turned off the water. Any longer and he’d probably end up slamming his head against the wall.

He stepped out of the shower, grabbing his towel and wrapping it around his torso as he forced himself to take a breath. God, why did he have to be so dramatic about everything?

Calm down. It’s not like this plan’ll actually work. Jake’ll find some excuse to avoid telling her like he always does, and…

This wasn’t helping. He could still feel his heart racing.

God, why do I even care about this? Not like I don’t have a girlfriend. What’s so bad about him getting one?

The first answer was immediately shoved to the back of my mind. The second was simply: I just don’t want anything to happen to him…

Drew took another deep breath. He really needed to get better at recognizing when he needed one.

He thought about Jake and Daisy together, smiling with their hands intertwined.

And the idea was so repulsive he wanted to slam his head into a wall again.

Another breath.

Stop. Jake’s not going to confess to Daisy. You’re getting all worked up over nothing.

Drew glanced towards the mirror slowly, and despite the fog obscuring the reflection, he could faintly make out his silhouette staring back at him. And Drew paused for a moment.

Jake isn’t confessing. He isn’t leaving. He’s still m-

Another pause.

…God, I sound so fucking gay. Quickly, Drew turned away from the mirror, leaving the bathroom and heading to his closet to change.

Once he’d thrown on a plain shirt and sweatpants, Drew crawled into bed, getting himself comfortable under the blankets before checking his phone one last time. One final distraction before setting it down beside him, drifting off into a light, yet peaceful sleep.

*+*+*

Drew’s thoughts were clearer the next morning. They were quieter. Easier to sort through.

And as he stood in front of his mirror, buttoning up his heather shirt, he quickly realized how… insane his thoughts had been the previous night. It was embarrassing just to think about.

In what world would Jake ever work up the courage to ask Daisy out? He asked himself. Knowing him, he’d probably just back out last minute.

And after his failed confession, Jake would leave the club, and everything would be back to normal.

Drew reached over to his dresser, grabbing his tie and adjusting it around his neck.

Hell, maybe this little… confession plan, or whatever has some advantages. Maybe Jake can dig up some dirt on those freaks. That’d make for some pretty good blackmail…

Drew lowered his arms, and glanced himself over, making sure he looked presentable. Once satisfied, Drew grabbed his school-bag, and made his way downstairs to leave for school.

But reality soon hit him when Jake ended up leaving about half-way during lunch to get to band practice. At the time, Drew shrugged it off, pulling out his phone and tuning out the rest of Henry and Liam’s conversation. He’d still be able to see Jake after school, anyway.

*+*+*

The days continued as usual, yet Drew still found himself missing Jake’s company. He tried to make up for it by finding more ways to talk to Jake during class, but… even that started to change.

The first time Drew noticed it was during Chemistry. They had a project to work on that day, and when Drew had turned to get Jake’s attention, he noticed him leaned across their shared desk, talking to-

Hailey? Seriously? Since when were they on speaking terms? Drew rolled his eyes.

“Are you gonna keep talking to your music girlfriend, or are you actually gonna help me out here?” He asked.

“Don’t call her that!” Jake snapped, but Drew didn’t miss the way Jake flushed at the nickname. Drew frowned.

“I wouldn’t have partnered up with you if I knew you’d just talk to her for the whole lesson. Help out, would you?”

The two resumed the project, but Drew couldn’t help but feel slightly… uneasy? He wasn’t sure how to describe it, but that whole interaction gave him a weird feeling in his chest.

Drew shrugged it off. Or at least… he tried to, but it still lurked in the back of his mind.

But there was something else he had to focus on for now. He had a date with Zoey that evening. He noticed she’d been a little more… quiet than usual, so he figured taking her out shopping would help a little. After all, that usually fixed a lot of her problems.

But when the two arrived at the mall, Zoey was still quiet, and would only look up from her phone occasionally to browse around. But in the end, she didn’t end up buying… anything.

Zoey, who had every inch of her closet stuffed with clothes. Zoey, who was always up to date on the latest fashion trends. Zoey, who needed every accessory in every color.

Zoey. Wanted nothing.

He was at least able to buy her dinner before taking her home, but as Drew drove back to his house, he just couldn’t stop thinking about it.

Zoey always wanted something from him. That was one of the things she liked about him, wasn’t it? So why hadn’t she wanted anything?

If he wasn’t buying her things, what was he even bringing into this relationship? What was keeping her around?

