Edwin slowly realizing Niko was talking to him when she says “you look really nice!” is such a sweet little moment. He is so fucking precious honestly
If when Niko died she didn't go on to whatever her regular afterlife would've been because of the lucky charm that Mick gave her (which seems clear to me), then that's the beginning of her becoming the Principal (however that happened).
Which means, what ultimately saved Edwin from Hell for good is the fact that Niko listened to Mick's story.
It's also interesting to me that Mick's story was about a little girl who died and then became a goddess... and he gave that item to Niko which made her something more than human when she died, too.
