Stealing glances your way when he knows he should be focused on his work. But he can't help himself, and becomes lost in your visage until he's dusted the same vase three times over.
The way thoughts of you occupy his otherwise trained mind at the most inconvenient of times. He knows it should be shameful of a butler to be allowing his mind to wander so, but somehow, he doesn't seem to mind.
How he's dedicated your smallest mannerisms to memory and adapted accordingly; he places your teacup at the perfect angle, noting how you tend to blindly reach. How you wrinkle your brow when you concentrate, and he hides his smile. The way the corners of your mouth upturn ever so slightly when you eat something you like. He'll prepare it more often.
Those moments when he removes his gloves and the bite of cold air comes to greet his skin, and he wonders how the warmth of your hands would feel pressed against his own. Would you mind how chilly they were? He hoped not.

I was listening to Water Wall from the Transistor OST and thought of Lucifer and Alastor dancing a slow tango to a bass-y jazz number in the hotel's expansive new kitchen. I ended up finding Unsolved by Mythical Score Society and it creates such a gentle, sexy mood. Loved how it turned out. ❤️
