My pfp on whatsapp is Kokichi and it has been for like 2 years so every time I start yapping about danganronpa to my friends and I show them Kokichi they go "That's your profile picture!!" and I find it so funny

Could someone explain why Himiko Yumeno is such a popular character? I kinda hate her but it seems like most people like her and I want to understand why

Not sure if the drv3 chapter 3 culprit was really obvious or if I just thought that bc I already knew but like? (Spoilers ahead)

Kiyo came up as a suspect so many times in the trial and he kept saying "oh it had to be whoever set it up!" trying to blame Himiko but he set it up? Even after she picked the room he went to go set it up after, everything he said about Himiko literally just pointed to himself

From the very start of the trial he was the first key suspect and then he set up every single part in front of them (even using the weapon from his room) and then also got accused like 5 other times. Like sure figuring out the method could've been tricky but it was so easy to figure out it was him

If this is the first one you've seen - I'm making a crossover of DC comics and Danganronpa by assigning the characters a vigilante that I think suits them

Time for Young Justice! I used drv3 characters for these guys and I haven't read the comics so some of this may not be 100% accurate

Red Robin - Shuichi Sahara

Most of my YJ were picked due to their connections with him, my Tim/Shuichi Reasoning is back in part 1

Superboy - Kaito Momota

- Dumb jock energy? (the two of them have really similar vibes imo)

- Incredibly homoerotic subtext with Tim/Shuichi, people often take it as a near-canon romance

- Astronaut / Half alien (space boys)

- K names (just a coincidence but its nice)

Impulse - Kokichi Ouma

Okay I know practically nothing about Impulse. I am going off of some fanon things I've seen and one clip from the yj show

- Pretty clever but too chaotic for people to notice

- That clip of impulse running away from everyone on the team reminds me of kokichi running away in the love hotel scene

- Pretty commonly shipped with Shuichi/Tim and Kaito/Kon, seen as a trio shipping or not

Wondergirl - Maki Harukawa?

The only thing I know ab Cassie is that she's Kon's gf. So sorry ab that, I didn't know who to put for Maki so I thought this worked

Miss Martian - Himiko Yumeno

Is she in the comics? Idk, I might me combining the comics and show but oh well

- A bit shy, doesn't really talk to people outside of their friend group much

- Miss M's powers feel a lot like magic, plus she can go invisible and Himiko was talking about making an invisibility spell

- I kinda wanted all the drv3 survivors on this team yk

The drv3 killing harmony ending is really controversial so this is my take on it (spoilers ahead)

I think of it as like, everything did happen in that universe but just a rlly long time ago. Ik canonly there isn't a big time gap but I think of drv3 being fictional in-universe as "this horrible thing happened years ago so we made a fictional re-enactment" kinda like the shows about Henry viii's wives and stuff like the crown yk?

Idk if this makes sense but that's how I think if it because if just the killing games were fictional then what about udg, and all of drv3? And if it was ALL fictional then I think there would've been more drv3 lore as well.

Since the characters in the other games overlapped quite a bit (the dr1 survivors popping up in udg, everyone being in dr3 except for the drv3 characters, dr1 characters being in sdr2) but there is no interaction with them and anyone in the third (main) game.

I think that's because the first two games + udg and dr3 do happen in this universe and then, hundreds of years later, the world is fixed and everyone is pretty over it. It becomes well known enough that someone writes a show based on it and then it becomes popular enough for multiple seasons which eventually our characters sign up for.

And its not really unlikely for stuff like this to happen, we have a film about people falling in love on the titanic, we have billions of shows and films about hitler and the holocaust, there are shows about serial killers like Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy, and how often do you hear jokes about 9/11?

Stories about genocide and wars always get very popular very fast and I don't doubt that 'the tragedy' and the killing games would be so well known, like they'd learn about it in schools and everything, it was a huge deal in-universe.

I've thought about this a lot (as ik most drv3 fans have to) so this is one of my main drp headcanons lol, enjoy!

I love that within one trial we got Shuichi saying "I'm only an apprentice" and cut to Kirumi being the fucking president? "I did it for my people!" Girl you're like 17 who allowed this?