Calm down. It’s one time. She’s probably just… having a tough week or something.

He took a deep breath as he turned into his driveway. Yet it did little to ease his mind.

God, first Jake starts getting closer with those freaks, and now Zoey’s acting all weird, too. The hell’s going on?

His thoughts kept him up longer than he’d like to admit.

*+*+*

Drew could barely open his eyes the following morning. Sleeping had been… exhausting, ironically. He kept drifting in and out, his mind constantly racing with thoughts that managed to escape from the dark crevices of his mind.

After several minutes of quiet yawns and eye rubs, Drew finally gathered the strength needed to sit himself upright.

His movements were slower that morning. It took him longer to get ready than usual, and when it came time to decide an outfit, Drew found himself hesitant.

Usually, he’d choose something formal. Something that made him look… better than his other classmates.

But Drew was exhausted. He didn’t care about looking better. He just wanted to be comfortable.

His eyes scanned his closet, and eventually, Drew pulled out a black hoodie he hadn’t worn in awhile.

…The weather was getting colder anyways, so this would be perfect.

He didn’t bother to double check his appearance. He was already running a little behind.

Before leaving, however, Drew decided to grab an energy drink from the fridge, cracking it open and taking a sip before leaving for school.

…Drew found himself to be more irritable than usual that day. His mind just wouldn’t slow down.

He had complained about Zoey’s behavior during lunch that day, and of course, Jake wasn’t listening. Probably daydreaming about those freaks again.

Without thinking, Drew snapped at him, voicing his suspicion to Jake. Yet the blonde didn’t seem to be phased, and only denied Drew’s claim.

But Drew wasn’t convinced. If Jake truly preferred his company, why did he keep talking to Hailey instead of him?

It was even worse during PE. Multiple times during class, Drew found himself glancing in the blonde’s direction, and every time, Jake’s eyes were busy admiring a certain teal-haired girl on the other side of the field.

Well, he sure moves on fast…

*+*+*

Jake ended up running off with Hailey after school that day too, and the next, and-

Suddenly, Jake didn’t even seem to have time for them anymore. He was always so busy with ‘rehearsals’ or whatever. He wouldn’t show up to lunch anymore, nor would he have time after school to hang out. Even during class, he still seemed more intent on talking to Hailey.

And… Drew didn’t miss the way Jake’s eyes sparkled when he looked at her. He didn’t miss the smile that appeared on his face whenever she was around.

He’d never seen him shine so brightly before. Not even around him.

Drew found himself thinking about it one night, as he stared up at his bedroom ceiling.

I thought I actually meant something to him… Apparently, I’m about as good as some stuck-up music freak he’s only known for a month. That same uncomfortable feeling began seeping into his chest.

Everything I did for him, did any of it even matter? Or am I just useless to him now? Now that he has those little freaks he’s so fond of.

God, they don’t deserve him. They don’t deserve to be by his side. They don’t deserve to see him smile, he’s supposed to be-

A breath. He was spiraling again.

…This wasn’t normal, was it?

*+*+*

Sleep was growing elusive. Drew wasn’t sure how many hours of rest he must’ve lost from this week alone.

Everything had changed, and Drew wasn’t the least bit prepared for it all. His whole world had been torn from beneath him the moment Jake walked through those club doors. Jake just had to go and ruin everything…

He brought his knees closer to his chest, sinking deeper into his desk chair as he pulled out his phone. No new notifications…

He opened his messages, and pulled up the last few messages he sent to Jake.

Six messages and eight hours later, Jake still hadn’t responded yet. He refreshed the app, yet nothing changed.

Drew sighed, and he set his phone down on his desk, tilting his head back to stare out the sun-roof. The moon hung high overhead, obscured only partially by the dark clouds in the sky.

Drew bit his lip, wondering why everything turned out like it did.

Jake was supposed to be his friend. But now he’s found someone else.

Suddenly, Drew's phone buzzed, and he scrambled to grab it, fumbling to see what the notification was.

A text message… from him.

Apologizing for being… ‘busy’ again.

Drew didn’t know how many times he reread his message. And his trembling hands held his phone tighter.

That same uncomfortable feeling he’d grown so familiar with pierced his chest again. It’d grown sharper. It felt as if a knife had been dragged through him.

Why did he always have to be busy? Busy with his new friends, who took up all his time, all his life.

He replaced me-

And in a moment of frustration, Drew threw his phone across the room. It slammed against the wall, and Drew couldn’t tell if he broke it or not. But he didn’t care.

