Meanwhile Edwin thinks Charles doesn't return his feelings but actually he is seething in unbearable agonizing jealousy over it? Maybe Charles and the Cat King end up fighting idk but there are lots of possibilities here and I need them all somebody help me

Started writing a longfic to sort out what was left open (Niko, Charles and Crystal, Payneland) and since I don't have a title yet I named the file "season 2"

For love languages, touch is a pretty strong no. Acts of service and quality time are his primary love languages. Also, he may not realize it, but he would actually love to be on the receiving end of gifts, because it would "surprise him." He hasn't gotten a lot of gifts over the course of his existence!

Edwin hates/dislikes a bunch of stuff, but the things I found most interesting were: abandonment; Satan's star; being late; loud chewers; and tobacco pipes.

"Loud chewers" threw me off, but then I remembered that he got devoured alive for 70 years straight so it makes sense again.

Guys. Did Edwin and Charles even get buried, or have a funeral/memorial? We know that the school covered up what happened to both of them. We know Edwin’s disappearance was labeled as an “Act of God”. So my question is does Edwin’s body even exist in the moral plane? Or was his body dragged into Hell along with his soul? Or was his body disintegrated when he was dragged to Hell?

And Charles. Was his body ever discovered? He died in the attic of a seemingly random and possibly abandoned shack. If he was found, then his body had to have been buried somewhere inconspicuous by the school. So do his parents know he’s dead? Do Edwin’s parents know he’s dead?

what if I was slowly dying of internal bleeding and hypothermia and you stayed with me and read to me. Because you know I'm dying and you don't want me to be alone and scared (like you were). And what if I chose You, instead of heaven?

I absolutely adore that Niko Sasaki's contribution to the Dead Boy Detective Agency isn't any kind of special powers she could've gotten from being possessed by parasitic little gods, but rather it's just her— with her innate curiosity and kindness, her love of love, and the earnestness and sincerity in which she says or does something.... ooooh I love her so much my best girl !!!!

I think it's so funny that Charles wants to call the Night Nurse "Charlie" because that's literally a nickname for the name Charles

I don't know how and why do Taylor Swift's songs fit Neil Gaiman's movies so much.. I'm dead (happily!!)

Something just hit me and it hit me HARD.

In the scene when Edwin yells at Crystal about his and Charles' deaths, he says that his death was "considered an act of God".

But he couldn't know that BEFORE Hell, because he was immediately taken by the demon, so he couldn't be around for when they found his body.

That means, that after he came back, he looked into his own death and THEN found out about this.

Can you imagine that? He spend 70 years being tortured in Hell and after finally escaping, he tried to see if anyone cared about him, if anyone missed him, if the boys that sacrificed him were punished for what they did to him.

And the only thing he found out was that no one cared. That all of the pain he went through was "an act of God".

Throw into the mix his repressed homosexuality and some religious guilt.

We can't be sure if he found it out on his own or after Charles died, but none the less, I think Charles was the only thing that kept him from drowning in that religious trauma. Because he seemed to truly accept him, no matter what.