Ngl I kinda think the writers just weren't fully sure what a maid is but good for her

The English version of drv3 is so entertaining bc they changed the most insignificant shit ever. Like Kaedes height

If you check the wiki it says she's 5'5 for the Japanese version and 5'8 for the English. Like no reason just "nah she's way too short"

Ngl I'd love to see what Tsumugi was thinking after Kokichi announced he was the mastermind. And like in the chapter 5 trial when Himiko mentioned it and Tsumugi IMMEDIATELY agreed with her

Himiko: It was the mastermind! Kokichi!!

Tsumugi: yep yep the mastermind that is Kokichi and nobody else

I like drv3 talent swaps but I rlly wish ppl wouldn't just stick their 'ultimate leader' in dice. Like make up a new organization or just make them a leader of smth else, that's Kokichi's thing! They were important enough to Kokichi to be in his motive video, it's not like they're just random henchmen

Nearly everyone in drv3 had something else they could've led, none of them are connected to dice bc it wasn't designed for them. Like it doesn't even need to be a crime organization, that was tailored to Kokichi.

And you don't need to take away their entire personality because they're better at a different thing? Like gonta would still like bugs, it's like 90% of his personality. Let them lead something that has meaning to them instead of just y/n-ing them into dice. I'm gonna stick ideas under the cut bc like be creative?

Rantaro - idk him very well, didn't he raise his (many) sisters? Being a leader doesn't always mean they're in an organization/club

Kaede - stick her in a band? Or like a choir group. Leading a criminal organization would change her character a lot

Ryoma - tennis team? Idk much about sports. Or like a prison gang bc didn't he say he went to prison

Kirumi - ngl you wouldn't have to change a single thing there, she's the president already

Angie - student council? Or like a priest

Tenko - idk her that well but like lead some kinda akido group? Like a martial arts club. Dice has dudes so she definitely wouldn't be their leader

Korekiyo - yeah I know nothing about him or anthropology. Study group (studying culture) ?

Miu - Engineering club

Gonta - could he be the leader of bugs? Yk like how ppl can train bugs into behaving differently. If not then a bug study group (ik I already said that but it's a different type of study group okay?)

Kaito - training group? Like with Maki and Shuichi or like a group of astronauts-in-training with Kaito as their group leader

Kiibo - robotics/engineering club. He'd be so different without his talent though ngl

Tsumugi - cosplay group

Shuichi - lead detective on a case

Maki - she was in an assassin group right? Make her the leader of that

Himiko - magician club (lol my old teacher tried to make one of those but no one wanted to go)

Like they literally could've just led a group project rlly well, it doesn't need to be dice. I once read a fic where the new leader was literally just Kokichi with a name change. Sometimes it rlly seems like people want a roleswap instead of a talent swap and like there are so many options!

The fact that Kaito was still wearing his jacket when he got out of the exisal implies that he either took the time to go get another one from his room or that he already had a spare with him (either meaning he has two ready at all times or that he went another while Kokichi was dying)

Kokichi haters in chapter 4 drive me crazy ngl

Like yeah it was a dick move but really? To hate a fictional character that much bc he got a nice person to agree to kill? Maybe it was manipulative but it's really not as big of an issue as the drv3 fandom makes it out to be. Like everytime someone says "he could have done this instead" it's a shitty argument that was covered in game at least once

"why did Kokichi not kill Miu himself"

He physically couldn't, he literally could not touch her. They went over that like twice

"why did he make Gonta?"

Who else would have believed him? No other person would have wanted to help him either

"why did he kill Miu"

She was planning to kill him, he didn't just randomly choose to kill her

"at least Nagito & Byakuya didn't make anyone kill"

Byakuya tried to frame someone (she could've got executed for that) and Nagito made Teruteru and Chiaki kill

Most danganronpa characters are so complex and I feel like everyone that hates Kokichi just refuses to listen to other opinions and rationality.

Like it's danganronpa. I hear loads of people say it's stupid to hate a character bc they killed your favorite and it rlly is. And people accept that until Kokichi (essentially) killed Gonta & Miu. Plus Gonta didn't have to agree to it, Gonta isn't just a dumb kid.

And if you hate Kokichi for making someone kill, do you also hate Junko, Tsumugi, Nagito, Monokuma and the remnants of despair? Or is it just because Gonta's nice?