His breath was heavy, struggling to escape his throat. His heart pounded loudly in his ears, his vision blurred, and-

…He could feel tears growing dangerously close to spilling over.

Quickly, Drew tilted his head back, swallowing as he blinked them away. Dammit…

This wasn’t supposed to happen. He wasn’t supposed to cry. Not over something as pathetic as this. You’re better than this…

He’d been doing so well, too. Hell, the last time he cried must’ve been-

…All the way back in Sophomore year. In the middle of the night, during a sleepover of all times.

God, the dream was still so clear in his mind. Every word. Every action. The feeling of waking up with tears streaming down his face.

And… the way Jake had held him that night, his touch gentle, yet the only thing keeping Drew together.

He could recall the warmth that flooded his chest, washing away his worries as he’d melted into the blonde’s arms.

…It was ironic. The last time he’d cried, Jake had been there with him. But now… he was about to cry because Jake wasn’t there…

…Suppose dreams really do come true after all.

The thought brought a bitter smile to his face. An uneven laugh escaping his throat. God, that sounds so pathetic…

It was even more pathetic how desperately he wanted to return to that moment. To those simpler times. And to that warm embrace he’d never truly felt before.

He missed his warmth. He missed his smile, his company, just… him.

Drew could feel a single tear slip from his eye, followed by another, and-

Drew was quick to brush them away. He wasn’t supposed to cry- he didn’t cry. Not over something like this… not over anything.

So he forced himself to stop. Forced himself to hold it together. Just as he’d always done.

Ignoring the pain he felt tearing him apart.

🖤Droey Dump🩷

*+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+

Synopsis: Following Jake’s comment about Zoey’s ‘busy weekends’, Drew decides to call Zoey to talk about about.

A/N: This one’s a bit shorter than usual, I mostly just wanted to explore Drew’s feelings regarding the breakup, not the actual build-up to it. This also takes place after Episode 10, but before Episode 11. ALSO the fics from this point onwards are some of my favorites so HYPE. (Spoilers: I got a lot of Drew angst this month.)

*+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+

The sky had faded from a soft pink to a deep shade of black, and for the past several hours, Drew had been on the phone with Zoey. Her voice had been unsteady for most of the night, her words rushed and her stories almost never ending.

He’d called her a while ago to confront her about the comment Jake had made earlier that day, and after listening to her conflicting stories and blatant lies, the truth slowly began to unravel itself.

Zoey had gone out with someone else behind Drew’s back… multiple times. And his love had been nothing but more than a toy for her to discard the moment it became anything but useful. After everything he’d done, he barely meant a thing to her.

Zoey’s voice wavered on the other end of the phone, broken by sobs as she desperately tried to apologize. But Drew swallowed; he wouldn’t let himself fall for her again.

“We’re done, Zoey.”

“W-what?!” Zoey cried, and Drew hated the way her voice still tugged at his heart. “Drew, please! You can’t-”

Drew hung up the phone, and blocked Zoey’s number without so much a second thought.

Zoey’s words echoed in his mind, but Drew felt almost nothing towards them anymore. Everything just felt… numb. He would’ve expected himself to feel angry, to raise his voice, to do something… but he just felt… nothing.

With a shaking breath, Drew turned off his phone; the shattered black screen reflecting hollow eyes and messy magenta hair. It took him a few moments to finally set it down.

He buried his face in his palm, and he wondered why he allowed Zoey to talk for so long.

Maybe… he was just hoping she’d somehow convince him she truly cared about him. And that this was all one big misunderstanding. But of course it wasn’t.

God dammit, Jake was right…

How had be been so oblivious? The signs had been there from the start…

The way she only ever seemed happy when she was spending his money. The way she only seemed to care when she was showing him off. The silence between the two in private. The constant texts to other people, the-

God, he was such an idiot.

He shouldn’t have brushed off the signs. He shouldn’t have lied to himself, and told himself everything was fine between them. He should’ve known better…

He thought he’d done everything right. He gave her everything she asked for. And all he wanted was her love in return. But she couldn’t even give him that…

That’s the whole reason he even went out with her. He just wanted someone to care about him. He didn’t care who, just… someone who could make him feel useful-

Drew pressed his palm against his forehead, forcing himself to take slow, steady breaths. And he had to remind himself that he doesn’t cry; that he wasn’t supposed to cry.

And it was strange, because he didn’t even realize he wanted to cry until tears had already pricked the corners of his eyes.

His mind began to wander; back to the past, back to all those shopping dates and… back to when it seemed like he was all that mattered to her…

But of course it was never him. It was the money she admired. And she couldn’t give a damn about who it came from.

Drew brought his knees up to his chest. If all she wanted was his money, why did she have to bring his heart into this? Why did she have to go and make him feel like he was special? Like he was loved?

Like he deserved to be?

He wished he’d never let her close, never opened his heart to her, never made a place for her…

And in the end, Drew didn’t get even an hour of sleep that night.

This piece is actually a redraw of a piece I made almost a year ago, just before I started this Tumblr. It’s also a scene from the next fanfic I have in store, which is probably one of my favorites so I’m really excited to share it!

Anyways heres the before and after:

(Sorry for all the fanfic-related content I’ve been producing recently. I’m not really sure if that’s what a majority of people are interested in, but I’m just really proud of where my writing is, and it’s something I want to share. Also I want to see how much I can get right about TMF S2 before it releases lol. I have a few more fic-related posts, but I promise I get back to posting more art and headcanons too. And I also gotta few things in store for pride month, I just need more time on them.)

🖤Sleep💙

*+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+

Synopsis: Drew finds himself caught in the rain, and ends up running into possibly the last person he wants to see.

A/N: This takes place after the events in Episode 11. I gave the Drake fans a little treat with this one. (Side note, one of the scenes was heavily inspired by an edit on Youtube, but I don’t remember who the creator since the original video has since been made private.)

*+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+ *+

Drew couldn’t remember how he ended up here.

His surroundings were obscured by darkness; he could feel raindrops falling down around him, along with a cool wind which only seemed to send the rain in his direction. Within moments, Drew was already soaked.

He could hear the sound of thunder approaching, but there was no flash of light. No sign of where he could be, or where he could go.

Letting out a small sigh, Drew threw his hood over his head, and began to move forward as he shoved his trembling hands in his pocket. He didn’t know where he was going, but hopefully, he could find somewhere to escape the rain.

However, the longer he walked, the more he realized he wasn’t getting anywhere. It was impossible to see, and he was only growing colder by the second.

Drew blinked when a light began to flicker in the distance, and he was quick to realize it was an old streetlamp.

A familiar one, too…

Just underneath was a small bench, big enough to fit about two people. A dirt path led up to it, and surrounding it was nothing but grass and a few small trees. He knew where he was now.

Him, Liam, Henry, and… Jake, would sometimes come here after school. It was along the way to Liam and Henry’s neighborhood, so they’d usually rest here for a few minutes just to get Henry to stop complaining about having to walk.

Drew stopped when he grew closer to the wooden bench, resting his hand on the backrest and noticing a few initials carved into it.

An H and an L were carved along the first plank, and the second…

A D and a J, with a heart around the letters.

Henry was the one who’d drawn the heart, and while Jake had simply laughed it off, Drew could recall going off on a tangent about how he’d rather die than date Jake. Or something along those lines.

Jake had teasingly wrapped his arm around him, acting all hurt about the fact Drew wouldn’t ever go out with him. He’d gone on about how charming he was after that, but… Drew couldn’t remember what he’d said.

What he did remember was the scent of Jake’s cologne. The way his eyes glistened in the sunlight. His smile, his playful and confident tone…

The soft pink of his lips…

The idea of…

Drew shook his head, reminding himself that it was all a lie. Jake never cared about him. He never cared about any of them.

All those little moments of laughter. All those late night calls. All those gifts Drew had gotten him. All those memories. All lies.

…He was a damn good liar, that was for sure.

Letting out a shaky breath, Drew sat down on the bench, forgetting his original mission of getting out of the rain. He was already soaked, regardless.

Instead, he placed his elbows on his knees, burying his face in the palms of his hands.

God… why did it hurt so badly? Why did he still want him back? Jake never cared about them, so… why did Drew still care about him?

Drew’s hands began to tug at his hair, biting down on his lip as he remembered the way Jake would smile. The way he’d laugh. The look in his eyes when got all smug…

God, what was wrong with him?

“Enjoying the rain?” Drew jumped at the sudden voice, looking over his shoulder to see-

He swallowed. Standing behind him was a man with peach-blonde hair, and a navy blue jacket.

Jake.

He held a black umbrella over his head, and leaned a bit closer to cover Drew’s as well. Drew, however, inched away from him, putting himself back in the rain.

“The hell are you doing here?” Drew snapped, his voice laced with hostility. Jake shrugged.

“Could ask the same for you,” He answered casually, sitting down on the bench beside him. Drew stiffened.

“Doesn’t matter.” He answered. “Just shove off, I don’t need you here.”

“I didn’t know I needed your permission.” Jake commented, showing no sign of moving. Drew wanted to get up and leave, go anywhere else that wasn’t there. But his legs wouldn’t move.

“What do you want?” Drew asked, dropping his gaze to the ground. Jake was quiet for a moment, before he shook his head.

“You have a lot you want to say to me, don’t you?” Drew paused for a moment, only for a short laugh to escape him. Was Jake being serious right now?

“Oh, oh yeah, just a little bit,” Drew forced himself from the bench, running a hand through his hair. He took a deep breath. “What the fuck is wrong with you?!” Drew suddenly yelled. “How can you just sit here and talk to me so easily? Do you expect me to just forget the fact that you spent 3 years just using us?!” He took a step closer.

“3 fucking years, Jake! Did you even bother to think about how we’d feel?! We cared about you, dammit! I cared about you! And the second you found someone better, you left me for dead! You selfish bastard, did I mean nothing to you?!” Drew could feel tears welling up in his eyes, coming dangerously close to spilling over. His chest was heaving. Jake only stared at him, showing no sign of answering.

“Was it all a lie, Jake?” He asked, his voice beginning to waver. “Were you just using me because you thought I was safe?!” He paused for a moment, taking in a breath before continuing. “Did… you even like me at all?”

“ANSWER ME, DAMMIT!!” Drew screamed.

“I think we both know the answer to that.” Jake finally said. Drew paused, his breath caught in his throat. But… what did he expect?

“I hate you, Jake. I hate you so fucking much.”

“So then why do you still need me?” Drew could feel his throat tighten, but despite that, he laughed.

“Did you not just hear a word I said?” Drew huffed. “I never needed you! You were the one who needed me because you were too weak to stand on your own!” Drew was screaming again, but Jake’s expression didn’t change. He took a few steps forward, closing the distance between them before resting a hand against Drew’s cheek.

“Then why aren’t you pushing me away?” Jake whispered, and Drew could feel his breath hitch, the words he wanted to say caught in his throat.

“From the very start, you thought I was different.” Jake started. “You thought I saw past what you could offer. You thought I valued you for… being you.”

“And you were so desperate for someone to care about you. You revolved your whole world around me. I became your Sun. I became your light in the darkness. Your warmth on cold days. Without me… you were lost…”

“But now… you’ve learned how badly a Sun can burn. Yet… you refuse to let me go. At least… not here.”

Drew’s glanced to the side, taking in their surroundings as he wondered what Jake could’ve meant. But the blonde tilted his head back, forcing their eyes to meet.

“Despite everything I’ve done, you’re still drawn to me. You still need me…”

Drew’s mouth felt dry, and he could feel his heart skip a beat when Jake’s eyes trailed down to his lips.

…What was happening?

“Otherwise, I don’t think you’d let me do this…”

Without warning, Jake pressed his lips against Drew’s, and the magenta-haired man let out a small noise, his eyes widening.

This shouldn’t be happening. This was wrong. Jake lied to him. Jake hurt him.

And yet, Drew couldn’t bring himself to push him away.

He… didn't realize how long he'd been craving this… How desperately he yearned for this…

The tears slipped from Drew's eyes as he kissed him back, his arms wrapping around the blonde’s waist as he pressed himself closer.

This was wrong, this was all wrong…

But it felt so good… he never wanted it to stop.

Everything just felt so… warm. His body felt weak, his head was light.

But eventually, Jake broke away, leaving Drew stumbling forward and leaning against the blonde’s chest. His lips were parted slightly, his breaths coming out short and quick.

He blinked, and without thinking, he spoke.

“Can… we do that again..?” Drew voice was barely above a whisper, he could barely hear it over the sound of his own heartbeat.

“Please...”

Jake smirked, his hands resting on Drew’s shoulders as he leaned closer, his lips brushing against Drew’s ear. Drew held his breath.

“See? You still need me…” Drew swallowed, blinking tears from his eyes. He… he was right…

“But I don’t need you anymore…”

*+*+*

Drew’s eyes flew open, letting out a small gasp as his gaze met his bedroom ceiling.

It was just a dream…

Drew slowly sat up, staring down at his hands.

…What kind of dream was that?
